Anyone going to new Lego store opening in NH, USA?

I just learned that a new Lego store is opening in New Hampshire, USA.  It will be at the Pheasant Lane Mall at 310 Daniel Webster Hwy Space W137, Nashua, NH 03060.  They are having a "soft opening" on 11/4/22.  I'm going to call them to confirm if and when they're doing any grand opening, perhaps with unique sets/figures to commemorate the event.  I'm also going to ask if they'll have a Lego Passport stamp, which I collect in my Passport as I travel.
Is anyone else planning to go?  Since this is my state, I'm planning to go 11/4/22 at 10:00 am when they open.  I'll post here if I learn about a grand opening event date and time.
It will be exciting to shop in tax free NH especially during double points and GWP.  I resorted to buying online, but sets and GWP may be out of stock there while being in stock at local stores.  It will be nice to not drive to MA to get GWP, paying tax which offsets the bonus.

This is very welcome news - the first LEGO Store in tax-free New Hampshire!  It will be interesting to see how this store affects sales in nearby Massachusetts stores, especially Burlington...
...observe how close this store will be to the NH-MA border.  Just step across that line and immediately save $53 on a big AT-AT =oD

I've been hoping a store would open up in NH for quite a while for those tax-free savings!  ...although I would have guessed it would have been at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH.  ...but this works too.

Man, I haven't been to Pheasant Lane Mall since June 2011 (according to my old Foursquare check-ins on Swarm).  I was visiting the Rockingham Park Mall occasionally over the years to swing by the Apple Store for tax-free hardware.  If Pheasant Lane has both Apple AND Lego, I guess that's going to be changing and I'll go there instead.  (Bonus: Lunch or dinner at B-Dubs!)

If that 11/4/2022 @ 10am time can be confirmed, I'll head up there after I drop the kid off at preschool.  :)

If #40528 can be confirmed, I may have to make a trip there.

I called Lego Customer Support and they had no information about the store opening.  I tried to call the store number (late on Saturday) and got a generic voicemail.  I'll try them again on Monday to see if I can get more info.
Wow, it's comical how that mall is actually on the state line.
Thanks for the reminder about #40528.  I've been wanting a Lego store set for years so I'd love to get that one (or a few to make a larger store).

    Comical indeed!
Park in Massachusetts, shop in New Hampshire =oD  They even shaved off the corner of JC Penney to keep the structure in the Live Free or Die state.

I spoke to someone at the store.  They said to call on Thursday 11/3/22 for information about store opening events and that they will be open Friday 11/4/22.  They don't have a passport stamp but they have an equivalent Pheasant Lane sticker (same as the 5th Ave NYC store I just visited (honestly weak for the flagship Lego store to not have a stamp after being open for over a year)).
As of now, I'm planning to be there Fri 11/4/22 at 10 am.  I'll check with them Thurs to see if they have a grand opening planned with unique items and #40528.  I'll post here when I know more.

I called the store again today.  They don't have any plans for a store opening event yet.  I won't be around for two weeks, so I'll attend the soft opening since I might miss a grand opening.
I'll be there Fri 11/4/22 at 10 am, staying until maybe 10:30 am.  I'll be wearing my red Classic Space shirt, so say hello if you see me.

I might be there a little after that.  Depends how quick I can get some family stuff taken care of...and traffic coming up from MA.  (Fortunately, I don't start work until noon.  Great advantage of working remotely for a West Coast company.)

I'll be the ridiculously tall guy in the green and black jacket.

I go to school in Lowell so found out about this walking in to eat at that mall's chick-fil-a a month or so ago. Gonna skip the soft opening I think, waiting to make the trip over until they do some sort of grand opening event since I'm not usually in the area on Fridays

Family ended up starting slow today, so looks like I’ll be a lot later than expected (if I even make it at all). :(

tl;dr: Great store, excited crowd, grand opening in early January, check mall website for details, never pay full price.

The soft opening was a big success.  There was a large crowd at 10 am, thinning to reasonable levels by 11 am.  Customers were gushing about not paying sales tax, excited to talk about what they wanted and their collections.  There were a shocking amount of staff members available to help customers.  There were few children, not surprisingly.
The store is a nice wide space.  One customer told me it was twice the size of nearby Burlington (a typical narrow/deep mall store like so many others).  Some sets were not available, having not yet arrived.  Still, the shelves were full of relevant sets including many holiday sets and huge exclusives.  Some of the display space was still empty so they'll continue to grow into the space.  The BAM bar was the new style with containers in a cylinder at child height.  It was perfectly organized (for now) and stocked with bulldogs, toy bunnies, and teal boomboxes (and generic non-holiday figures).
Many people were spending $200 - $600 on full priced sets while getting no double points and only a weak GWP.  As noted above, maybe they were MA residents glad for the huge tax savings.  I wish I could teach everyone what I've learned about always getting deals on Lego, never paying full price.  After my visit, I went to the Target, connected to the mall and a 3 minute walk from the Lego store.  Yup, I saw other smart shoppers who had come from the Lego store (with tiny Lego bags) checking out the deals there.
The grand opening will be in early January, perhaps 1/6/23.  I was told this by the manager from Burlington.  He said to check the mall website for details.  Don't wait until January; check frequently to ensure you don't miss it.
The Pheasant Lane store is a great spot for Lego fans in NH and those who want to avoid sales tax.  It was a smart move for Lego to open this store.

