264 elements short, bricklink'd the remaining 903 pieces for just under $200. I regret not purchasing that set :(
My build is stalled as I wait on a few bricklink shipments. So far this build has been fantastic. I highly recommend this build to any castle fan.
Just kidding, only want to see the builds!
Sorry if this image is really big, I've never tried to put a picture in a Brickset Forum post before so I don't know if the forum software automatically downsizes photos or not. I haven't taken a picture of the T-65v2 yet.
I even recycled the 1x2 license plate from the standard build which I thought is a nice touch 😜
BONUS: seller & I chatted a bit via email & I learned she is selling her vast Technic collection before moving soon & she's sending a list tonight!!!
Progress so far:
If she wants it back I will have a hole in my modular building collection.
Enjoy the build, it was years ahead in the modular series.
Unfortunately, my "certified complete" set had an inventory issue: It seemed to be missing 2 1x8 LBG bricks. It also had a couple extra parts. Or maybe I messed up a few steps really badly. I don't see anything obvious though, so I think the inventory was just a little off. Good news: I had some sets I could cannibalize for the 1x8 bricks. I also had a couple sand green hinge plates break during assembly. I've already placed a Bricklink order to replace all of those -- and also get started on acquiring track ballast supplies.
Similar with the dark blue arches in the Cafe Corner, they're hidden under the stairs, but visible in an alternate build, back when they were thinking these could be 3-in-1 kind of sets.
Since I only need 2 replacements, It was something like $0.70 even keeping it sand green. Could have certainly gotten away with much cheaper options in another color like DBG or LBG. I probably could have also found them somewhere with a little savings on the other pieces I ordered, but at this point, we're talking probably a couple bucks extra for a set that Bricklink estimates near $900-$1k value.
Therefore , do it anyway.😁
(If anyone has a spare sheet & wants to trade, LMK)
The Löwenstein Castle - Official Expansion has 1627 pieces (left) and the 3-in-1 Creator Castle has 1426 pieces (right). There really is no fair comparison between the two when it comes to the building process and end product.
I do find it interesting how the scale is close to the same between the two. The Löwenstein Castle looks so miniaturized as a standalone product. However, next to the 3-in-1 it holds its own quite well.
Now back to building the BL19001 : Löwenstein Castle...
I love building for forestmen as well, but think wolfpack remain my fave faction. Just completed some instructions for a 'big' (biggest I've done) forestmen build so look out for those!
