^ Not notorious to me. I've never heard of them until now.

I hope you get it without issue :)

    @jmeninno
Mine today arrived two days late from lasership.  They are horrible.  Always late. I have items sent to my office so they don’t sit on porch.  We are closed sat/sun.  Fedex/ups/Usps will deliver next business day.  Lasership just leaves package at front door of office on sat/sun for anyone to steal.
Unreal.  I guess I’ll have to buy less and only from the physical Lego store or brick and mortar stores. Ugh.  Why lego why?!

Why, Lego, why!?  You shipped with Lasership this time!?  Instead of FedEx, which is fairly reliable...you went with...Lasership...who is notoriously bad at delivering packages...?

Lasership? Sounds like some cheesy delivery service from the 80's

I've had two recent orders ship via Fedex & a third was supposedly picked up by them earlier today.  Shipment # 1 was a GWP that shipped separately from a BnP order and was delayed and sat at the depot several days so took a week to finally arrive on Monday.  Shipment # 2 picked up by Fedex on Tuesday and arrived on today (Thursday).  Shipment # 3 on the way as of earlier today (Thursday) and supposedly scheduled to arrive on Saturday so we shall see when it actually arrives.  Funny thing with this one I received Shipping notice yesterday from Lego and a few hours later another e-mail apologizing for the delay, trying to fill many orders, yada yada.
So far nothing via Lasership for me, but I've also never heard of them before so I hope it doesn't become their new shipper of choice.  Much as I hate the unreliability of Fedex tracking at least what I order eventually shows up.

Never heard of Lasership before. Hoping it's just for US deliveries and doesn't apply to S@H orders going to Canada.  I had been wondering if S@H was going to raise the free shipping threshold as shipping costs have to be going up with the spike in fuel prices, but maybe Lasership is a cheaper option.

Pretty sure it’s the last mile stuff.  Vehicles I do see are personal vehicles. Passenger cars with front and rear seats completely filled.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,563
So who would be doing the not-last-mile part?
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 1,067
Well after googling Lasership it seems they service the east coast & midwest regions based out of Virginia so I guess I'm safe from them for now here in Colorado.  The reviews are really awful.  Bad enough we have to deal with mail innovations which seems to be a mash up of Fedex, UPS & USPS.  Can't tell you how many times I've received notice that USPS would be delivering parcels only to have UPS or Fedex decide to deliver it themselves instead.

Oh crap!  I think I may have gotten a few things via Ontrac in the past but not much.  Also a rare DHL delivery other than the international DHL that gets turned over to USPS for BnP.

    Ups, Fedex and usps

Like @karrit said.  Usps delivers Fedex last mile and vice versa.  Lasership must be doing it cheaper and not very well.

I've never heard of Lasership. I guess we will see what the future holds for our deliveries. Maybe if enough people quit ordering because of that LEGO will quit using them? And ya know, raise prices to pay for other services because we need our billions in profit.

I doubt that'll work.  Unless they send everyone a survey asking why they're not shopping from S@H anymore and an overwhelming number of people state Lasership as the only reason, they won't know or care.

I think if they are really a bad shipper and LEGO gets enough reports of damaged or missing packages they may, but only if that happens. It goes to also show you that even if you think your voice is not heard, you should make an effort as you never know if someone is actually listening.

I agree, but my point was mainly that if people simply stopped ordering from them and that's it, they wouldn't know why unless they asked or you proactively contacted them, as you suggested.  Still, part of me thinks it won't make much of a difference.  Case in point, I've complained to them many times that my sets arrived damaged with the usual UPS/FedEx shipments and I've gotten responses ranging from "tough luck" to an offer to exchange to a few extra VIP points.  I doubt I'm the only one who's ever complained to them about UPS and FedEx, yet I doubt they'll ever stop using them.  I get that those are much bigger players than Lasership (I've never heard of them either), but I feel that if it continues to make sense for their bottom line, it's far more favorable for them to deal with the complaints than to change up their logistics.

So, I started quite the discussion...and my worst fears came true.  While the box did arrive (miraculously), the box arrived horribly damaged, and all sets have damage.  The biggest one, the new Batcave Train Station is so damaged, the contents are almost pouring out.  The promo set is torn open as well.

I just took pictures of everything, but too upset to deal with uploading at the moment.