Thanks for the update.  So no lego store promo then it sounds like (forgive me for not remembering the set number).  I may or may not have been dealing with a health issue so today was not a good day for gallivanting.  I'm hoping January will be better for a visit!

Soft openings don't have those promos. You have to wait for the grand opening for those.

I wish I could have gone, but we ended up keeping the kiddo home from school and I had to stay with him.  Hopefully I can make it to the official grand opening.  Odd that it might not be until January.  You'd think they'd want to hype it up before the Christmas sales...but maybe they know that will be busy anyway and they want to hype it to get some post-Christmas store traffic?

I almost made it to the grand opening for the store in downtown San Francisco, but the crowd was insane so I gave up.  Wasn't worth that hassle and I'd never have been able to get one of the limited sets.
  • FireFox31FireFox31 Member Posts: 270
Yes, I think it's in January to attract buyers after the holiday season, not compete with it.  For the grand opening, I would show up at 7 am (or when the mall opens?) to get in line.  This is likely the only grand opening I'll ever attend so I want to be darn sure I get the promos.  (Sadly, there's a large chance I won't be able to attend 1/6/23, but I'll try.)

I know it's still pretty early, but any update on the grand opening?
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,177
Any updates?  (Granted, I haven't googled it in a few weeks...)
  • FireFox31FireFox31 Member Posts: 270
A recent promotional email from Lego mentioned that the Pheasant Lane store will have their grand opening on the weekend of Fri 1/6/23 through Sun 1/8/23.  I called the shop and they confirmed those dates.  They said to check back after 1/1/23 for more specifics about the grand opening.

I'm planning to arrive at 7 am on Friday 1/6/23.  I want to be sure I'm in line and able to get any sweet promo sets which are available.  While I'm waiting, I'll be glad to talk to any other fans who are there.  I'll be wearing my red Classic Space shirt.
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,177
Oh man...7am?  I was hoping to show up an hour early to get in line!  I have to Google what time the mall opens and plan.

Any word on what promo sets will be available on what days?  I may have to call and find out.
  • FireFox31FireFox31 Member Posts: 270
The store said to "call in January for more details about promotions."  I can only go on Friday so I have to hope they're giving out the best thing at the first available time.  This is likely the only store grand opening I will ever attend so I want to my best.

  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,425
At store openings I have been to in the past, sometimes the best promo was on Saturday.

    All right, so I called.

Dude was very nice and took the time to explain.  If I'm understanding him correctly:

On all three days, the activities start around 1pm, but you can obviously shop before then and take advantage of the promos (more on that later).  Master Builder will be there by 1pm and I believe will be there all three days.

First 750 people in the store will get a 2x4 tile printed with I heart Lego or something like that.  I think that is for all three days as well but I could be wrong because I was more interested in the promo set.  Unsure if a purchase is needed for the tile.

A tote bag is free with any purchase.

The much desired (at least by me) #40528 (I hope I have that right) will be available all three days for any purchase of $120!!!

When they run out on a given day, they won't pull from another day's stock, in order to have the promo all three days, though...so that could be good or bad.

I think that's all for now.

Thanks for the info.  I was just about to call them so you saved time for me and them (explaining it again).
So, a gift with $120 spent.  I hope we can double up with the Blacktron GWP at $190 spent (and the VIP polybag at $50 spent).  I wasn't planning to spend $190, but might as well if I'm already $120 there.
I'm still planning to arrive at 7-8am on Fri.  Look for me in the red Classic Space shirt and say hi.

The store employees said the promos are supposed to be handed out at 1 pm when the event starts. Yet, they may hand them out before that if the line is small enough. Currently, the line is small, few people who braved the elements.
  • FireFox31FireFox31 Member Posts: 270
Nope, promos are available starting firmly at 1 pm. Consider lining up in advance of that around 12:30 pm. They're doing a master build in the hall starting at 1 pm as well.

    What!!!!
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,177
Is this also affecting the promo set #40528?
  • FireFox31FireFox31 Member Posts: 270
They're definitely not distributing #40528 until 1 pm. I didn't hear staff mention the promo to the many other customers who seemed to be spending less than $120. They might have given the custom Pheasant Lane tile to everyone at any time but I didn't notice. To be extra sure, call the store to confirm the exact times. I don't want to mislead anyone to miss out.

@FireFox31 did you get the promos you wanted - the tile and the Lego store, I think?
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,177
I got the goods!  Ended up spending enough to get the classic space set too.  They were doing everything starting at 10am.

I did manage to get all of the promos.  Since I love a good deal, I optimized my order to spend exactly $190.  It included one set already on sale (#40525 Endgame Battle), two exclusives which likely won't go on sale (#40646 Daffodils and #40461 Tulips), and three sets I could have gotten for 20% off (#31130 Sunken Treasure Mission, #60346 Barn and Animals, #76832 XL-15 Spaceship).  I overpaid by $31 ($23?) for the sets I could have bought on sale elsewhere but got $115 of value from the triple GWP, not counting the exclusive grand opening tile.  I'll call that 32% off the purchase.  Yes, this is some funny math but I think it's at least close.
Please don't pay full price for Lego.  There are deals to be had!
