Both of my orders arrived. My VW bus was in perfect condition, but one of my Commando Droid battle packs was squashed. Love the TC-14's.

Items normally go in the "Shopping UK", but often Amazon ones don't since they are in the DrDave list.

It has also been this price for two months or so.

Ok finally have something to 'brag' about. Just got lucky to grab the TC-14 mini figure for price of $25 each. Got 6 of them with free shipping, will be getting these by end of the month hopefully.

I bought 25 sets (6074, 6082, 924, 6954, 6955, 6396, 1906 a bunch of smaller 80s castle, space and town, and 3 model team sets 5590, 5540 & 5521) for $80 CAD on kijiji (Canadian craigslist). The pieces came semi sorted in a large bin with their instructions. I've been having a fun time building them.

How much is Duplo going for in bulk? There's a guy selling 14 pounds for $80. Was gonna offer $50.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
14 lbs of duplo.. thats like 10 bricks right? =)

  • The_Brick_BuilderThe_Brick_Builder Member Posts: 658
And would you look at that, he just made his feedback private.

Just bought 10190 and 10182 for $750 for the pair. A few minor pieces missing and one does not have the orig minifigs. Instructions but no boxes!
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
So I guess you are the one who broke my deal! You probably pick that up from Elk Grove.

I ask that kid what is the price tag for the green grocer and cafe corner. And he said $400 for both. I didn't say the price and let him name it. Then I said I will take both. Then after he send me a few pic and mention someone offer him $500 for both and ask me if i would match it. I said since I agree to buy both at that price. It should stay at that price. But I agree to match the $500 offer. And ask him he should tell other interesting party that the sets are pending and only if I would change my mind, then he can let other buy it. Then an hour later, his father(may be he pretend) said he change his mind and want to sell the grnad Emporium first and keep the other two set for now.

I m pretty sure he get a better offer, but he doesn't need to make a big fat lie about it. I respect his decision, but it is just totally wrong to break an agreement like that. When I sell stuff on CL, always first come first serve, whoever agree to pay the price I posted, that is the contract/agreement I always honor! Even other contact me and offer me more, I would tell them the item is pending and will let them know if the buyer back out.

I understand it is not your issue, I just want to express my unhappiness about that seller!

Money talks louder than words. I've learned that much from experience.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
I tried to go pick up right away but the seller insist he will be busy and not available until 6:30

I understand money speak louder. But it is unfair to lie and let me have a chance to match it. Even though I probably will not match. It just didn't sound right

I sell a lot on craigslist, from used car to used baby stuff, I always treat my buyer with my heart. Not just for the $$$$$.
  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
You're right, the mother quoted me $550 for both, then told me someone offered $700 but I've been wanting these for two years so I told her I'd go $750 and that was my top dollar and only if all the instructions were there.

Sorry to hear they played you just like they did me, but like the other person said, money talks. I guess we both learned something - not everyone is willing to sell at the price they first quote if someone offers more. This is the second seller who has bumped the price after quoted that I've found.
  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
Btw, he still has Green Grocer if you want to deal with them.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
I just want to point out, use a flat out lie to back out a deal are just wrong. I m not blaming you or anyone else. It is a fair game. But if the seller want a biding war. Why don't they mention best offer win. In general, CL are first agree to pay to get it. The seller just has no integrity and unethical. I hate seller like that.

So even if they contacted me for the green grocer, I doubt I will drive all the way since may be when I got there, they will say, o. Someone else offer a better price, I m out of luck!

"I am sorry  to let you down, but my son changed his mind and sell the emporium first, while researches the value of the other three sets. A***"

  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
I don't disagree with you at all. What they did was unfair to both of us. To have added Or Best Offer would have been the right thing to do. However, based on the price of Green Grocer other places I would likely buy it anyway and take the opportunity to tell them I know the person who bought the other two pieces and we both feel they played dirty.

I hope you won't hold it against me. Like you, I had no control over the situation, and surely you don't blame me for grabbing the final two sets I needed to complete the modular buildings.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
I am not against you. We both are victims. You just get the better end of it. We are adult Lego lover. No hard feelings.... I just miss this two to have all the modular buildings. I doubt they will let me have the green grocer for 250 anyway. Based on what we agree

I m not planning to sell it. So may be I will bricklink both instead of send the money to some unethical parents who doesn't know how to set a good example. To honor what their son promise! It is their price as I mention and I agree. If they didn't research and name the price, who can they blame? I always do my homework when I sell stuff on craigslist

Actually, I send an email mention about the purchase. But so far, no response yet. Here is the email I sent!

