I sometimes kick myself for not having bought a 2nd when I had a chance. It seems like the type of set that's going to skyrocket in value as soon as it retires.

As long as we're pouring salt on the wound...I think that set will quadruple in value any day now!

Are you talking about the mini Dishey castle? It is still in stock here.

I definitely saw some at my local LEGO store last time I went as well. Not sure when I'll be there next, but would definitely be willing to check the shelves for you?

I was annoyingly outbid on a number of retired sets that were cheap before the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show landed on Disney+ grr but I've managed to snag a copy of #75270 Obi-Wan's Hut.

I have absolutely no interest in the build itself, but some of the pieces will end up useful elsewhere, and I'll have a Marksman-H and a Kenobi minifigure for the training droid scene on my #75257 Millennium Falcon, yay! A spare Tusken raider will always come in handy too :)

Well [email protected] worked perfectly for me. Got Forestmen set, Aston Martin poly free and the Pigsy's Noodle Tank I have wanted for awhile along with the newest Ninjago Dojo.

You're lucky - The Forestmen set won't appear in my basket since midnight grr and I've tried clearing my cookies and using a different device and browser, same story.

But I've also been a bit trigger happy and also picked up #SW0550 Treadwell droid, #SW0589 R1 droid, #SW0373 R5-D8 Astromech droids for my #75220 Jawa Sandcrawler, a couple of Mynock's for my #75257 Millenium Falcon and last but not least, #75208 Yoda's Hut as I do not have a Tie Advanced yet for the Death Star Trench run for my #75301 X-Wing, so Dagoba training it is.

The Forestmen set did convince me to buy Optimus Prime, which I wanted, but not so soon, but the free set was the trigger!

About $55 worth of track ballast and other PAB selections plus Attack on the Burrow. Forestmen’s Hideaway and the Aston Martin both included as well.

Im debating going to my local store to pick up a second Forestmen’s Hideout so I can keep one sealed.

I was able to make an online order last night for the Forestmen GWP without a hitch. But I too am thinking about going to a physical store this afternoon after work for a second one... ugh, my wallet.
I'll give them a call and see what their stock situation is like before I head up though.

Yes, according to CS there is leeway of a few cents under the "official" threshold, to account for cases like that.

I'm kind of shocked that the Forestmen GWP is still available on LEGO.com (in the US) as of this afternoon. Maybe they actually did right and had enough of them made!

@autolycus and @Switchfoot55 I’ve seen some pics but can you please explain and identify the ballast and pieces.  I am hoping to add the Christmas train to winter layout this year and am totally new on trains.  Thanks Much!

Lunar research Base $119.99 + Blue and Beta Velociraptor Capture $29.99 put me 2 cents short of the $150.00 and the Forestmen GWP would not add. had to add a white baseplate for $7.99 to get it to add. This was at 6 AM Central time. I was surprised there were any left!

@Lo1sJess, there are a lot of versions out there, but this is the particular one that I used:

This method has each railroad tie as 1 stud wide. Others use 2 studs. Really is just personal preference (though one may offer some savings over another). I then ordered a bunch of 1x1 round and 1x1 square plates/tiles in white, black, dark bluish gray, and light bluish gray to fill in and give more texture to the actual ballast.

The picture below is a snip from a larger picture in the Winter Village thread that would allow you to zoom in more.

@Lo1sJess Switchfoot covered it perfectly. Here's the "standard" for doing ballast that I'm using: http://l-gauge.org/wiki/index.php/Reference_Instructions

R40 is the standard Lego curve. The other Rxx represent non-official track pieces with larger radius curves, so unless you're setting up a more complicated track layout that needs larger curves, you can ignore those.

I eventually plan to do similarly to Switchfoot and sprinkle in some white 1x1 tiles, round studs, and teeth to make it look snowy/icy. I'm also using reddish brown because it feels more like old wood ties, but black cross-ties look great too.

Just got home from three LEGO Stores, plus I still have a [email protected] order to show up
Hi I am very interested in 40567, is it exclusive in Lego store of United states or also available elsewhere? Do you have to separate three orders and invoices to get three sets of it or just accumulate enough $450 in one order (i.e. $150x3)?
  • Sethro3Sethro3 United StatesMember Posts: 942
@leo3344 You'd need to make 3 separate purchases to receive 3 GWP. They said they went to 3 different stores, presumably because the 1 per household rule that may or may not be followed.

LEGO has always been an expensive hobby for me so I rarely buy new sets at the MSRP. I usually wait until sets are on clearance. If I get the sets I want fantastic, if I don't I don't lose sleep over it. Occasionally there will be a set that it a day one must buy. The 1966 Batmobile, the mini scale Cinderella Castle, the Lamborghini Countach were a few of must haves.

The last set I bought was 76956 T Rex Breakout which I think was worth the retail price and something I've been waiting years (decades) for LEGO to make. Most of the new stuff hitting shelves is extremely over price (with a few exceptions) so I'm just going to wait it out until the sets I'm interested in are either on sale or hit clearance, it's a waiting game but I've got more time than money so it's the game I have to play.

My next must buy will be 76911 Aston Martin DB5. I can't believe we're finally getting a Bond mini figure.

Spent a ridiculous amount on Whatnot auctions last week.  Couldn't pass up some Daily Bugle Punishers and Daredevils.

And now I apparently collect the HP gold minifigures and Overwatch figures.  Meh.

I ordered one, but also a Dagobah Jedi Training (in stock) to hopefully ensure that they don’t run out of Hideouts before Aug 1st.

I've got all my fingers crossed that the Galaxy Explorer pre-order is still available this Friday when we're rumored to be getting another double VIP event starting. I already made two $150+ orders last week to get a couple of the Forestmen GWP, so I really didn't need a third, and in this case I really would rather have the double VIP points (not to mention that my wallet really needed a break!).

Yeah, that's what started the carnage.  Unreleased Mei, then a Punisher... then once you're already won an auction, the shipping is cheaper for additional figs.

And a week later you have more Punishers, Ahsokas and Sesame Street characters you know what to do with, and by the end, you have all of the members of Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes...

And the Hogwarts Founders.  Because reasons, even though I have an intense dislike for Harry Potter.

I'm finding my purchase-hiatus simultaneously freeing and maddening. Knowing I'm saving money that will help build the house we want is an amazing feeling. But knowing I'm missing out on all these incredible sets at RRP is super frustrating.

    Perspective is key.

So, keep posting your purchased so I can live vicariously through everyone!
