I feel like I recently recall Huw mentioning something about the black marking on the neck going away at a certain time. This was used to align the torso before printing (or so I believe the story goes).

I would assume both torso's are genuine as well as the mask.

I remember a thread a while back about a camera / scanner system that was able to id minifig parts.  If I remember correctly it was only available for Windows or Mac & was about 170 EU.  It may have been posted pre-pandemic.  If you think its worth the investment.
You're probably thinking of Instabrick. Instabrick: Part identification system — Brickset Forum

I have it and use it frequently. Not as good at identifying minifigures as the Brickset users who post in this thread, but very useful if you have hundreds of jumbled minifigure parts.
That might be or it's similar.  The one I remembered had either white or light grey walls, with 4 walls. Had to remove top I think to put the pat into it.

My son was putting together #75312 and there are 4 of these things in a bag with some other parts. I flipped through the book a couple times and can’t figure out what it is or where it’s supposed to go. Sorry for the dumb question but any help is appreciated

@kbw it doesn't actually get used in that set: it's a visor intended for Clone troopers' helmets, though it will work on Boba and Mando's helmets too. The other parts are the rangefinder that goes on Boba's helmet.
They are packed together in that little bag to make it easier for yhe machines to pack the boxes, and you get spares since they're so tiny and easy to lose.
I don't know if they fit on other helmets, like City motorcycle helmets; I've never tried.

Much appreciated. It was sort of driving me crazy haha. I don’t recall seeing pieces that aren’t used in a set before, so that was all new to me. Thanks again

They are kind of like the modern equivalent of the vintage parts that used to come on a plastic wheel (tools/hat feathers). Often the set would only require one of the feathers for example, but the wheel gave you all three variations. Interesting to see if these modern parts reach the crazy prices of those tiny feathers in the future though.

I picked up a couple of $7 bags of parts at Savers yesterday, all incomplete builds. Anybody recognize the sets? Seems to be some Star Wars, City, and Batman all jumbled together.

    Upper left corner:

Batman vehicle (something on Ice? Aquaman is encased in 2 ice walls in the set)

& one of the semi trailer (2 sets are named "'Mobile Police Unit") from CITY. The white 2x6 plate is a desk for 2 cops positioned in the semi trailer.

Oh well, finally found it. The torso is an Alfred Pennyworth from The Batcave Breakin. Albeit with the wrong hands.

A magnifying glass and bright light are your friends when trying to read Lego part numbers :)

My phone has a magnifying glass app on it that allows me to use my phone light too. It even lets me snap a picture. It's come in handy several times when identifying LEGO parts.

Back again oh mighty forum. Moving, and trying my best to be meticulous. Does anyone know how we may have obtained this Tartan Batman? He is not a CM from the movie series. We definitely do NOT have any of the publications associated with him that are listed on Bricklink, and Brickset does not have him catalogued in a way that would lead to clues. My best guess is a promotion for going to the Batman movie?? I doubt we would have opened it in that cas though, sad to say. We do have Kiss Kiss Batman from the movie though…..

I know what part it is, just not sure if I know the color, it resembles Dark Azure more than anything else I'm seeing but there are so few for sale on BL it has me questioning the color.

Maybe Dark Azur, with the lower-right one Medium Blue? That one definitely looks lighter than the others.

Not found under dragon, snake, serpent, or basilisk. This haul seems to be leaning NINJAGO (& Marvel) if that's any help.

That's a Legends of Chima Speedorz part, from set #70115 Ultimate Speedor Tournament.
    It's a crocodile.

^I had an equally difficult time in a recent bulk lot identifying the Speedorz flywheel part that connects to the part you posted.

    https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11125c01&name=Flywheel Plate 2 x 8 with Metal Flywheel and Dark Azure Tire (Chima Speedorz Rip Cord Base)&category=[Riding Cycle]#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

I have several at this point if you're looking to complete a set! :)

Thanks guys, I would've NEVER found that!

I always forget about stupid CHIMA...been a thorn in my side before.😣😣🙄

I just barely started determining what sets are in this huge haul, gonna be difficult if there's a bunch more CHIMA. I'm already unfamiliar with all the NINJAGO & Marvel I'm seeing.

I have almost ALL of the Chima sets. I didn't get the constraction figures, missed some polybags, and some of the promotional packs. Duplicates of many sets, mainly for the minifigures when the sets were on clearance. All of the Speedor parts went into a bin; I use them for MOCs. But the flywheels and their shrouds are still waiting to be used...

A bit of creativity and you've got a way of propelling a vehicle built around the flywheel. The new stuntz bikes are a bit easier to make into a vehicle. The smaller rear wheel is poorish design but not do they go

The figure in the School of Magic Book is the surprise minifig from the Diagon Alley set listed in the Brickset database as HP316 with a few additional parts including a random Chocolate Frog card.  These type soft cover books don't normally get assigned a Lego set number as they just use a bunch of random parts.  The Build your own Adventure is a re-issue of the same set from a few years ago.  The figure is most likely the one from the Great Hall Set wearing the sorting Hat, HP150 from the Database.  These normally don't get assigned a specific set number from Lego and even if they do they don't show up on the Lego Website.  The Parts bag is in a Lego polybag labeled set #11923 but doesn't show up in a search on the Lego Website.  The first issue of this book didn't have the Storage Box to Build  when it came out in 2019.

I'm curious what I actually bought, lol

Top left I'm 95% sure is the Medieval Blacksmith.  Bottom right is the Speed Champions McLaren Senna, seller confirmed that.  I'm at a complete loss what the rest are, they are sealed bags from something large.