Now I see why you tell your dad or yourself txt about change of mind,  instead of selling it,  you will keep it for an extra hour and sell the cafe corner and market street for 750

As I said before,  I respect other people's decision.

Just think about this way,  you interview for a job,  you get the offer,  but then when you go in for the first day,  your boss tell you that you don't have that job any more cause someone willing to take less for their pay. How do you feel if you are in that position!
  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
Can't say I blame you for sending that email, but I don't think they will be bothered by it. Good luck finding the last two buildings you need. Did you get the one in the bay area for $80 recently?

Did you go to BBTB in March. I wonder if we've met.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
Yes. I was the one who get the $80 Market Street. I saw your response, that why I know you are the one who get the cafe corner and market street

No, I didn't go to BBTB. I just get back to Lego like last year. I was into gundam, SOC more. But with two toddlers at home, I guess Lego will make more sense compare to build Master Grade and Perfect Grade

Clubs can be a good way to get leads on people selling sets you might be looking for. Their dues are very resonable as well. Check them out on line at http://www.baylug.org/

Here is the response for the green grocer

You are right the Green Grocer is available and it would be $375, which is exactly half of $750.

Ps: I was not planning to turn around and sell the lego sets the same evening, but $750 was too good to pass on. I am sorry that it did not turn out as planned for you.
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
    And my response

Sorry,  I will be only interested if you will keep your initial offer of 200 or 250. It is the price you or you dad or your mom name it,  I didn't put a limit on it. You name the price, I said I agree to buy it. Then you revise the offer and I agree also.

If you intend for a bidding war,  please put best offer win on your CL posted, or take it on eBay

I buy and sell stuff from used car to baby stuff on CL a lot.  You are the first seller that I encounter  doing a typical bait and switch on buyer

I guess deal pending is not in your dictionary,  good luck on your sale.
  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
I wouldn't pay them that, i'd tell them they said both for $400 so it should be $200 not half of what someone else was willing to pay.

But of course it's completely your choice, but that might be enough to get the price back down at least some. What does Green Grocer go for o bricklink? I haven't looked in a while.

Found a Batman Arkham Asylum 7785 at a garage sale for $20. Box is trashed and Book one of instructions is missing, but most of the pieces seem to be there.

My son has been asking for this set for almost 2 years and I have always said too much money. I am now very popular at my house :-).

I just bought one of those too. Appears to be near mint and nearly complete for $46. Not bad I'd say!

Just picked up 2- SEASIDE HOUSE 7346 @ TRU for $33.99. I used a 20% off coupon, $20 in rewards and 89 cents in store credit. Works out to about 32% off msrp even though they were marked up to $54.99

Missed out on a great garage sale LEGO score.....did YOU get it?

So my inlaws visit a local annual citywide (Woodbury MN) garage sale event, & my mother in law is pretty good about looking out for video games (my other main hobby). Getting together for Mothers Day, I asked her if she found anything interesting. She didnt find gaming, but LET GO a largish box of LEGO for $50. She thought they were older pieces because according to her "the colors were different than nowadays". I dont understand that, & I didnt want to get into the whole bley thing w/ her.

Anyway, if you're in the Twin Cities MN (Mpls/St Paul) eastern suburbs, did you snag this box? If so, can you describe the haul? I'm still reeling from the disappointment.
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
More than likely it was Mega***** cause they have really different colours, or is your mother in law more savvy than that
  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
Hmmm true, I hadnt thought of that. She was sure they werent DUPLO though. I;ll ask next time I see her.

^ Look at it this way - Lego stored it for him for six months while it appreciated in value!
  • AFFOL_Shellz_BellzAFFOL_Shellz_Bellz Member Posts: 1,263
@ bsiu922 don't feel bad about missing out on CC and MS, there were a lot of substituted pieces, and missing pieces. I no longer regret all the bulk Lego we've bought. Still worth the price but the frustration level hit a 10.9!
  • bsiu922bsiu922 Member Posts: 439
@ AFFOL_Shellz_Bellz, thanks for the update! Saw the seller still stuck with the Green Grocer. Guess no one offer them enough to fill their greed!
