Sets missing from Amazon discount listings - let us know here.

I'm curious to know why some Lego sets for sale on Amazon fail to show up under the Amazon Sales or the BUY listing for the same items.

For example, this item:

https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Technic-Porsche-911-GT3/dp/B01CU9X8EI

is currently on sale for 25% off at Amazon, but it does not appear in the Sales listings (https://brickset.com/buy/country-us/vendor-amazon/order-percentdiscount/theme-Technic) or under they Buy tab for the Brickset product page (https://brickset.com/sets/42056-1/Porsche-911-GT3-RS).

I have noticed this with other products in the past and it has caused me to miss out on some good deals (and provide Brickset with an affiliate link credit).

Can Huw or anyone else advise why these items don't appear?

Sets generally only get added there when they are sold by Amazon rather than 3rd parties because it's rare that such sets are ever discounted significantly.

It seems to be $329 when I look which is close to the RRP, isn't it?
  • f2iso100f2iso100 Member Posts: 68
It's showing at $229 USD for me, which seems to be significant, although still only 23% off the listed price. And that's with Prime shipping, so I'm guessing straight from Amazon.

Sets are added to the Amazon listings manually and it's a process of trial and error to capture them all as they become available on the various Amazon sites.

If you discover that a set is being sold by Amazon themselves (rather than by a third-party seller) and it isn't appearing on the Brickset listings then please drop me an IM (or post it on this thread) and I'll add the set to the listings.

I've just added 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS to the US Amazon listings - thanks for the heads-up!

@drdavewatford Thanks for the reply.  I assumed there was some kind of automated feed from Amazon, so I'm very grateful for the effort you are putting in.  It is surely yeoman's work to keep up with the constantly changing prices on Amazon.

I'll be sure to notify if I see any other items.

The prices are gathered automatically but we have to manually  keep a list of set numbers cross referenced with ASINs to enable that to happen.

I'm not seeing this as available from Amazon themselves on the site. Maybe sold out? We don't generally track third party listings.

@drdavewatford #10261 Roller Coaster is available on all the Amazon sites (Europe and US).

Listings for #71043 Hogwarts Castle also appeared last week - sold and shipped by Amazon, not 3rd parties. Availability date was Jan 28, but seems they have all sold out their first batch already.

Thanks - Rollercoaster added to the EU and US listings.

Hogwarts is only showing up on the US site at the moment so I've added it to the US listings.

The set used to be listed but because of its age (it's a 2016 set) we no longer gather or display the price - gotta draw the line somewhere or the system gets clogged up with old, (generally) retired sets.

Sorry, this isn’t about missing sets, but rather ones I wish were left out of the list.

When I’m looking for Amazon deals, the ones I’m most interested in are usually the high priced ones. So I try resorting the list using the Price: High to Low option. Unfortunately, this puts a bunch of expensive sets at the top of the list that aren’t really discounted more than a few cents. For example, #75192 is $799.95 instead of $799.99.

Can the Amazon discounts lists be filtered to leave out sets that are discounted by less than $1, or perhaps by less than 5%? That would make it more useful in my opinion.

Why does the Amazon discount list keep showing #75210 at $18.60 when it also has $6.93 shipping? Shouldn’t the shipping be included, especially for Marketplace listings that don’t work with Prime?

#70835 Rex's Rexplorer is 37% off at Amazon.  For some reason the Amazon discount listing is pointing to a different ASIN.  Here is the link for the discounted item:

I hope this is the right thread...

Is it possible to code Huwbot to also display Amazon.com sales for Canadian users on the front page? Amazon.ca is lovely and all, but I primarily use the American site due to it's better selection and pricing. It'd be nice to be able to see the sales at a glance rather than having to peruse the market threads. I'm sure you'll get more click-through revenues out of this too. :D

@klinton, go to https://brickset.com/profile/newspreferences and check all the Amazon categories that you want to see.

By default it will only show them for your home country to avoid cluttering up the news.

#75964 Harry Potter Advent Calendar doesn't link to any of the European Amazon sites; only the US/CA ones.
The same seems to be the case for the SW/City/Friends ones. (#60235, #75245 and #41382)

Just wanted to say that the new "Sets you want at Amazon" sidebar is fantastic! Makes it really simple to quickly see what is of specific interest. Thanks! :-)

Yep, most of them are captured in the UK listings:

    https://brickset.com/buy/country-uk/vendor-amazon/order-percentdiscount/theme-Super-Mario

Prices were last updated a couple of hours ago, so if there are new discounts they should be picked up the next time the prices are refreshed.

    Congrats, by the way!

I missed out on a recent price drop for Art 21226 at Amazon.de and would like to catch it next time. Could it please be added to the list for the international Amazon checks? Maybe add 31205 at the same time too. Thanks in advance.

I think a few of the newer Vidiyo range aren't included - I noticed large discounts on them a few days ago which didn't show up on the tracker.

@Huw @drdavewatford I realize that many in the UK may have gotten their fill of Vidiyo sets, but in the US, I'm still waiting for clearance.  If I have these on my wanted list is it possible to have them show up on my home page (Sets you want at Amazon.com)?

some of the new summer sets like #31131 Noodle Shop do not have their EU pricing listed yet in the set info so while they are discounted they do not appear at X% off

Summer sets are being added when they're listed by Amazon, but the new products have been slow to appear, particularly in the US. The set you mention (Noodle Shop) IS in the database, however, and our price comparator shows it as being available in multiple European countries (biggest discount is in Poland at the time of writing!). It's unfortunately not yet available in the US, like many other sets.

I don't think it's possible for them to only show up for an individual user, although Huw would need to confirm.

Oh I know its not in the US, I'm not either right now. I order to EU or US depending on price.

Yes, I wasn't asking to change this just for me.  Rather, I was asking if the set is on a users Wanted list, that it appear despite being suppressed from the listings.  Is that possible?
