It still works ( eg #10300 ) , but you have to refresh the page once to give the system time to update the hyperlink.

Speaking of blacksmiths, my $45 mystery lot arrived and indeed it is #21325 Medieval Blacksmith. In an ironic twist, the blacksmith himself appears to be the only thing missing.

The lot also contained bags 2-4 and 6-8 of #75318 The Child, a #75892 McLaren Senna missing one part, and some badly beaten and chewed hunks of Star Wars sets. For a bulk lot weighing only six pounds, it’s very random.

The Lord of the Rings Brickheadz came in yesterday's mail!
I'm super excited for the return of the theme, even if it is just a receding hairline Frodo at this time.

I shared a great mod (not mine) for Frodo's hair on instagram, you may have seen it direct as well. Sorting his hairline with a few 1x1 rounded tiles etc. It's such a strange omission when a hobbit's shaggy hair is such a part of their 'look'.

I also can't look at the Balrog without seeing Amidala's elaborate hairpiece.

The Balrog is just too cute for a demon. Demons are bad, so...Really not sure why they made him so adorable. LEGO should've paired Gandalf with Pippin... I mean...I know 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS!' but...

Basically, things that were cheap, yet so new, no extras, yet.

Today's capture from the nearby hypermarket. Wish there were more orcs, but I'm happy I found these 2, considering there were only about 30 bags in total o the shelves.

Had to kill time before my Apple Store appointment this morning, so I walked to the nearby Lego store and to my surprise they had the new January sets that I've been wanting in stock (with the exception of the brown spaceman). Its all been showing out-of-stock till now. Picked up #10996 for my son for his upcoming 2nd birthday.

I also bought #76917. This is by far my favorite movie car of all time. 2 Fast 2 Furious had a massive impact on my 13 year old brain when it came out. I'm very happy to have it in Lego form.

I'll buy the new Star Wars stuff I want at some other time.

Glad to finally get this one in.  I waited too long on it and it got backordered.  It came damaged, but that's okay, the instructions weren't damaged, not that I would've even cared that much because I use PDF.

Latest series CMFs are a bit elusive around here. LEGO Bluewater had only two left, my three local supermarkets have put them in plastic cases or are completly out. Smyths Toys probably have them, but that means a drive out and standing on the side of the tills squeezing packets while getting jostled! Luckily I've got an order in for a full set, that should arrive this week sometime.

We saw a newly opened box in Morrisons on Friday, and Cathy just asked "How many spacebabies do you still need?" And I said "Just 3 or 4, along with 3 Falconers, an Orc and a Robot". She said "As long as you can find me Marie Antoinette, go for it". She actually helped me search and found a falconer and a spacebaby! The 'Rococo Aristocrat' was very easy...

She said I still need an extra baby - apparently a squad of babies is 5 strong.

Grabbed a brown spaceman and baby off of Bricklink this morning. I just don't have the time and patience to go find one in the wild. It inspired me to finally purchase the LEGO Minifigure A Visual History book. Found one on Walmart.com for $30, now I feel complete!

I picked up #60350 Lunar Research Base yesterday on Walmart clearance. It was only marked down to $100 (from $130, so about 23% off). I was hoping to get it for closer to 30-40% off, but the FOMO got the best of me.
I still haven't opened all of my 2019 City Space sets either, but I really liked both that series of these as well as this series. One of these days I'll open them all up and set up a really fun space/moon base!

I have 3 Orcs, 6 Falconers & 7 Spacemen with Baby.  Might try for another Falconer or two so I can change some heads & hairstyles to make a whole falconery team.  I ended up with so many of the spacemen because I found 4 in a display in one Walmart that had everything but the Orcs and Falconers so I was compelled to grab all the Spacemen I found.

Seems like many who get the 6 pack from Lego #71037 get at least one duplicate pair so I guess I can count myself as lucky:
The Falconer, the Queen, Girl on Rocking Horse, Gamekeeper with Koala, Carrot Guy, and the Orc! Six different.

I got lucky with my two boxes & got all 12 different minifigs.  Personally I think this is the better 6 pack combo to end up with so you did good.

I'll get those pesky Rebels now... found #75347 TIE Bomber at Hub Hobby in Little Canada, Minnesota.
$67.99, but I used $5 of rewards points- I'm not even sure what % off their rewards program offers, but all they need is your phone number, so why not.
I was glad to find it (there are four more on the shelf, if you "need" one)- none at Lego store at MOA, none at Target or Walmart, a Barnes & Noble couldn't find the one their computer said they had- but the employee was very helpful in trying to find it.

