2014 Mrs Speedy bought me #31015, I picked up second and third copy with the intention of building the full Emerald Express train. I built the small coach and modified the train to make it longer. The third set ended up as part of a 70th birthday present for my dad. Despite his stroke affected hands struggling, we built it together, like we'd built LEGO together 40yrs before. It's been sat on his shelf in his study with his other toys. His passing late last year means we need to clear the house, so I've been tackling a few boxes every so often. While in the study I grabbed the train back, broke it down and finally built the last carriage. Now it can sit on the desk in my study as nice reminder of him

Had a chance to put some of my western modules down next to another collaborator at a COWLUG meeting this past weekend. This is still a WIP, but roughly half the final display. We'll put it all together April 1st!

#40744 Piñata. I'm at the park; in the background is the picnic table where I built #10497 Galaxy Explorer and #75337 AT-TE Walker last summer.
Today I saw: Canada geese, mallards, common mergansers, hooded mergansers, gulls, an osprey, more than a dozen bald eagles, and six deer. :) @Lo1sJess

Wow, been stuck inside most of the day! I’ve probably seen 8-10 bald eagles spread out in an area of the river a couple times but it’s usually just one or two at a time. You must be by big water @560Heliport. I got the Pinata and have been wanting to build it I might just have to go over to Huntley meadows, a wetlands park nearby and see the what the beavers have been up to and build it Friday or Saturday.

@Lo1sJess When they damned the Mississippi River at Hastings a few miles downstream in 1930, it turned Spring Lake into a backwater of the Mississippi.
I've been going to this park for three years. I've seen lots of birds, and a mink; muskrat; beaver; red, grey, and fox squirrels; gophers; garter and bull snakes; and painted and snapping turtles.
Only one bison visible today. :)

I had my #40460 Roses and #40524 Sunflowers in a glass tumbler. I got a couple dozen of the 3x3x2 curved window frames and the transparent panes from PAB, so I mimicked it in Lego.

7 or 8 years ago, the very large bank I worked at (as a furniture contractor) was moving their regional headquarters to new buildings. So of course there was a lot of accumulated "junk" that we were tasked with removing. The tumblers and some plates came home with me.
I also got an acrylic display case/shelf thing- 6 feet wide, about 2 feet tall, 8 -10 inches deep. Transparent acrylic, just beautiful.

Had a bit of a splurge on SC sets with this year's polybag, the 963 and the Mclaren set arriving this week. I've been a massive fan of the F1 since its creation in the 1990s....

The book is an amazing read charting the history of the car from the 80s F1 teams success up to the late 90s Le Mans wins....

I was lucky enough to visit the only Mclaren showroom in the world in the mid 90s in London and crawl all over the car. Working not too far from the factory in Woking I would see them on the roads a lot. This version is brilliant and really captures the LM version well.

The sketches are from 1989 and the first look at a three seater, central driving position supercar. I still maintain its the greatest supercar ever made.

I guess I'm showing my age here as people's parents have these glasses but I bought the same ones brand new probably 20 or 30 years ago.

#80043 Yellow Tusk Elephant. I love this set! Monkie Kid is a worthy successor to Legends of Chima.
IMO, sets from $50-$100 are generally the best value: big enough to have lots of detail, small enough to be easy to display, and swooshable- or... stompable? Whatever would be the equivalent of swooshable, for a mech. Or elephant- I'm not sure if this is supposed to be an elephant or a mech (and I like that!)
