Accidentally walked into the Cologne Lego Store today… walked out with three tubes of PaB, #80111 and #40565, to complete this years series of Xmas-GWPs.

so I’ve started going through the 60lbs, looking at big bits at top first. There are a lot of minifies. So far found part of the WV toy store and tree, parts of the holiday train, nutcracker and small gingerbread house plus a caroler I wanted. Also have a dragon missing a lower jaw (so far) and part of a smaller dragon, most of a friends boat, most of a crystal scavenger, parts of a ninjago building, cars and more bits I haven’t identified for sets so I will be off to the what’s this thread soon.

Still sorting through finding some mega blocks, assorted plastic toys and packing peanuts. Lots of minifigures and minidolls, about a gallon bag thus far of bionicles, and chunks of many cars, boats and helicopters. Looks to be most, maybe all, of the LOTR Tower of Orthanc #10237-1. Also found this but no bag 2 (still may be in there somewhere but unlikely). More cleaning and sorting to be done - I think I’m about 1/2 way through.

Can't seem to be able to order the Jazz Club on the French site. It doesn't update as available, just says that it'll be available January 4th for non VIPs. I keep refreshing too, to no avail. Anybody else having issues "ordering" and spending on their favorite bricks?

I got the Monkie Kid Team Van and the Friends Disco Skate set plus a CMF to hit the threshold for Blacktron. Lunar New Year poly is a nice bonus, lots of great parts in it.

Braved the crowds at Meadowhall, son didn’t need much persuading to spend his Xmas money so was able to buy a couple of smallish sets for myself to snag #40580 Blacktron Cruiser for my collection! Never seen the queues to get in the store so long…

Went to the Lego Store at The Mills this morning to get the gwp along with Jazz Club. I got there an hour plus ahead of time which is usually good enough to be in the top five getting in. This morning I was about 20 or 25th in line. The Lego employee had photocopied tickets to hand out for Jazz Club but only five or ten people wanted them. The store was absolutely packed by the time I walked out within five minutes of being there. Got the spaceship for Christmas, $75 at Walmart.

I've been away for a while waiting on a good deal for the Jabbas sail barge to no avail, and I don't have the space to display my non-starwarsy stuff at present, so on January 1st I picked up 75347 Tie Bomber, which also came with the lunar polybag.

I was on the Lego website bang on midnight but there was quite a lot of traffic, so it took around 5 minutes of refreshing before I was able to add to cart and checkout.

I could and probably should have waited until the double points in March, or the May the Fourth promotion, but I've had that space reserved for it on my shelf since the rumours were first announced months ago, if I don't find something to put there soon, my wife will LOL.

Roll on the summer for the Tie Interceptor :)

I scour my local Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist and whatever new App-du-Jour is getting the attention, and I never come across something like this.

I'm always on the lookout for this kind of haul. Doesn't happen often, but once-in-a-while it does. Less than it use to is seems. Unless I win a lottery, it's pretty much the only way I'll ever have the chance to own a Green Grocer. I keep hoping for something like this for the Horizon Express too (one of my white whales).

Let us know how it turns out so we can both curse and congratulate you at the same time.

I was just thinking about selling my Horizon Expresses this week. Still have to think more on it and see what they are valued at these days but next time I am in Dallas I could probably hook you up

From the pictures I also see a small sliver of the Winter Village Bakery, I'm certain it's just a fraction so I'm not getting my hopes up. There are also a few tan brick walls, I cross referenced and it's from a Creator set but I won't turn those bricks down either.

Feeling a bit strange. I haven't posted here in... yeah, probably a really long time. My purchases are almost certainly the generic bog standard what everyone would do in my position wanting the sets i want with the funds that I have whilst also being careful. But nothing noteworthy.

Until yesterday.

So. I got a few sets for Christmas, including the DeLorean Time Machine. I heard about the Blacktron GWP but either didn't connect the dots, didn't think it would be so soon, or just thought it couldn't really affect what I was buying for Christmas.

Well, Christmas morning came and went and I opened up my stash of Lego (including some amazing gifts sent by my Secret Santa). But I didn't open or build anything - we've been feeling a bit under the weather the whole month, and we had visitors and house guests, and Cathy was really quite ill on Christmas Day (not ambulance ill, but she was in bed all day and couldn't eat the Christmas dinner she had prepared for us all). So I barely looked at the boxes, let alone started building!

And then the Blacktron GWP was announced. I was initially very happy, then a bit amazed at the threshold, then more than a little sad - there was no way I could spare further funds to acquire this excellent companion set to my Galaxy Explorer(s).

But then I had an idea. I hadn't touched my DeLorean. It was back in the Lego bag I had originally brought it home in, receipt and everything. I could take it back, get a refund and just buy it again.

