Maybe a supply issue of some sort and they needed to pull them? I wasn't necessarily planning on buying them day one, but they were on my list of for sure purchases. Hopefully nothing crazy happened and they won't show up.
  • Sethro3Sethro3 United StatesMember Posts: 969
I preordered the Orchid for Mother's day...they better not have pulled them! I mean, that's why I preordered, so in case they weren't available later, but ya know, LEGO has had a history of canceling my orders before so I guess we will see what happens here.

Someone must have taken offense to both Botanical sets. LEGO had to pull them, they will release their poorly crafted explanation as to why and apology at a later date.

Yeah, I'm not even seeing "Botanical" as a theme any longer (was it before?). They're just listed under Creator Expert sets.

Might need to snag that Bird of Paradise sooner than later...

As a follow up to my above comment, I did receive an email this am at 3:08 saying my preorder was shipped. So I'm assuming it is hopefully going to be here closer to the 1st instead of shipping on the 1st. So hopefully it will be here for Mother's Day.

Interesting, will need to remember that, eventually it let me in, but you do not want to try to use bookmarks or open stuff in a new tab (at least in reg mode) as it put me into a waiting room again

There's a decent amount of sets with Double VIP, a little over 2 pages worth.

Makes sense. I was using a direct product link in my main browser, didnt realize that was one of the triggers.

^ Well, it makes sense for May the 4th, but yeah, I'd say if you spend at least half of the threshold in that theme, and the rest on other LEGO, that ought to be close enough.

A general question on SaH and promos. Haven’t purchased anything since the holidays.

last night/overnight I made 2 orders over $200 to qualify for all the promos and confirmed at the time that homestead kitchen was in both baskets at checkout.

wake up to find in my second order confirmation Homestead Kitchen has been removed. The order is till over $200 all SW. the other promos still show.

I know the T&Cs say ‘one per household’ but this is the first time I have experienced it being applied. Is SaH cracking down on this?

Maybe because you ordered back-to-back? I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten multiples of GWPs in orders that were a few days apart.
Either that or their system is screwed up and you will actually get both 🤷

I ordered the Mos Eisley Cantina at 12:15, well before it was Out of Stock or even Backordered.  Got an email update at 1:48 am and email confirmation at 2:54.  I don't understand why the emails are so late or why my order is on back order if I ordered when it was in stock.  Is this because they got so many orders?

Yeah was hoping for that too, but shows missing in there also.

maybe I’ll just have to eat this one and chalk it down to experience. Spreading the orders out may be the way to go, but runs the risk of missing the sets I want, lol. Catch 22.

My order's email confirmations took a while, its due to the number of orders the system is processing I believe as this has been like this for me during a number of times I have ordered during high demands on their system.

I can't remember for the life of me how long my confirmation emails took in the past.  I just hope the backorder wait time isn't 60 days like it says and it ends up being like 1-2 weeks.

Their 'enforcement' seems completely arbitrary.  I've had some instances in-store and [email protected] where I got multiple promos based on total purchase stuck, and other instances where it was only the threshold amount triggered the promo.

C/S is usually pretty good about being cool about it, but the policy is one promo per household.

One time in-store, I think I got four HP promos because they were getting rid of them.  Something to the effect of - 'If you're spending $249.99 on a castle, the least I can do is give you two or three of the paltry $50.00 threshold promo.'

I built up my order and was 4 cents short...that was frustrating. So had to spend well over to get the promos instead of just meeting the level. I know there is usually a leeway it allows, but I'm guessing 4 cents was too far outside the leeway.

^ That's frustrating to say the least.  Best Buy does that as well.  I had a $20 rewards coupon to use in-store.  The kids agreed upon and item (after 45minutes) that was $19.99..but I was still considered short...so I had to grab a candy bar to get over $20. It's beyond ridiculous.  But they use every trick in the book to get more money out of you.

I believe you get one cent leeway - anything ending in .99 counts as one dollar higher.

One solution in the past was to add a few pieces from PAB (or was it B&P?!) to exceed the threshold. With the new parts system, I'm not sure if that will work anymore.

EDIT: Oh, duh, that wouldn't work in this situation though because the requirement was for SW sets specifically. In that case, the best option is to find a keychain or a battle pack.

Just remember that promos are designed to get customers to spend money that they would not have spent otherwise, not as a reward. As Admiral Ackbar said, "It's a trap!".

