I've been out of the programming game a few years now, but is there such a thing as compiled Python?
Yeah you can compile it and run it much faster. I am not sure what the original poster was doing so might not have been as possible.

Annoyed Lego decided the 1000 piece Justifier is the best place to put Omega, the character added to Bad Batch specifically to appeal to young kids. Normally I don't care when they stick a rare/new minifigure only in an expensive giant set but in this case it's really frustrating. My five year old adores Omega but there is no way she is going to build a Justifier or even be interested in a set like that. End rant.

Indeed, they could easily make a small set out of the chase on Pantora, with a small build, Omega and Fennec. I bet that'd be a bestseller. Hopefully we'll see more sets with Bad Batch s02.

Just waiting for release day so I can get the August 1st Lego sets. Well the 007 Speed Champions and Galaxy Explorer mainly. Wile E and Roadrunner if they stay in stock.

I'm pleased with myself - I crammed an entire 1989 Batmobile into a USPS Large Flat Rate Box to save myself $30 in cross-country shipping cost. Even separated it into the original bag numbers.

^^ Yes, I'm always surprised (in a good way) how many 'Exclusives' are sitting on the shelf at my Target lately.  Good option for areas under-served by LEGO stores, I guess....

Oh, and my two Galaxy Explorers changed from Processing to In Warehouse

Current status. Deciding. Have a crap ton of VIP points to spend… do I grab the UCS AT-AT now before price increase or wait until August 3rd and get 2 castles?  Hmm…

Good. Using them as intended and not as a shelf piece. What do you do if you get a missing piece? Haha.

If I were in a similar scenario, I would try to do both!  That is, allocate some of your VIP points to the AT-AT before the price hike, then attempt to get one castle on the 3rd.  So you secured a #75313 at <$799 and have some room left for a shot at the big castle on release day.

My kids have just had a great first week at summer club doing a special Lego club for the week - turns out the 'Chris' they kept on talking about who was running it was Chris from the UK Lego Masters show (https://www.brickfanatics.com/meet-the-lego-masters-series-2-teams-chris-and-joseph/)

I don't believe in bragging(unless it's on God,) and I didn't wan to look like I was bragging on myself, so I didn't post it in the brag thread, but God is good, and clearly He knows I really wanted the special R2 in #75339. I know it was ONLY by His grace, but I scored a SEALED copy of the aforementioned set   for $72(and a few of Hamm's pennies,) on Bricklink, the other day.

I agree with @lowlead. You should try it. I'm holding onto my points, because I figure the moment I use them, they'll announce a new steam loco, or a UCS Pizza Planet Truck, or something.

With my luck, the second I spend mine they'll do something really cool like a Big Boy or a Disney Nautilus, or the JP arrival scene, or a reissue of some classic I missed as a kid or had stolen, and make it VIP Points Only. :(

Seriously, I have been whacked over the head with a submarine so I have firsthand EXPERIENCED weirder, and we have already SEEN Lego do more underhanded and cynical things before.

Wow, I really screwed up: I should have said ..."to make space for #10497"... D'oh!
'Quick, make a space! This is where the spaceship lands! *shoves* *leaves room*' "GASP! MY SHIP!"

Exactly! The moment we spend: "The NEW LEGO Union Pacific Big Boy, 30th anniversary Toy Story Pizza Planet Truck, Nemo's Nautilus, Jurassic Park Arrival(with brontosaurus!) October 1st 2025."

Done and done. Order is in warehouse. The 007 Aston Martin is coming along with a Galaxy Explorer. I was going to get the Obi Wan and Vader Brickheadz but they weren't showing up. Waited a few minutes. Not showing up. I was fearful of a hoard of children with their parents credit cards and scraggly bearded new in box collectors going after my 007 Aston Martin and Galaxy Explorer. So I put in the order and went back to my wish list and guess what was available. I removed it from my wish list so I wouldn't get annoyed when I see it in the weeks to come. I'll get it somewhere eventually. All in all a good night/morning.

    D A N G ! !  You weren't kidding about a crap ton of points!  A $14.99 UCS AT-AT.  Well played.

@560Heliport Great photo!  Looking forward to re-creating this one.

I wonder how early I should get to Mall of America tomorrow... and should I bring a folding chair? Maybe get there two hours early and get in line if there is one; if not, walk around the mall until a line starts...
If any other Bricksetters will be there, I'll be wearing my black T-shirt with six Space minifigs on it.

Used 10 years of saving VIP points to get the AT-AT and it's a bit disappointing to see the line up of LEGO Hoth sets right now.  Amazon has a 17% discount on the snowtrooper battle pack right now though, so that is nice.  It's surprising what older hoth sets are going for.

I resent that remark, I have quite the scraggly beard, but bet your bottom dollar I will open my Galaxy Explorer and swoosh it around the house like I'm six years old.

    Sooo, I've just started taking apart my Tower of Orthanc for storage, and oh boy.  I knew the browns had some issues, so I was actually being pretty gentle, and this was still the result.  Luckily the Ent, which the bit I took apart, has the vast majority of the browns, so HOPEFULLY this is the extent of the damage.  But it still hurt my heart taking it apart ;_;

OUCH. :( This makes me wonder if I shouldn't try to give known "failure-prone color" parts a preemptive light coating of cyanoacrylate and leave it to cure a few weeks before assembly.

I am petrified to take apart any of my LotR sets for exactly that reason @Fizyx!

My Galaxy Explorer has arrived from Smyth's Toys. A day late and a hole in the box. Not. Impressed. I should just drive to the Lego store and get one - might do that tomorrow and drop off this damaged copy on the way.

I love the box design for the 90th anniversary sets. Can't wait for my Galaxy Explorer to eventually ship.
  • pxchrispxchris Member Posts: 2,438
So... I received my pre-order #10497 today (as well as the pre-order for #76217 - two different shipments/boxes) and the box was absolutely crushed. I'm hugely disappointed. This, of all sets, is a box that I absolutely want to keep, and in pristine condition. So for the first time ever, I'm contacting LEGO customer support for a shipping issue. I wonder what solution they'll offer...
    Sad, sad me.

Not a bad turn around by SaH. Just going to stare at the box for a bit and imagine it's the late 70s again!

I had a box just like that arrive this morning.  DPD said 0914-1014 and the doorbell rang at 0913 so I'm dead chuffed.

What do you do when Lego hasn't shipped your order containing a set you like and you see that set in your local store? Normally I would just wait but not for anything James Bond so I bought it. Spare one will be a small display piece. The Galaxy Explorer can wait for a little bit longer. Yes I know I made fun of collectors a couple of days ago. Also picked up the AT TE and the Vader V Kenobi set. No idea why I got that one. I might also buy the Friends theatre next week just for my Muppets minifigs.

Absolutely! Now to save up for the Lion Knights' Castle... it looked gorgeous at the store (even though they had to kragle it) and me and my son had a good ten minutes playing with it.
