I went with the digital edition of the book... but I think I'm regretting that some now since they're still stating the digital version will only be in black and white. But, that said, I am still looking forward to it.
Is that so people can't share/print pages or something?

Status: bricklinking parts for sets from the Western theme. It's always fun to make a wanted list and then trying to buy everything for the best price/quality. For me the process of acquiring the parts is more than half the fun! I plan to combine the Western sets with sets from the Lone Ranger theme. The latter was released shortly after I came out of my dark age so it has special memories for me. #79111 The Constitution Train is still one of my favourite train sets.
The Lone Ranger never got very popular, just like Scooby-Doo. Think of #75904 Mystery Mansion, a marvellous set in my opinion!

Honestly... no idea. It seems pretty ridiculous to me to publish a digital book (assuming it's in PDF... for epub/azw files for e-readers I can understand somewhat) in only black and white when the hard cover physical book will be full color. I'm really hoping that they reverse that decision.

There's an error on page 184 of the Home Alone set where the piece to be placed is just a highlighted piece that was placed the step before.  I find these mistakes a lot and don't understand how they are not found because it only takes a little proofreading.  Maybe LEGO should hire me.  Haha, I'm just an optimist.

That digital color is way more expensive than digital black and white.  My grayscale iPhone 14 was way cheaper than the full-color version.

Today's status: waiting for a large bulk lot to arrive tomorrow, then my 40th birthday Friday, where I expect to receive #10308 Holiday Main Street from my family.

Honestly, WesterBricks, I've started to follow your bulk purchases with great excitement! I haven't ever shipped on Facebook Marketplace, but might need to consider it as my new marketplace is rather quiet on the LEGO front.

Got a couple of long builds coming up, so I am trying to figure out some good movies to watch.  Might as well save the rest of The Batman for it.

@Speedman29 my daughter is currently obsessed with Little Shop of Horrors. Totally obsessed. Unfortunately most of the merchandise is all ridiculously expensive. How can I get the instructions for that Audrey 2 please. Ta.

@Speedman29 it's a tricky build but it does look great doesn't it? I built it last year and just loved it as a display piece.

@bookmum it's a great film! If you check the photos tab on the rebrickable page you can see a photo of mine which I uploaded last year 👍 well worth checking if you have the parts to build it, if you don't start ordering!! 😂

@PJ76uk Little Shop is the current latest obsession in our house. She wants a plush toy of Audrey 2 that you can only get from America so when you add P+P and import fees it is a crazy expensive price so I have said no (so mean). Even the Pop Vinyls are ££££.
I have suggested getting an actual venus flytrap plant. I'm not good with plants. Cacti doesn't even survive with me so it could end up very badly.....

@bookmum went through the Venus flytrap phase here - think we went through 5 none lasted very long but my son did think the catching and dissolving of the insects was cool.  I have a mostly black thumb.

I see you've already been directed. Its one of the Ben Build Lego movie Easter Eggs hes been creating and showing on Instagram (although his account has now vansihed from there) He does loads of TV and film related MOCs that are great to add to a scene. In my modular street I have his Wall-E rolling along and Indy and his father are dragging the Ark of the Covenant around.

Its brilliant, Mrs Speedy enjoyed the film so much and was super keen to build Audrey, as you can probably see, its now sitting outside the florist from Assembly Square, wouldn't fit in the window to attract the customers!

Busy LEGO day with no actual building! Struggled with S@H to get the BTTF Delorean on VIP weekend. Finally got it to work, so thats my Christmas present to myself sorted and will fill the week between Christmas and New Year nicely. Then an afternoon and evening of multiple Bricklink orders to help my brother out, his partner wants to get the Speed Champions Mini Cooper for her dad, so several sellers later and all the pieces are ordered. Sticker sheet coming from Spain as that was cheapest way. Finally got around to wrapping my Secret Santa gifts and boxing them up, so should be shipped in plenty of time.

Got to the LEGO store 20 minutes before it opened.  There were only two guys waiting then, but a bunch more showed up.  I talked to them for a minute about the Eiffel Tower and they didn't think a lot of people would line up for the release.  One of the guys got the Hogwarts train and the other grabbed the Atari.  I also asked the employees about the release and they just said, "come early", they wouldn't say how early.  They found the power functions for the Loop Coaster for me before I left.  Mission Accomplished

^Saw your post on Instagram. I’m adding that to my wishlist.

