I'm surprised they are still all available to redeem.  I  haven't gotten any but if there was something in stock worth ordering I might be tempted.  As it is I'm not going to tie up points in case something might come available to order.  Maybe if they are still available when the Harry Potter sets release in March I might get one or two.

IMO that is how they should have been, I cannot image they take up that much space and I think they a neat little thing for VIPs to get if they so choose. In any case, if they wind up having 'too many' I worry that they will go back to miserly ways with other promos....

Two new Collectible VIP rewards up on the U.S. site.  They are Tin Signs, one for City & one for Friends.  They are 1200 points each.  Not my thing but interesting for those who like that sort of item.  There is also a contest for a signed Friends Tree House set and a few other digital rewards that seem new.

I had my first - been lucky - issue with missing mail.  My last collector coins shipped separately via usps in a padded envelope that arrived with a small rip and it even the tissue paper wrapper but no coin.  CS was good - as usual - and is sending a replacement with a key chain so it will come fedex in a box.

I just placed an order to get the taxi...somehow forgetting that I redeemed to get a code for the coin. So I guess I'll have to do another order sometime so I can get the coin...whoops!

But looking in my VIP, the coins (other than the one I redeemed for) are still available. So there must be enough stock to allow each VIP to get them? But maybe limited time offering? I mean, the camera is still in my VIP stock also, so maybe that didn't sell well or they just had plenty around. I don't know.

In stock, or available for you to redeem them?
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,016
As in available for me to redeem. So I assumed there must be stock around to allow me to still redeem either the coins or the camera. The coins were re-released almost a month ago and the camera was a Brick Friday thing, so that means it has been around a while. *shrug*
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 1,070
I persoally much prefer the lingering stock to the blink and you miss them extremly limited rewards.

If you see them available to redeem that should mean you never bought any in the past as that is how LEGO has it set up. For example, I was missing only the  VIP gold coin. So I saw all coins in my rewards, but only the VIP Gold coin was available for me to redeem. Now, LEGO has said at some point they may unlock them for all again if they have a lots of stocks of each left after a certain period (but they never said what they date may be). The Camera became available twice for me to redeem, so once initially and then again later (Im guessing the had a lot of stock on those), but as @karrit says, I would rather see stock available than the 'blink and its gone' way they have done things in the past.

Some new VIP rewards are up on the North American Lego site.  Some Dots stuff including the Dots Message Board Polybag for 500 pts.  Also the Spice Girls stuff they added last week.  Seems the Dots stuff is allowing multiples to be redeemed while supplies last.

Can anyone confirm if the BTTF blueprint is just a desktop background or something that I could print?

  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 1,070
Looks like they should be printable since there appears to be two different pictures but maybe someone who cashed in for them could answer for sure.  Not something I want so I'm not spending any of my points on it.

I haven't tried to print - but I'd be astounded if I couldn't! It's a download, the zip expands to 20+Mb and there are eleven sizes and resolutions in a couple of different formats, probably to suit phone backgrounds - but resolution on one of them is 3840x2560 so should print out just fine!
Use some thick or photo paper though and wow, is it gonna suck up all your black and blue ink!

I seem to remember something about this in the back of my mind on the VIP Rewards site:

"Claim your welcome back VIP points for you to redeem on the Rewards Centre. There’s no catch – they’re yours. All yours.
You can use them for some very cool things, like discounts on LEGO® sets, tickets to incredible days out, exclusive rewards and a whole lot more."

    Can someone remind me?

I'm not seeing the City survey.  Can you point to where it's located?
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,016
I didn't have a city survey pop up either. I went to "get more points" and it wasn't there.
  • Mr_CrossMr_Cross Member Posts: 1,713
Go to your VIP, click on the star (the middle hallmark at the top under the VIP banner) 'get more points'. This should be the first option. Good luck!

Thanks, but I didn't see it there.  Perhaps it's only a UK thing (going by your location).

