and was able to get to 2 minifigs. I was happy, but before anyone asks, I don't really buy for selling and I don't want to open the rabbit hole that is UCS. See as I was going to buy these sets eventually anyway, I figured getting a little kickback was nice enough.
I knew there was a reason I should stup messing with the [email protected] site...=(
Emily at Lego phone Customer Service is awesome! And I fully admit to saying that because she helped to override the sale price change to get me a good deal. And she was even nice about it.
Still not too happy with Lego decision to change the sale midway through (despite what the term say) and will have to rethink future decisions for online purchaes with them.
I know, sometimes I'm not too proud of myself either. Flame away - I prolly deserve it...=(
Bottom line is this sale was called May the fourth, so while it was supposed to last 4th AND 5th, I think people should have realized that the sale would get people buying sets, also since LEGO customer service was more than happy to get you the discount then I'm not sure why you are so upset
I still have 2 of my 3 orders still listed as 'Customer Service' as well. Just called and I was told they are still in the process phase and everything looks normal with the order. He said the orders are being reviewed by customer service because they are higher priced items.
When I asked he said the Imperial Shuttle is on backorder but the date may change. Kinda bummed about this as when I ordered the item was listed as 'in stock' but now because of the hold up it appears as though I have to wait as though I ordered it last night when it was showing as backordered.
UPDATE: Those two last orders have now changed to "In Process".
Hopefully things are moving along now and I'll get a couple of shipping notices
I did pick up a Fire Brigade though. Primarily because it's something I've been pushing myself to pick up, although I doubt I would've parted with my cash if the TC-14 minifig was Star Wars purchases only as Lego.com seemed to suggest.
Happy May The Fourth guys! Already lookin' forward to the next one!
:)
It's not much different than if the grocery store suddenly stopped honoring a sale price between the time I got in line to buy the item and when I reached the checker, without telling me the price had changed. Or a car dealer telling that the posted sticker price is not the correct price as I'm getting ready to write the check.
Yes, Lego has every "right" to do it - it is their sale - but I still find it deceptive and a bit sneaky. Not what I've come to expect from one of my favorite companies...
But, as you say, I got what I wanted and all is good, so water under the bridge. Sometimes even a 36yr-old dad can act more immature than his young children.
Lego does that to me...I deserve the chastizement. =)
Putting an item into your shopping cart is not "committing to purchase". I wouldn't regard it as deceptive at all. Better to think of it as an untimely coincidence or a stroke of bad luck. Next time don't hesitate!
:)
I remember only a decent discount on 10215 (in January) but I don't know if it was put on sale during last May promotion.
* I had no chance to order 10212 IS now, and I'm wondering if there will be deeper discount on that one.
I didn't hesitate. I added it to the bag at 20% off, took another 2-3 minutes to add a couple non-SW items, pressed checkout, saw the discount and during the process of walking through ship address-next-payment-next-confirm-ne... it went to full price.
It is actually bad programming on behalf of whomever Lego commissioned to build their online check-out system.
I know I shouldn't be surprised - the on-line system has suffered issues in the past.
Either way, my wife has thoroughly scolded me and I return you all the the regularly scheduled programming ;-)
