No exact ETA at the moment. February, hopefully.
Over the last few years, I've always added on a handful of the 16x16 plates to any parts order. In the new world, it helps quickly move up to eliminating the fees for the parts and/or get to free shipping. Even with all the ones I have, I still likely need another 50 or so. I'll keep chipping away! LEGO Rome wasn't built in a day, or so I've heard.
Passed on trying to motorize anything this go around in favor of getting a village out this year.
The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks was an interesting read. Some parts of it was about the development of specific elements or element families, other parts were about the development of themes or concepts. There was a lot of inside information into past and present processes for design of parts and sets. Developments of the basic bricks, wheels, minifigures, monorails, the core evergreen themes, mini-dolls, and technic were all covered. In the later chapters, there was quite a bit of time spent on the early 2000s and later with Bionicle, Galidor, Exo-Force, and up into themes like Ninjago and Legends of Chima. I personally was more interested in some of the earlier history, but even the stuff from the last 20 years was pretty interesting to read about! Definitely gives you a lot of insight into what goes into the design of sets, themes, and parts.
I do hope that something changes and this book gets a wider release because I think that there is a lot of the fan base who would enjoy reading it.
Here's the table of contents to give you an idea of what all is included:
I now own 100 Friends sets. When I realised I had 96 recently I thought I had to make it to 100 before the reboot.
Set 100 isn't a particularly big set but I already have the matching ambulance and I have a vague plan to attempt to build a Friends modular style build next year which is going to include a vet centre.
Hoping for the best with the interview outcome!
I vaguely recall that conversation as well. I'll have to dig.
EDIT - Got it!

It was indeed an Evancelt build!
Im going to revisit those tracks soon - need to finish 15 MILs plates for a train show at the beginning of April!

The idea is that the track isn't necessarily permanently on the base, but it is attached sufficiently to stay in place in your setup.
The tape on the right can easily be lifted and restuck. The middle tape also looks less sticky than normal. Probably just the brutal cold, but still nervous enough to check the contents.
Yeah. You don't want to have to defeat the Empire to reclaim your WV. My LEGO status, still reading Genesis, built another Winter Holiday Train polybag... Also: What are you building right now? - Page 208 — Brickset Forum
Merry Christmas all :-)
Merry Christmas everyone!
and @pxchris for the recommendation!) Now, you're probably wondering what my brother has to do with my LEGO status, but when he was gone, I was told to not be in the basement.(So I don't hurt myself.)
while waiting for a train home ...
so the 40648 Money Tree is now mine. :)
I hope it brings me my new Fortune for 2023?
As some of you may have already guessed from my vague post a few days ago, I just managed to win an auction for #6204 Buccaneers with the all-important box (I've mentioned before, that for my own collecting preferences, if I'm going to collect a classic 80s/90s minifigure pack, then I want to have the box for it, this is one of my few exceptions to generally speaking not being a box collector). The box isn't in pristine condition by any means, but it's perfect for my needs! The rareness of this particular minifigure pack (which was only released in North America) means that it demands quite a high premium on the collectors market, and I have neither the means, nor the desire to spend multiple hundreds of dollars on one, so I was very happy to win this auction for a much more palatable price!
You may also recall that this was technically the last set (excluding NA/EU set number variants) I needed to completely complete my Classic Pirates 1989-1997 collection! I am beyond thrilled to say the least. I thought it would be years before I came across this at a price I was willing to pay.
I'm very pleased to have all of these fantastic packs together now!
will be excited, my mom(who's into the WV stuff, too) suggested I jump on a sealed #10235, so that came. I want to build it tomorrow, Lord willing, and I think I want to use it as kind of a church fair, so I'm excited. Lord willing, nothing'll need to be replaced.
@Modeltrainman check out @snowhitie church in the WV thread it’s really beautiful.
