    Current status: lamenting the end of the useful sorting trays from the advent calendars.
    I opened the Star Wars and Guardians ones today (no spoilers and yeah, I'm not using them as actual advent calendars). So the inside tray is all flimsy cardboard and not the more substantial reconstituted,formed cardboardy stuff from previous years or the plastic from even earlier. I found them really handy to keep for sorting out smaller bits, especially since they stacked nicely.

    Slightly annoyed as of the last couple of days. I rely heavily on taking the train to get to the Great Western Brick Show and it was the first big Lego show I would’ve been to for years. But there’s a train strike that will affect services across that weekend and I don’t think I’ll be able to allow enough time for travelling by bus etc. so I won’t be able to make it. I suspect it will affect Great Western Brick Show attendance noticeably.

    However despite that big downer the silver lining is that there’s a new (from my awareness) Lego show coming to Bournemouth near me the weekend after - “The Big Brick Show”. So I’ll have to check that one out on the Sunday!

    I pulled the X-wings I built earlier this year out of the storage box where I put them for moving. The Psiaki, Swan Dutchman, Jerac v1, Jerac v2, and Jerac T-70 held up nicely and went back on display with very little fuss. The Cehnot had come apart in storage and the sections were so fragile that the only thing to do was to disassemble it completely. I may rebuild it sometime, but not without strengthening it as I go and maybe trying my hand at a redesign of the most fragile sections.

    Verdict is, he doesn't fit unless his crew always stays in the bunks. So, his own ship will be better! At least it taught me what his ship will take. (He's been a Space Ranger in extended media.)

    Today’s status: finally sorting through 13 years of Winter Village sets. After several seasonal displays, everything has mixed into a winter mush, and various other things have snuck in (hello Yeti!)

    Not pictured: Elf Club House, Santa’s Workshop, or Hogsmeade, they were recently purchased and weren’t subjected to the same annual blender.

    You don't have too much sorting to do. Most if the big bits are still where they should be. Looks like fun if you ask me!

    And here are the leftovers. The lamp posts and mailbox came from advent calendars, and I recognize some of the loose parts from a train station I built years before there was an official station. I think the gifts and green/pink treats belong somewhere. The yeti were obviously CMFs who snuck in. And I have no idea how the Rescue guy got here.

    The Orange/Pink/Green stacks are from the Bakery. They slide into the display case inside the door. 

    ...I know this because mine fall out every year I go to set up and have to remind myself where they go.

    That chimney top may also be the Bakery?

    @bookmum What is this Annuals-magazine? Never heard of it. Recently discovered that there are quite a few official/semi-official lego books/magazines. Some with lego-pieces too! 

    I had to get the Blocks magazine with the theme celebrating Friends - my first (and only) issue, had to order it online since i could not find it in any common kiosk/bookshop.

    @SilverLove I think Annuals are very much a British thing. There used to be loads of weekly comics published for children and at Christmas there would be the Annual published which was a special edition of the comic - a longer version and hardback. They have been a traditional Christmas gift for British kids for decades.
    Most of the old comics have long stopped being published so the annuals have changed and these days are mostly themed with whatever toys/TV show/film characters are fashionable with kids  So last few years it's been stuff like Barbie, Star Wars, Peppa Pig, Minecraft etc and that includes a Lego one. 
    Annuals are officially "not as good as they used to be" so the Lego one is only really worth getting if it comes with a good minifig.

    @SilverLove I don't know if you can access the WHSmith website from Sweden (UK book/magazine shop). If you can and you search 'annuals' you will see how many of these are published every year. There's a ridiculous amount.

    We used to get the Beano and Dandy ones -80's or so, they were twice as thick as today's or is it how a kid saw them vs an adult. I missed them the last few years but I didn't think they were that good , this fig is a bad guy and that's the side I tend to favour in all lego themes

    The Beano and Dandy are just about the only ones that are still any good. 
    The rest really are "I might buy it when it's reduced to £1 after Christmas".

    Status - bound for BrickCon Seattle in a little while after I put in some hours at work. This will be my first time attending the full weekend of this convention, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how it differs from Bricks Cascade. Unfortunately I had to miss yesterday and will miss a large chunk of today, which with the way things are scheduled means I'm missing most of the games and at least one or two panels that I would have liked to attend. But it should still be a very fun weekend!

    Toying with an idea of bricklinking some stuff to turn #75337 's exterior into Rex's #75157 version, preferably with interchangeable "modules" so I could swiftly switch from one to the other. The fact I don't actually have #75337 yet doesn't help, but looking through the instructions there are big enough structural differences to make it more of headache than it's worth it. Shame, because I can't justify getting the actual #75157 at the prices asked. I could try selling off the inquisitor afterwards, but I'm guessing the demand isn't what it used to be after #75336 's release.
    At least I learned I'm not very good with building in my head, without physical thing to toy with.

    Received #7590 from Bricklink today. Used but came with the box and instructions. Everything is in great shape.  I usually avoid buying used sets but $40 was a good price and I figured it was worth the risk.

    I admit I was a bit slow coming out of my dark ages, then i was slow on catching on there are such things as lego forums, slow with visiting annofficial Lego-store/discovering s@h… ok you get the picture. But only last year did i notice these really nicle looking books with ”Build your…” some of them with a minifih or a few bricks. Most of them are from a publishing house (?) that has ”DK” as their logo. Then  this summer when waiting for food at the Mini Chef @ LegoHouse i saw really many diffferent official (?) Lego books, something about first man (minifig) in space, about Batman, Max etc. The books were mainly in danish, english and german.

    I get it, few people speak swedish so its not like i expect to see these books translated into swedish. But we have a bookstore-chain that is fairly big, at least one store in each larger city where its fairly easy to find/order books in many common large languages such as english, french, german…and i dont expect the same variety of lego books, but at least
    1-2!!!

    and although i now find info about official books by lego here at Brickset. I have never seen books in the official lego store and at s@h im surprised lego doesnt have more books. I imagine that DK (and other) publishing companies still have to pay something to TLG when printong books about building w lego? Or some sort of ”collaboration” - so strange to not see books about lego at s@h, if space/type of products people buy in official lego store is an issue….

    Lengthy post. :) Again, thank you! I will have a look on WHSmiths website. And next time im in the capitol/at an airport, i will have a closer look at the magazine section.

    Have enough of a backlog that I need to do that and still buying a bit more
    Sorting by type helps based on what I feel like building, and some form of organization reminds me what I have and makes the pile more compact and stable