It seemed rather straightforward. Almost too straightforward. I checked the T&Cs to see if there would be any issues. The only thing I could think of is I'd have to return the Christmas GWP at the same time, but that was an easy decision.

So yesterday I toddled along to my local LEGO Store, and said I was going to be cheeky, but did they have any Blacktrons left (they did - apparently there's a lot of them about).

I told them what I wanted to do, and apologised for the messing around. The supervisor completely understood and had no issues. Then came the interesting bit.

I didn't want to get a refund to my card and then have to wait until it cleared to buy it again, so I got the refund as a gift voucher. This was a little tricky, as the gift card takes about 10 minutes to be activated, but I could wait.

Then he scanned my DeLorean through the register to sell it back to me. And it came up at the pre-hike price of £149! Through the process of doing this, I had made £20! But I had to then spend it to get to £170 so I could get the GWP! So a quick dash around the store got me the Gandalf/Balrog set, and the Slave I microfighter!

So all in all I got the lunar pack, the Blacktron GWP, a LotR Brickheadz set and a SW microfighter for the princely sum of £6.98 and a Santa's workshop I probably would never have built anyway!

TL;DR: Lego's returns process gifted me with £20 of Lego and the opportunity to get the Blacktron GWP! Could not be happier!

Was able to buy #30641 and #30634 from Target yesterday for the wife-y. I was surprised that they were listed on the website (I think this is something fairly newish that Target is listing polybags online) and I was able to do a store pickup for them. Made the whole process very easy.
I'm glad I went this route, because I of course walked back to the LEGO isle quickly while I was in-store, and it was pretty bare-bones. I didn't even see these two polybags out on the shelves or endcaps anywhere. I did end up grabbing a couple more of the newest DOTS extras packs though as well as a couple of LEGO books that were on clearance

Sadly neither of these two items are currently showing online as in stock at my local Target. I have placed store pick-up orders for some polybags over the past year at my store but I guess these will have to wait a while. I've noticed that often times they show inventory available for in store pick-up but nothing is out on the shelves in the store when I go to pick up what I've ordered. I think they sometimes rely on store order pick-up to move some stock rather than actually putting it out on the shelves.

Purchased and just received a sealed Limited Edition Silver Freestyle Bucket #3027. I wanted this set because of the included silver brick because I collect physical silver. Once received, I was amazed on the condition of this sealed set as well as how exquisite the container looks. The silver sparkle of the container is beautiful. (The picture doesn't do it justice). Just wanted to share, because I think the packaging is splendid.

^ I bought one of those buckets when I worked at Toys'R'Us in high school, the other bricks and bucket are long gone, but I still have the silver brick, encased so it doesn't get scratched up.

Made the rounds today looking for CMF 24. Target had nothing.
Went to Barnes & Noble. They had two half full boxes sitting on a shelf. There were lots of the Rocking Horse Girl. I was able to get 6 of the 9 figures I was still missing. Of course the missing 3 I couldn't get there were the Falconer, Orc & Spaceman.
Decided since I was close to it I'd check Scheels again but struck out there. They only have some series 22 CMF's and a few polybags I already have. They had tons of the Duplo one that Lego is offering as a VIP reward.
Had to pass Walmart on the way home so I figured I'd give it a shot. They must have dumped a full box in the Minifig spot because I was finally able to get the Falconer, Orc & Spaceman. I didn't count what was there but I think it was a full box worth. But I only found 2 of the Spaceman which I took as well as all 3 Falconers and 2 of the Orcs. I left an Orc and everything else. The Minfig gods were smiling on me today.
I've got two 6 pack boxes arriving from Lego tomorrow so hopefully I get some more Falcon & Space army builders to add to my collection. I resisted buying doubles of anything else until I see what I get in the two 6 packs.

...bored while on the road can be like navigating a minefield. I will say that I'm thankful for the current VIP policy! Redeemed an oddball $84 bucks on this haul right at the register last minute - no voucher code required. Probably old news, but I haven't purchased in-store in quite a while.

There was a tag earlier, but it's set #3739 Blacksmith Shop. Very reminiscent of the recent Ideas version!

(Also, my set tags don't seem to work so well anymore, it refers to forum searches instead of Brickset pages, did something change? It used to be # + set number, no?)

Saturday was first time out this new year where I could actually look for Series 24. Stopped at 3 Walmarts. First one had a box that looked barely touch. Was able to get all but - yup, Falconer. Someone wanted that one for sure. Even all 3 Bennies were still there. 2nd store had like 5 bags, 3rd store like 4 bags. Struck out on Falconer. Stopped at one Target and one Kohls. No luck. The Kohls toy area was a disaster. I should probably stop in today as you'd think they cleaned up by now and probably put them out. I think I can squeeze out time this evening to stop at 3-4 other stores to try and find that elusive Falconer.
