@PJ76uk and out of stock an hour after it went on sale! I can wait to add it to my collection. Nice to see brick built lights and stripes

@Speedman29 I picked it up in Meadowhall Lego store on New Years Day, staff were continuously refilling shelves as it seemed every other shopper was taking one! Wouldn't have surprised me if it went out of stock! The Speed Champions sets usually get discounted at places like Sainsburys not too long after release so you might be better off waiting! Me, I couldn't wait after seeing it on the shelf!

Last night I busted the seals on #75329 Death Star Trench Run. It was a Christmas gift and, instead of putting it with my other unopened sets, decided to have some fun and actually build. (This might sound like a normal thing to do. However, I'm still living with my in-laws, sharing a single bedroom with my family of 5, while we wait for our house to finish building. Space is tight.)

This is the first set I've built that has a lot of greebling. I found it very satisfying. Very little that was repeated throughout the build. Every page was a fun new discovery of how the parts would be used.

Additionally, I really love the micro scale ships. The designers really did a good job on this one. I think my only critique would be that I wish the back wall was a bit higher. But, that's only a small thing. All in all, I LOVE it!

Looks like the Trash Compactor diorama is down to $72 at Walmart. Still a bit more than I'd like to pay for it, but might need to consider it in order to complete the set!

I've embellished #71786 Zane's Ice Dragon Creature (why Ice Dragon Creature? This implies that it's not actually a dragon?) with 1x1 Dots tiles- Aqua 1/4 circle tiles on the left side, and White Glow rounds on the right.

Working on a two-tier waterfall. Next part will be hard - burying it in a rock face!

So I figured out that some of the Speed Champions can fit into Funko Hard protectors pretty good.

@PJ76uk it is just a bit of a fragile build in places with some weak connections. One of those builds where you try to add a part and need to brace against one side of the model, causing bits to drop off. Like most MOCs it could do with the touch of a real Lego designer.

Still an amazing build however and kudos to the person who designed it. A solid B+ passing grade.

An unfortunate side effect of following moc instructions, along with floating bricks that only get connected a dozen steps later!

Since Lego are unlikely to do an Expanse theme, mocs are the only way to go! I was tempted by the Rocinante but I'll keep an eye out for a more stable build!

It is pretty good, and won't drop apart now built... but moving it is a scary job.

I pieced together #3739 from my inventory. I am missing only the figs, 6 elements for a total of 30 parts.

So... I like to color-coordinate my clone troopers with their AT-TE.
I can also match their blasters to them.
When will we get Vibrant Coral clone troopers?

Looks like my latest haul wont pan out re: classic sets, there are just too many missing parts. I decided my best bet is to make the superhero sets that are present (maybe 3) & #31109 which looks complete to me.

BTW any owners of #6483 Coastal Patrol (or owners of these 2 electric elements) how loud should the sound element be? The one I found is barely audible, especially when the red micromotor is running (assuming it's noisy due to age). Would a drop of oil to the motor help quiet the motor element itself?

Some of #1793 is showing up in this haul,  enough to keep tpo build. Apparently over on peeron.com the MSRP of #1783 is unknown (a YT review concurs) but a friend just told me it was $40 BITD. Whom do I contact at peeron to update this info, or is it a now-defunct site? I know no instructions there are newer than 2011.

Also, would this information be appreciated here? He just kinda laughed it off when I said ppl would like to know that info.

#1783 above should be #1793 of course. Typed in haste
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,280
@gelkster $40 for #1793 sounds right. I own all of the Unitron sets, and I think the three smaller, #1787, #1789, and #1793 were $20, $30, and $40.
#6991 Monorail Transport Base was $169.99 and worth every penny!

IIRC,  those 1990s sound elements were not very loud, and the red motors were, so yours might be perfectly fine!

I just looked up the sound element on BL and learned that they let you play the sounds!

@evancelt great as always - really like how you get depth in water and waves breaking.  But gotta say, knowing you take these apart, looking at all those little plates and tiles makes my finger ache!

Halfway through Sanctum Sanctorum. Love the build and the details, but DAMN are the stickers annoying. Applying them (especially the clear-backed ones) is the absolute opposite of fun. And quality of some of them, oof...

I started Loop. So far it's been fairly similar to Roller Coaster. That's fine. The build experience may not be the best, but the end result was really fun. Loop should be the same. I kind of wish they'd put the little mini cart builds throughout the bags instead of all in Bags 1. My fingers get so sore from all the towers.

Sunday morning over a cuppa while everyone else was in bed....
I do like these bricksketches, they make nice slim shelf fillers behind appropriate minifigs or sets.

Well done on finishing @GrannyLEGO - it looks fab!
@evancelt - are you doing romans or barbarians?
@Yo_dA - That Skyline looks fab! Do you have a parts list for the pieces you needed to swap out? That looks really nice for a non-stickered version.
@bandit778 - it's a cool set with fantastic minifigs. Your wife made a great choice! I also loved the droid in that episode.

Some of each! I'll have a roman fort, celtic farmstead, and barbarian longship landing on my half. My friend will have a roman temple, barbarian longship, and a pier/town

Don't tell the angry robot warrior, but he's holding his laser gun upside down.  Gonna get some nasty recoil when it goes pew pew.

Building these postcard sets. Fun little builds. Also built the Jazz club and T2 camper van over the past couple of weeks.

So is that rabbit doing a poop (the gold round flat tiles) and emitting gas (the cloud parts)?

Listen, if you had a giant rabbit that pooped gold coins, you would parade it around town too.

You're right. The instructions have you build it upside down, to show the placement of the 1x1 plate, then flip it over to place it in his hand. I didn't look at that last step because I know how to put items in minifig hands! (Obviously not!)  :)

No, then somebody'd want to take it from me or kill it. I'd keep my fuzzy friend on the down-low and VERY well fed...