I want to email Lego CS, but have heard that calling them ends up resulting in better...service?...compensation?  I know it's not always shared, but I would appreciate if anyone wouldn't mind commenting or DMing me with any advice with talking to CS (I recall some people don't share their experiences on here, or don't say how their situation has been rectified, I think?).  I would like this to be rectified, but not sure how or what I should be looking for in terms of compensation.  I'm not out to gouge them, but I (we all do) spend quite a bit on their product, so (and forgive me for feeling this way) they should be able to make it right by me...right?

Thanks in advance.  And in an effort to not seem like "one of those people who complain every chance they get", I have received $200+ sets in the past (Batman, of course) with damage to the box, even with what appears to be a thumb-hole, but have chosen not to complain.

More often than naught CS is really helpful and should just ask to send the damaged product back for replacement product. You can try to ask that they put a note say do not ship with 'such and such' company, but not sure if that can be done. I think you can also take the products back to the store, but not certain on that, or if they will just swap like for like or not. I would say call sooner than later if the promo is to be replaced as well (if they sell out they cannot get you a replacement and will only give up points for it)

They should send you out new ones.  But I would definitely let them know what Lasership is garbage and they should avoid using them.

I've done that on atleast one occasion.  My elephant-ass imprint Tumbler box comes to mind.  I didn't really want anything, but just to complain about DHL.  (DHL is also very terrible.)

If you have a store near enough to be convenient, I would call them and see if they can exchange the sets. Then you can see that the replacements are in good shape before you accept them.

^ This doesn't always work, you end up having to ship the product back and 're-buy' at the store.
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,216
Thanks so far for the input.  The problem is getting out to the nearest store is tricky, with my working and young kids at home.  We have to plan a trip like a week or two in advance, bc of work, school, appts, etc.

I also feel like I shouldn't be in the position of having to mail them back.  That's not as much effort as I can get to the post office, but it's more the point that this has happened and now I have to put in effort to fix it.

I know, total first world problem and I'm complaining...just wish a billion dollar company would get it right...and make it right too...

I think they send a Fed Ex label to you and I believe that you can set up an appointment to pickup the package as well, but not 100% certain on that.

Unfortunately the Billion Dollar companies are at the mercy of the shipping companies.  Shipping companies don't care as long as they get their money from the retailers.  Retailers just send out replacements or refund for damaged goods.  It's on them to recoup their loses from the shipping companies but I doubt they get much back or how they go about filing claims for reimbursement.  It sucks that we have to be inconvenienced to deal with packing up & returning damaged goods when a retailer wants the items returned.  I've had many retailers tell me to toss, donate or whatever when I've received damaged items because the expense for return shipping isn't worth it to them a lot of times.  I've never complained to Lego about damaged boxes because I usually toss most of them anyway and none have ever been that bad.  But the condition of yours was definitely worth reporting because there is absolutely no acceptable excuse for that.

Again, thanks to those who have chimed in.  I'm debating emailing pictures, so they can see the damage themselves, and then also calling and complaining.  This order was going to be potentially Easter gifts for my kids...but decided to buy the Batman sets at the last second.  I'm glad it wasn't (and they have sets coming to them already).  I'm hoping Lego CS will give me some good options tomorrow when I call.

I’d call before emailing pictures. That way if the pictures actually help, they will be more likely to get to the right person 🤞

Tempting, but I need to cut back this year, especially with the new stuff coming out this year. Pretty much staying away from the LEGO store until the next round of BaM arrives.

Well crap.  I bought the hotel last weekend and am caught up on modulars now.  Should have waited and bought something else instead.

I bought the Hotel too during Double points.  Luckily I did make a purchase that included the Taxi GWP when it originally was offered.  Wouldn't have minded getting a second one but at least I got the double points.

That might prove to be difficult once anything other than a $350+ sets are all sold out.  (Yes, I know that's all but four sets.)

I shutter to think I'm going to purchase a UCS Republic Gunship just to get an Aunt Beru that I'm going to complain about.

And also, I'm just going to put it out there - I will be looking for some extras of the Mandalorian Beskar Keychains.

And as most of you are well-aware, I am very generous in trades for such things.

I can immediately offer a #75310 Duel on Mandalore set for the keychain, if you are so inclined to commit to a trade in advance.

    Thanks!

Actually for the first time in a long time, there are a lot of sets available right now for Star Wars at S@H, so I can see getting to 160 pretty quick with some smaller sets I have been eying (and just waiting for such an excuse to lighten my wallet)