I came home from work yesterday and my two boys (2, 4) were playing independently with lego (the flywheel motorcycle and building the alphabet). Their interest in my hobby is pretty new.  I opened up the andor set next to them on the floor. Then we watched lego masters before bed. I was kicking around loose pieces all evening.  It was the best way to end a long week.

So I took huge advantage of the 5x points and major discounts this weekend in order to clear up a number of more expensive sets on my list that I had been holding off on until I could at least get double points.  I was a little angry at my local LEGO store, who I called on Thursday asking about the promotion, and how many different purchases I would be limited to with respect to the GWPs.  They told me over the phone that there wasn't a limit, but once we were actually in store yesterday they limited me to 2.  This ended up MOSTLY working out as they were actually sold out of two of the 5 sets I was after... but still annoying. (I was able to use the only vouchers for those sets, so it wasn't a HUGE miss, thankfully.)

Anyways, my REAL status update is that, due to the big influx of points yesterday, I have passed another points milestone.  My mother asked me the other day why I was saving them all up like this.   I honestly have no idea, but dang if it doesn't feel good watching that number tick up...

Lego status: Finished building the AT-AT. It's pretty amazing. Really imposing. Love it. It's going to get dressed up for Christmas. My wife is looking forward to that.

Also lego status: trying to plan out my WV setup for this year. I have a new table for it, so I can do more than a 30" x 40" display if I want. It's a gateleg table that I can use as either 30x45-ish or 30x60. Don't know that I'll need the full table this year, but it's an option if I want!

Every time I buy something at the Lego store, they look up at me and say, "You know you have over XX,000 points, right?"  I just grin and tell them I don't want to use any that day.  ...but the look of surprise (even with just mid-5-digits and not 6-digits) always amuses me.  Also, I get the feeling they don't see people with that many points very often.  They'd probably do a double-take at your 400,000+ points!

My Lego status today is: Confused. Perplexed. Last month, I took my second #75337 AT-TE when I went camping. I brought a small container of spare parts, in Earth Green and Dark Azure. I built it with Earth Green replacing the New Dark Red. So the container has some extra Erath Green, the Dark Azure, and the New Dark Red.

I want to change it to the Dark Azure... but I can't find that container!

...and I just found it! Thinking about what all was in it, I remember I had brought some extra clone troopers also. They're on top of the other parts in the little box, so I've looked at the box many times in the last few weeks, and not remembered what else was in there.

So posting about the problem has solved it! Thanks, Brickset Forum! 😁

A bummer indeed.  My sister and I are witnessing the aging of our parents, and it's a sobering thought to realize our remaining time with them is limited.  So we're all making the very best of the the time we have - sounds like you did the same :)

You know that the more you keep your points the less you can get for them in terms of value, as the sets keep getting more and more expensive and the pieces in them smaller and smaller.
I always spend the vip points I get on a purchase on the next consecutive purchase, they never amount to more than a few tenners.
Of course one can do whatever they want, as it's their own money, but it's not really efficient imho.

Plus inflation...  You'd be better off buying a desirable set now with that money to resell it in a few years.

I tend to keep my points for no more than a year, after which I empty the bank on the yearly modular.  This coming one will be no exception.  I do wish I had this amount of points to spend though...

I've started a trend to save my points and spend them on the yearly WV set. It offsets it by a decent amount in the end. Helps keep expenses down too around the holidays.

    @Fizyx Impressive!  Most impressive.
You clearly possess a lot of will power.  Out of curiosity, what might prompt you to cash it all in?
My status: Fighting off just a tiny bit of FOMO, but not enough to order anything this weekend.  Not even 5x or 2x VIP points made me click an order.  This time last year I was geeking out over the big AT-AT.  Difficult to top that.

@Mynatt - thanks for sharing. You (and your family) have had quite a time over the past few years. Sorry you're not interning for Lego, and for the passing of your father. This time of year can be hard in those kinds of circumstances.

I hope you manage to reflect and forge a new way forward and have a bright and successful 2023. I'm just a guy on the internet so can't really offer much more, but hopefully the sentiment is enough.

    Play well!