Not on mine. So could be regional. I hadn't thought of that. Oh well. I don't need the points. I have a ridiculous amount I need to cash in sometime anyway.

Apparently Octan and Classic Space caps are going on soon as rewards for 1600 points. Not much of a hat guy but look pretty good for those that are.

Looks like the kids mini figure face is 1600 points. The two adult hats are 2,400 points each.
I like the Classic Space hat, need to decide if I really want it though.

Knowing LEGO's inability to know how many of something to produce (even though you know how many VIP members you have), I think people should also debate if its worth getting up at 6am ET to redeem points for the code to get them as waiting until later may mean disappointment....

Looking at my VIP rewards I noticed the space coin and 5 case are both sold out. The pirate, octan, and castle coins are still available for me to redeem (I never got the space coin, even though had plenty of time).

But I noticed on the Spiderman cover print that it said less than 50 left. So not sure when it starts tracking inventory. I was debating on getting one, but I'm not going to frame it and hang it up so do I need a piece of paper to put with my instructions?

be mindful that the spidey print is a different size to the other marvel prints. it's smaller...

got mine. shoved in the bottom of a box that was just a bit too small. Nice crease in the middle of it.

That sucks, I would definitely contact CS about it, as they may be able to send out another in an envelope (hopefully not folded in half so it fits, either)

Caps are live on the VIP Rewards Centre. I just redeemed the Space one ahead of an order for Jurassic World or May the Fourth in a couple of weeks. I’m not sure I can pull off the bright orange of the Octan one.

Just get some tall white socks, some well worn New Balance, tuck a t-shirt into some jorts and get outside for some yardwork and the orange Octan hat will be living its best life!

Surprise surprise the Space ones are sold out.. It really sucks that LEGO doesn't have any kind of way to determine how many that they may need for redeeming rewards.. Yknow like if they had people sign up for an account to show who they are.. oh wait....
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,837
Ok, an update. so they are not sold out, but not in the 'Featured' section (only the Octan was appearing strangely enough). I had to expand the 'Collectible' section and the hat was showing there.

This statement is rather contradicted by your previous one that you're not willing to spend 450 points on the spidey print... There's no linear relationship between the number of VIP members, and those having both enough VIP points AND an interest in the items on offer.

In any case, for Europe there were 16000 of each of the Space and Octan caps made available; only 9500 of the kids version.

I'm not really seeing a contradiction. When LEGO has something like the coins which immediately sell out AND wound up on eBay going for dear, then there is an issue.  I get that LEGO doesn't have to make the exact amounts, however, they have a predetermined possible number of members, correct?
Well then send out notices to all VIP members asking if they want it (and get the points for a pre order) and then make, I dunno, an additional percentage for those that either do not respond or for possible new members. And having these screwy release times instead of just doing at midnight or even a time like 5,6,7pm (per time zones) when people are likely to be home (and not at work) to immediately order the promo or miss out. All I can say is that LEGO could do a FAR better job.
Now, LEGO did re-release the coins and appear to have been enough that at least people can get their coin set completed or have a chance to get them again (which was great). Sorry for believing that if I'm a VIP I should not have to fight for something I would like to redeem points for.

This crowdfunding model would ensure there's a large gap between asking the question, and the item becoming available - at least 6-12 months for anything with bricks. A new reason for "fans" to complain about something.
    Nice? Sure. Realistic? Probably not.

Considering that the 2nd batch of coins are still available 3 months after release (including the space one - that's pretty recent it finally sold out), TLG's original demand estimate for these was not that much off after all.

The logo poster is still marked as coming soon.

The VIP rewards centre is an absolute mess right now. They have added 40 LEGO CON downloads. Why can't they just give stuff like that away free on their normal website rather than pretending they are VIP rewards.

Quite a weird one this. They also have one set of five tickets per match for numerous Women's UEFA matches. It works out at £78 worth of rewards for 5 tickets. Although they don't say what category tickets they are and a lot of the tickets for the group matches are just £10-15 anyway.
