My LEGO status? Reading Amos. Robo Raptor 2 is nearly complete, waiting on a black wedge brick. Now struggling to find the digital Mario and Luigi figures. I put them...somewhere. Storage ongoing...

Got bored visiting various Discovery Centres, LEGO stores and toy shops with zero new polybags. Took to Bricklink the other evening and found what I needed, only a £1 more each than the DC prices.
    Where to start?

You could just open them all and dump them in a big pile before you start building. It surely would increase the build time (but perhaps not the enjoyment)!

Current status is nothing about LEGO, unfortunately. However, after a couple of years away due to COVID supply chain issues, I finally get to do my annual firework show for my community and church. Pre-COVID, the show pulled about 2500 people. I'm curious where it will end up this year having not done it the last two.

Last night I finished scripting the show and loaded it onto my controller module. Now the leg work of everything else begins. 200+ hours of prep/set up...22:34 seconds of pyro-bliss...100% worth it!

Was just thinking how odd it is Lego made a new wheel arch piece for the Mini Cooper a few years ago and it's been recolored a number of times recently to be window archs, eyebrows for Groot and air intakes for the Landspeeder but hasn't been used on any other cars. (Correct me if I am wrong and another car does in fact have them) edit: there is a crappy City police set that does have them on a bad guy car.

^I forgot to mention that the tower and the keeper's house have a full interior. You can also easily separate the floors from the lighthouse.

Waiting for Saturday and a trip to the Lego Store. Managed to put to one side £200 without needing it for my car/house/kids/wife/other stuff (those items are not in order of importance).

Waiting for August 1st for #10497 Galaxy Explorer... Contemplating taking the day off to go to Mall of America and wait for the Lego store to open... Looking at the alternate build 924 and 918, thinking I probably have the necessary parts to build both from just one #10497... except the six grey buckets that form the maneuvering thrusters: I have five. Of course!

The time has come, I’m now one of the “old timers” in this hobby. I just sold a 90s lot to a kid who just graduated from High School. These parts were older than him.

He was asking questions about collecting and about building, so I pointed him here and a few other sites for info and ideas.

Did the quick mod to the 75313 AT-AT depicted here, scroll to bottom of page.  I didn't have any of these  on hand so I picked up a couple #75298 sets for $16 on Rollback at WM - great parts pack with two nice minifigs.  Otherwise I'm not particularly interested in the Microfighters line.  The AT-AT mod works well.

Feeling better, so I started work on #71042, last night, the last of my big sets,(AKA, over $100.) it's a bit...smaller than the box suggests(on bag 6), and I REALLY need to get over the idea that a set box conveys the set size. Reading Zechariah, and praising God that I'm getting better, and am able to build the SM. Who knew an old,  rotten ship could be a fun build?

@Modeltrainman, glad to hear you're feeling better! I owned #71042 for a very brief time before selling it. I enjoyed the build. Really the only "ship" I've ever owned...though this one is obviously a little outside of the traditional ship world.

Never really looked at the Minecraft sets before as I have never played it but, I had to pick up the Fox Lodge today. It's a sleeping bricky fox. I just couldn't resist it.

@Switchfoot55, thanks, buddy! Yeah, it's my first one, too. (Well, unless you count the first HP ship, which is my only 'non destroyed' one, but I took it apart years ago. May have to use its parts for the Black Pearl...Hmm...

I finished #71042. Wow, that thing is detailed. Shame the sharks get locked underneath the panels. I mean, I know those raise, but it's a shame that the fragile panels have to be lifted to see them.

I went to Bricks and Minifigs today while the computer was running something for work and was very excited to find a big tub of classic Bionicle with loads of Toa Mata and Bohrok parts.  There was a complete Onua in there and a nearly complete Tahnok, with most of the parts for Pahrak too.  After I'd done the best I could to put those together, I looked at the Bricklink prices and the B&M bulk price and decided ... it would be cheaper just to get those two sets from Bricklink, since I don't have an immediate use for the rest of the bulk that would fill out the bag.  So I left empty-handed.  When I got home the computer was still running the Python code I'd left it on, having made very little progress.  So I stopped the code from running, rewrote it in Fortran pretty quick (it was a simple little piece of code), and then Fortran ran it in two minutes flat.  Fortran is so much faster, it's a pity it has so few free libraries compared to Python.

Today I finally met @KungFuKenny in person! We shared stories of our Inside Tour experiences, 2018 and 2022 respectively, after first connecting here in the Brickset Forum in November 2019 when he received his Billund golden ticket.
Always a pleasure to meet a Brickset Forum member in person…I had a great time getting to know you and your family!  Hope you enjoy building #40502 !

Just received the Home Alone set as it is one going up in price next month.  I couldn't believe how big the box was and how heavy it is.  It has 3955 pieces, which is almost double the amount in similar priced sets like the Volvo Hauler #42114 or the Batmobile Tumbler #76240.  It currently comes to 15.82 pieces per $1 and weighs 2.5 lbs more than the same priced set Haunted House #10273.  I would recommend anyone interested in it get it before next month, just seems like a really good deal right now.

I don't know why Fortran isn't more popular than it is. It is perfect for intensive programming, python is nice but really struggles if you don't have super high end pc's.

Picked up #76171 during Prime Day, for the Miles Morales minifig. Box arrived crushed flat! Surprisingly everything survived and got money refunded, so ended up costing less than rrp.

I just had a weird occurrence which I can only ever remember happening to me once before with Lego*.

I’ve just built the Jurassic World Quetzalcoatlus set #76947 - near the end you make a small sub build to put the tools on to store inside the plane and it’s intended to have a dark blue 1x2 tile on it. I searched through the pieces I’d poured out from the bags and it turned out that I didn’t have that piece at all, but instead had a round 1x1 brick in black which isn’t even in the set inventory. Maybe I can use it as another canister to go with the fire extinguisher build though?

*The only other time I had this happen (with a couple of different pieces actually) was for the legendary 2007 MTT #7662 - a couple of the brown slopes were swapped for extra brown parts I didn’t need for some reason.

I had that before. It was in Poe Damerons X Wing from 2019. Instead of his pistol I got a black clamp piece which wasn't even in the set. Coincidentally Star Wars sets I regularly get missing pieces. Just a few weeks ago my Dagobah Training set was missing a 1x1 green tile which I just replaced with a 1x1 green brick I was given spare.