Picked up #76904 for $20 and #10267 for $75 this afternoon. Boxes were open, but all parts are here. I was never fond of the gingerbread house, but it’s one of three Winter Village sets I don’t have, and maybe I can customize it to a more subdued A-frame look.

That sign looks like it says $70 for the Lego Friends Art School, not the Viking ship.

The Viking ships were lined up over the price in a locked cabinet so I asked if they honor The price and they did. They moved the other set over to where they belong in the cabinet afterwards.

I guess my point was that the sign specifically stated $70 for the Friends set regardless of where it was. I don't see any misrepresentation there. If it was a generic $70 price tag under the Viking ship set, I would understand them honoring the price. I have never been a fan of Walmart, but in this case I think they were taken advantage of. Sorry.

That’s fine, I saw the price and thought it was on clearance because of the orange sticker. I asked the guy that opened the case to scan it to see. And he took me over to customer service and asked them adjust the price for me. I guess they have policies that cover these situations.

I also think it was pretty obvious to someone who was carefully checking that the price wasn't for the ship. I would still enquire if they would honour it for the product in that position. I do not get too upset about asking such requests of any multi-million dollar corporation that has so many other ways of making the average shopper pay over the odds.

How so? I paid for the item and left with a receipt. The item was on a shelf in a locked cabinet with a price sticker where the item was placed. I asked the attendant to unlock the case and scan the item. He had me take a picture of the shelf price and walked the set over to customer service and he asked for them to adjust the price.

If they would have denied the price adjustment I would have not argued or asked to see a manager or anything like that. At the time I could only read the price numbers. I couldn’t read the smaller print without my reading glasses.

Saying it sounds like theft is a bit of a stretch. They even checked the receipt on the way out the door.

Maybe theft is the wrong word to use at the moment you purchased the set if one is to believe your story that you did not know that the price sticker and/or set was not corrected placed and was too small for you to read.  Now that you are called out, are you a honorable and honest person to either return the set or pay the difference to Walmart knowing what you know now?  If not, then it's theft.
  • RedbullgivesuwindRedbullgivesuwind Member Posts: 2,115
Walmart could have corrected the error at any point between the OP asking to get the set from the cabinet and at the counter selling the set for $70. It didn't seem like they demanded that they get the set at that price and just inquired if they could. The Walmart employee made the choice to sell it it doesn't seem like theft or anything terrible to me. I would have done exactly the same of a multi million pound company.

Theft or no theft.  Interesting discussion.  Good example that there are gray areas and what's what is often in the eye of the beholder.  Almost always more than one angle to a story (possible false advertising? - interesting angle too).  One interesting thing I noted and would like to call out is that, more than once, "multi million dollar/pound company" was called out.  Would everyone feel the same if it was less than million, mom and pop shop?  Does that, or should that make a difference?  Not necessarily looking for an answer/response.  Just something more to consider in your own position on this.

Well, last night I had a little time and decided that I would make some attempts at the few CMFs that I was after.

Started at Barnes & Noble. It was later in the evening, but the store was quiet. This was my first time to this particular store, so I wasn't sure where they might have them. Sure enough, they were in a box at the central help desk. There were two workers and two customers chatting it up, so I lingered and looked at other sets for a bit. Once the finally left, I started to walk over, only to hear over the intercom that the store was about to close. I figured I needed more than 5ish minutes, so decided to go elsewhere.

Stopped briefly at Khols, but no luck.

Finally, went to Scheels. I think I only ever saw a single box worth of Series 23 figs be put out, so I wasn't sure of my odds. Thankfully, they had between 4 to 5 boxes worth of bags hanging on pegs near their LEGO. I was really only after the Brown Spaceman/Baby, Paperboy, Conservationist, Carrot Guy, and T-Rex. On the first row, the first bag I picked ended up being the Brown Spaceman. The second bag was the Paperboy. The third bag was the Conservationist. The Carrot Guy and T-Rex ended up taking a few more bags, but I had everything I wanted within the first line of bags. (Figured I'd leave the Orcs and Falconers to everyone else!)

Lastly, at midnight EST, I logged on and snagged the Disney 100th Anniversary BHz, the LOTR Brickheads, and the Tusken Raider.

Busy LEGO day for me to be sure!

Definitely not theft.  @sweetness34 asked Walmart to honor the price, and Walmart chose to do just that.