I understand. Just frustrating to say the least. And considering the main battle pack I wanted was sold out before the event even happened, I couldn't just add on anymore. And since I maxed out the other battle packs, of which I wasn't planning on getting extras, but couldn't add more of them either.. sad face... There just isn't a ton of SW I wanted, so it hurt my chances. I had to buy a microfighter to get above the limit and I hate microfighters. At least I can part out the bricks I guess. But like a keychain would be literal trash for me since I'd never use it. Maybe I can use the bricks somewhere.

I was on already when the promo started and checked out. Everything obviously was in stock that I ended up ordering. I received an email later that night saying the one battlepack was on backorder..How many had to be ordered immediately for mine to not go through and get put on backorder?

Know any kids? Or have adult friends with kids? Micro fighters make for an excellent small gift for younger children. I have a random small stash of them just in case my wife or I need a gift or need to keep a kid entertained.

An update on this. Finally found time to speak to CS, they claim the the reason the second order didn’t get the Homestead Kitchen was because the ‘One per Household’ rule is being applied, however couldn’t answer as to why if that is the case the other promos have been sent despite being duplicates also.

They were unwilling to send out another set ‘to provide opportunity to other Lego fans’ to receive the promo. First time I have had CS not try to ‘fix it’

Not sure if the online duplicate promos gravy train may be coming but given my return from the dark ages will likely limit or carefully select my purchases direct from [email protected] moving forward.

@Brickworks was the Homestead Kitchen in your cart when you checked out?  If the one per household is the reason, it should have never showed up during the checkout process as long as you were logged in to your account.  To have it removed AFTER you have checked out seems very unfair.

They are following their policy, and perhaps they are enforcing it for this particular promo.

But it is definitely frustrating if it is not applied universally.  I've had a few times where the retail LEGO stores are generous with promos, and other times they are tight-fisted.  Frankly, I don't know why LEGO would care so long as multiple thresholds are met.  Selling $320.00 of product to two people isn't 'more' on the sales sheet if sold to one person.

Maybe it's me, but I wouldn't want someone that spent $320.00 on product and took the time to call customer service to feel that they were left unsatisfied.  I'd have offered to send another promo or do some complimentary VIP points.

    Fair is relative.

LEGO CS is great for a lot of people. I've had mixed results. When I requested to get the proper spelling of shield for the Delorean set and they said they won't give it to me unless I can prove I own the set. Okay, so I had to give them a receipt (I bought it FROM them, so not sure why they couldn't see that on my account). Then they said I had to give them the numbers on the back of the instruction manual to prove I actually owned it... I gave them the numbers. I still never received the proper piece. I don't get it.

I learned years ago (but after this event), to just try again later with a different CS rep. Now in this situation since it is a timed GWP, I'm guessing that would be a bit more difficult.

And yes, it is their policy for one per household, so it makes sense to actually enforce it. Even though it has been one per household for many years and they usually don't enforce it. So who knows.

I could see them caring if they knew they had pretty limited stock, and wanted to ensure as many people as possible could get them, and to limit the number of people that were angry they couldn't get them because they were out of stock.  But it would definitely still be inconsistent with the way they've enforced for things like that in the past.

Did you buy it from a store?  From what I recall, the stores and web/phone "store" are different entities so I can understand why they couldn't necessarily access your order directly.  Even though this works seamlessly for other companies, we all know how well Lego's internal systems work...

Literally everything in my order (placed early May 1st, but the order status says "30 April") says "In Warehouse".  AT-ST, Homestead, keychain, #75302 Imperial Shuttle, #75314 Bad Batch Shuttle, and (unrelated to Star Wars, but for my wife) #41713 Olivia's Space Academy.  I'm wondering if that new Friends set is why everything is still sitting in the warehouse.  They'd better not end up shipping it without the Homestead or I'll be pretty darn upset!

I only saw the Mandalorian keychain, and the 2x VIP on 37 select sets, mentioned on the website.

I wasn't interested in any of the 2x VIP sets, so I got #75300 Imperial TIE fighter, a TIE fighter to go with my X-Wing makes sense, 75300 sounds to be the same scale as #75149. ordered 2 to get past $70

Maybe #30495 AT-ST and #40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen were gone by the time I looked late on the 4th, the AT-ST is NBD, but I may have gotten a big set had 40531 still been available:

#75257 as a Millennium Falcon at a scale I can manage (Ultra big sets like #75192 would be unwieldy for me even if money weren't an issue)
     or,
#75315 Imperial Light Cruiser, cool design I just heard about, almost like it better than plain triangles of Star Destroyers

with #40539 Ahsoka Tano BrickHeadz as a small set to get just above $160 if they were picky about the penny
