Correct :) (was the last gift i pointed out).
First day was available at least.

Forgot to mention that on display, they have a statue of the Manneken and inside, a micro-scale reproduction of the grand place with the flower carpet (inside, on the left side).

PAB wall and minifigure build are not available due to corona.

Ah right, missed the lego store part in the list there :-) (Some) displays made by Dirk Denoyelle!

Incredibly sad news: A-Tembo is closing.
Economic hardship due to the lockdown, and ultimately the mismanagement of the Dutch government who is responsible for all these stringent and preposterous lockdown measures.
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
I guess you missed the part where the owner of A-Tembo died of Covid-19 in December, and that’s why they’re closing the store.
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
I did not know that bit. Well, that sucks too.
But, how did you know that?
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
    Because it’s on their website?

You can find Paul’s funeral card here: https://vangorpuitvaartzorg.nl/online-condoleanceregister/paul-van-boekhout/95/guestbook/

I must have been blind, glanced over it, failed to see it visiting the A-Tembo website, and mistakenly thought the business went bust, as unfortunately so many other businesses currently do, because of the economic depression tied to everything else that is happening.
Very sad to learn the owner died.
    Thanks for letting me know.

Exact same offer from tomorrow but for Star Wars sets. Also, 15% off store wide. Not sure if they stack but probably not.

Is there anyone in Belgium who’ve found the Looney Tunes figures? Are there people interested in sharing a box, so we can get a full series without having to go through the extra cost of bricklink?

not in Belgium, but I know the Utrecht Lego Store offers them sorted. If you want, I could get you a set and send it by Belgian post to you? (I work in Utrecht and live near the border (and get gas in your beautiful country every month ;))

Maxi Toys has a sale right now, second Technic set at 50% off. They have some good sets but most are already heavily discounted elsewhere, including at Dreamland.

I saw that some of the prices from the Monkie Kid first wave sets on the S@H have dropped by 20%. There’s rumours of the line disappearing, so this might be the perfect time to get some, cause I’ve never seen them on sale!

Has anyone had any experience with Gigatronics for Lego? A friend asked if I knew them, and I did not, but they have some very competitive pricing on a lot of sets, so I am in doubt. I read some reviews that were ok, but they do seem to have a long delivery time, but otherwise they seem legit. So does anyone know more?

Turns out they are defo not legit. It seems they ripped off a lot of people. There is a legitimate company called Gigatronic and they warned people to stay away from ordering at the false company.

Luckily my friend ordered with AfterPay so she did not receive anything but also did not pay anything. I read some reviews of people that were not so lucky and lost upwards of 300 Euros...

That is so lovely of you! :) I've been better, but hope to be building a bit more soon, to start, the table is finally today free of all wintery stuff... It's been made a bit smaller again too and ready to get filled up again.

My son built the Starry night set and that has place of pride now. Amazing set.

hope you are well, I'll make sure to look a bit more round the forums too!

Does anybody know of a good Lego store or another place to find Lego in Brugge, BE, by any chance, I'm going on holiday there next week so any good addresses would be very much appreciated!
  • CoviCovi Member Posts: 339
    @HenkdeVries
I'm afraid not. In Belgium we don't have much toy stores anymore. You can visit maybe a local store of the Dreamland or Fun branches but nothing else fancy.

Thanks @Covi, appreciate the response. I think the kids would also be happy to visit Fun or Dreamland, so will check there, maybe some summer discount is happening...

Brugs Brickhouse (https://brugsbrickhouse.be/en ) opened recently. It's a small store situated within the historic area of Bruges. Don't expect any bargains but worth a visit to check out their LEGO model of the Bruges Belfry. Never visited the store but it's on my list to visit next time I'm in Bruges.

I have to second the sad state of toy shops @Covi described. Fun and Dreamland as last retail chains standing. Neither is doing well and the deep discounts we saw some years ago seem to have dried up. There are a couple of other, slightly oddball chains in de Vlaanders that also carry a wide Lego selection (Supra Bazar and Multi-Bazar) - who doesn't like stores where you can buy a bag of cement and a lamp together your their Lego sets? I like their polybags and the kids love the build and play area the larger ones have. Unfortunately these are mainly in the the South (Kortrijk area) whereas your're in the north (Brugge area). These might be worth a visit if you're in that area but not really worth a detour.

Fun Brugge is also a bit strange. Second Fun store to ever open, oldest still open I think. It's situated in a residential area whereas newer stores are typically situated in commercial areas and retail parks.

Hope you and your family enjoy your trip!

Thanks @Kerre, will check the Brickhouse, it looks nice, but no bargains, that is a shame. Perhaps the kids will find something small where I can agree on paying the retail price, we are on holiday after all... ;-)

Lol, that is a weird combination, but we have some stores like that in NL too, Lego along with all your garden needs.

We will definitely enjoy the trip, I found a lot of fun stuff to do in and around Brugge, and our holiday home has a pool so I'll just throw the kids in the pool and hide away with a book or a Lego set. :P

All the Maxi Toys near me have changed to King Jouet, same terrible pricing though. There's also a small chain called Olliwood Toys, but their Lego selection is almost all priced higher than RRP, but they do carry a decent selection of polybags, and their pricing means they usually have stuff that has sold out elsewhere.

I have noticed Carrefour's range of Lego has reduced significantly over the last 2-3 years, but Cora still has a decent selection, and often decent offers.

Just got back, but due to our lazy schedule we did not go to any toy store after all...

Yes definitely, Brugge and its surroundings had enough to offer, and our rental home offered the use of the private pool, so we just dropped the kids in there every day haha. But still, we did see some things and enjoyed ourselves very much!
