Finally! According to UPS tracking, these were to be delivered today by 7 p.m. A little after 7, still not here, so I checked the tracking again. At 7:17 they updated it to say that they had updated the delivery time. But it still said "by 7 p.m."
    It arrived at 7:25.
Not a big deal, but confusing.
Very well packed with crumpled paper.
I'm thinking of building the jet tonight and taking the elephant to the park tomorrow- maybe the bison will be visible!

Not much lego building right now, just buying and shelving. Some fabuland lots are on the way from Germany.

Also, I figured out how to turn PVC into ABS: I’m selling LPs at a record convention this weekend then hitting up the lego store the next day for a spree, assuming the sale goes well.

So tomorrow, the weather is predicted to be sunny, light breeze, 45°F/8°C. Not especially warm, but I'm impatient for spring. So I'm taking my #80041 Mei's Dragon Jet, #80043 Yellow Tusk Elephant, #40587 Easter Basket, and #30643 Easter Chickens to the county park. I'll cook some hotdogs over a fire 🌭 and look for the bison. If I keep the fire going, I can warm up my hands. I suppose I could try building with gloves on!

I've struggled to not build those sets already!

Spent the last few days meticulously dusting my display sets. Even the ones behind glass. One downside to this hobby!

I've been looking over what sets I would buy next the past couple months and I think I've settled upon the Pyramid of Giza as one of the next ones I would like to buy and build.  I think it would go well with the adult small model sets like the T Rex Breakout and the new Indiana Jones one.

Hi, everyone. Been busy organizing, still. Reading 1 Samuel, learning about listening to God. No pictures yet, but the last 6 white 16x16s came, so I have to click everything together, and wait for more green ones, but we found out that my cousin needs to level the wood boards first as they aren't even. So, I'm organizing, and building the A Frame Cabin for my camping area. Most time consuming wall ever. Pretty, just parts/time intensive. Excited for LEGO 2K Drive. LEGO sells the retail Awesome Edition for those of us who want to avoid Gamestop...

Beautiful picture but not a scene I’m looking for at the end of March is this typical for your area @Marshallmario

Typical in that Tuesday it was 55 degrees and I was at the park with my granddaughter playing in the wood chips while today I spent 2 hours with the snowblow!

I just heard on the radio that for the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota) the record high temperature for March 26 is 81°F/27°C. The coldest high for this date is 12°F/-11°C!

^wow I thought that’s quite a swing, but then I looked up Alexandria, Virginia and it is not too far off - high 87f in 1921 and low 23f in 1955.

@Marshallmario, that looks like my view right now. We went from mid to high 50's to 10" of snow this weekend. Spring has sprung!

Fun, yet the tiles and trees made it for a daunting build.

@Modeltrainman looks good.  Still debating whether to get for my sister - which of course works for my village as she lives in my house - and when for best GWP(s).

My record sale went well… so I bought an expensive lego set without guilt (for once!) & picked up some BAM parts that were interesting.

I had trouble deciding between Rivendell or Mos Eisley but went with the latter since it should retire first.

And then tonight I booked 2 days/nights in a castle room at legoland (CA) for June. My boys had so much fun last summer we’re going to road trip from Washington state this time. I start a 3 month sabbatical next week, so I’m looking forward to more free time with sunny adventures, lego building, and house projects (not as fun).

Sounds like a VERY successful record sale!

My wife and I always contemplated road tripping from WA to CA, but never pulled the trigger. Now that we're doing it from eastern MT to WA, it doesn't seem so bad.

Today's status: getting back into Lego after a few months distracted by other things. Sold some so I can go buy more, and trying to sort the last shoebox of tiny parts I've been avoiding.

They didn’t even bother to change the actual product in any way! Not as hilarious as the ‘modern convertible racing truck’ Mater unfortunately.

My Lego status today is: NOT going to the store because we got at least 8"/20cm of snow last night. The electricity has been off for more than 8 hours so far, with no estimate of when it will be restored. They started plowing our parking lot a few minutes ago.

On the plus side, you clearly still have access to the internet over you phone, so at least you won't be bored until you use all the battery up! :P More seriously though, hopefully the electricity is back sooner rather than later.  Stay safe and warm out there!

Looking at new sets at Target
#41728 might be cool if I didn't already have so many restaurant sets, often new releases are similar subject matter - not sure if that's uninspired or if good for new fans. Either way, not an additional purchase from me, lately I try to avoid being gotta catch em all

I've set myself the task of sorting some PAB cups before I build #76254 Baby Rocket's Ship.("You can play with your LEGO after you've done your chores!") :)

For now, I'm just sorting by color. Eventually the main colors will get divided into bricks, plates, slopes, etc. Some colors don't get subdivided, like pink: I have so little that it's easy enough to dump that tub on the bed and see what I have.

Was going to get a couple of the Pick a Brick design sets that Lego just made available in Europe but almost €30 for most of them and only around 200 pieces is a bit much. Some nice ones there but think I'll just get the instructions and use my own parts.

  • Lo1sJessLo1sJess Member Posts: 707
@vizzitor some of those look good - not available in US yet and prices do look high for piece count.  I’m going with your plan😁

The 3 I'm interested in I'm sure I have most if not all the parts I need in my collection.  Just downloaded the instructions for the ones I want to build.  May not be the exact colors they used for some but that shouldn't matter.

Feelin' guilty and impure--some of the Winter Village sets my mother had stolen and the GWP's available with them are available as knockoffs and I'm sorely tempted to get them for her so she'll quit griping about "I need something to build" and rejecting every option I come up with like finishing the knockoff Big Boy I have started.

Those remasters of Classic Pirates are looking mighty tempting too...

Bought a bulk lot from a guy I bought some random castle pieces, thinking I would recreate those old sets, which I did (sort of... Still missing some things)
But on top of that, I managed to get out of the lot about 16-20 classic space sets, (3 fully complete) and the rest missing in total about 150 pieces. Highlights would be galaxy explorer (the one before 1990), #6986, #6955, #6781. Ialso found parts of #6953 and #6987, including the cratered baseplate. I'm stoked to get them completed.

And more so I convinced the guy to sell them for merely pennies, as I only wanted the missing parts from the initial castle sets, lol. Little did I know what was in the box.

Mildly annoyed. Used an Amazon gift card to get two #75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Packs, they arrived in this condition. Each wrapped in a layer of small bubble wrap, then both put in an unpadded envelope. I'm going to recycle the boxes, but what if they were meant to be gifts?

As long as they have the figures in them! But ya it is a pet peeve when boxes get this damaged when your order arrives.
