I'm feeling old again ... all these parents having these tumblers ... I have these tumblers!!!
The Fighter was only missing a single green 1x2 jumper. The Interceptor has a couple more missing pieces. Once I get access to the rest of my parts, I think it will just be the two printed elements I'll need to replace.
Thankfully the Fighter came with the light-up Vader. Just missing the Interceptor Pilot to make them truly complete.
Next up will be #7260 Wookiee Catamaran and #7250 Clone Scout Walker once I rescue their pieces from the bulk!
Doing #5978 from collection. One of the punched studs (mentioned in the brag thread) is concealed in step 3.
I figured I'd have to make some part substitutions which are already apparent by step 6. My son won't care.
All light grey & dark grey are replaced with light bluish & drk bluish greys because I abhor those colors & dismissed them from my collection.
Yeah, I called CS about the missing parts and bag and even though it was midnight on the weekend and I talked with a robot I got an email today saying they were sending the various needed parts. The only bad thing had nothing to do with CS as I backed my chair into a stack of storage bins and spread thousands of LEGO parts on the floor!!! Kept me busy all day yesterday into today! Thanks for the confirmation on the sticker location. I got it taken care of this morning.
I decided to save #76255 for later, for double points or a good GWP. Then I read about the Majisto GWP. 👍
One of the better modulars out there, and fan-made at that! It's also larger than I thought: 2 baseplates wide instead of 1 and a half.
A missing #6166859 TILE 2X2, DEG. 90, W/ DEG. 45 CUT in Black, which I temporarily substituted with a Dark Grey one and, in its place, a #4107761 PLATE 1X2 WITH SLIDE in Black, which is not used anywhere in the set, in either car.
Hopefully Lego CS can send me a replacement. Normally, I wouldn't bother for one minor piece, but I don't have a spare of that part in my collection.
I would guess that plate with slide somehow ended up in the bin full of 2x2 tiles, and the scale didn't notice because the two parts must weigh nearly the same.
My #75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon had a 6x6 round plate in place of a 4x6 rectangular plate- both parts present in that set. I emailed CS about it, but told them not to send a replacement- I had recently gotten a couple dozen 4x6 rectangles from the PAB wall, so was happy to "trade" one for a 6x6 round. I have every confidence CS would have sent me one if I'd wanted it.
The first bag felt a lot like the classic sets: tons of small builds and some nice part usage in there as well. I did not see that window-drawer coming! Plus, it's really nice furniture to add to the Jazz Club. If future years are like this, I strongly suggest waiting to get the associated GWP with the modular.
The truck is also really satisfying. It feels properly scaled to other Lego vehicules. And the fact that everything fits inside is a huge, huge plus. Great set, totally worth getting on the second hand market if you were hesitating!
In the foreground are the extras from #76253 and #41733.
Just after I finished it (about an hour and 45 minutes to build) a gentleman walked by and asked if he could bring his grandsons over. I said "Sure!" The boys were about 3 and 4 years old. They liked it! Their grandmother took a picture to show their dad.
They got to see the bison- they were quite near the trail.
One picture in sun, one in shade.
I think it wouldn't need much of a redesign to make it possible; seems like a missed opportunity!
I do quite like the ship! I might swap some of the grey parts to brighter colors, it's a little dull... ;)
(I might do similar to Baby Rocket's ship... Replace all the greys with Bright Yelliw, Cool Yellow, and Vibrant Yellow!)
(The white and black 6x8 plates are not included, they're from my parts.)
I haven't even cracked mine open yet, but that's quite disheartening.
