Deadshot from Batman
---------
Vidiyo Red Dragon
I was in the lounge watching TV instead of in the kitchen. The owls are still there, but will be retiring soon as they've faded and ripped.
I feel like watching The Martian now! I know that's Mars, and #60348 is the Lunar Roving Vehicle; shut up! ;) This set includes hairpieces for the two space-suited figures. I think I'm going to have to get the rest of the 2022 City Space sets!
They are way cool!
I'm glad to have this ultimate 90s status symbol car in the shelf now.
But we must all bask in the glory of being a True Survivor...
#6286 Skulls Eye Schooner and #6289 Red Beard Runner
These will both be very proudly displayed at the Bricks Cascade convention this coming weekend.
(I didn't fully rig up the SES sails because I immediately had to partially disassemble both ships to get them packed up for the convention.)
I also have to say that I have new found respect for the Red Beard Runner now that I've actually built it. It's still a very quirky ship, and the play feature mechanisms are not the best executed ever, but honestly the ship is a fun build and looks a lot better completed than I expected.
The Skulls Eye Schooner of course is an absolute beauty. Many consider it to be the best of all the pirate ships that LEGO ever released. While the Black Seas Barracuda will always be number one in my book, I can definitely appreciate the magnificence of this ship as well.
Lots more pics to come once everything is set up in full glory at the convention.
In reality, like certain parts of the UCS AT-AT build, the clutch strength is really poor in places
I did manage to put some of the parts to good use though to mod my #75288 AT-AT. I wasn't too keen on the black squint and wanted a red window, so I exchanged the black 2x4 angled plates with grey plates and added 2 red trans plates to the roof tile stack. It's not perfect but I feel it's much better than stock.
The helmet nose is a great touch!
I've never built a modular, but I agree that this first step of tiling the baseplate always looks highly appealing and satisfying to me. The closest I've come is some of my Winter Village builds and MOCs.
Enjoy the build!
I have a VERY strong desire to build lately. But, with a pending move only a couple of months away and a few months in storage beyond that, I find it very difficult to break the seals on anything. Filling my time with part acquisition for more WV MOCs and projects at least.
I don’t even want to look at this set again for a while. I bought it secondhand, and it arrived completely mixed in several freezer bags. Only missing the statue from the temple, one cell phone, and one leaf.
Hmmm ... I will have to see how the Kraken part of the build goes, but maybe the lady in the tentacles would work (or half of her). At the moment I am building the Kraken per the Gargantua instructions and will then remove or change what I need to do to put it in the water attacking the boat. I did already choose different heads for the minifigs so the lady is horrified and the man is sweating and anxious at the wheel.
I downloaded the instructions, I have a partial solution to the grey socket joints: you could switch them to the dark grey ones that have a ball on the other end. You'd have to omit the red 1x2 bricks with studs on the side, to make room for the balls, but I think it would work. I think the dark grey would look a little better than the medium grey. Or, if you're willing to modify (butcher, mutilate, depends how you feel about this) you could cut the balls off the parts. (Let the jokes fly!)
I am so excited for the reveal of #10305
I've wanted these sets since coming out of my dark ages several years ago. I'm beyond thrilled to finally have them in my collection! I can't wait to get moved and give them the rightful place of honor they deserve!
