The other thought I had was that live edge tables like that are expensive.
I will build it myself. Material Cost will be on par with a similar sized table purchased at IKEA. I am most likely going to buy a live edge slab from this guy. I will have the legs build by the best local welder at Red Stitch, he does great work.

Not technically live edge, but I plan on building one similar to the bar/table I build back in 2015.

Still working my way back up to full sets/med to large builds so took a break from sorting to pull parts and build the 2x4 red buildable brick promotional.  Now back to organizing.  Happy building!

K2 has been on his own for a while so decided to build him a buddy to talk to.

He does seem to look a bit unsure about him though so also built a mediator for the two of them just incase that gun gets used.

Enjoyed both builds but there are some frustrating bits to build on R2 especially when you have shovels for hands. The dome especially was very flimsy until the bulk of it was built but very happy with the finished product.
The only real surprise for me was that the two side feet aren't physically attached to the legs and only stop from falling off by the half technic pins.

My apologies @Switchfoot55 but when a build is that nice that the wife allows it to stay built and on display, it needs a public airing every so often. 😁

I've remained in contact with Mirko on the design and instructions. It would be about $130 for the instructions/shipping...then the parts on top. But the end model is just so incredible. It would certainly be the highlight of my collection.

I just need to pull the trigger on it. I'm almost positive I wouldn't regret it! (right...?)
  • bandit778bandit778 Member Posts: 2,398
I can honestly say no, I don't think you will regret building this but I know for a fact I would have regretted not doing it. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it and it's quite possibly the best thing I've built (and I've Bricklinked a few brilliant builds).
The finished product is a fantastic display piece and pictures honestly don't do it justice.
I've actually just started looking into getting a permanent display case for mine as I hate it getting dusty and being virtually all black it is a monumental pita to keep clean.

#75310 solidified my hate for clear-backed stickers and multiple stickers coming into one picture, where any misalignment is so much more visible.
    Also stickers in general, ugh.

@TheFew nice, hope your building the updated version with better friction? Had over 90% of the parts when he released the update! Are you also including the jetpack?

According to his Instagram page he is working on a blaster to go with it too...

Great, just what I need! Matching bodies to go with the SW Helmet series!

The Minifigures by Albo.Lego are good but the busts incorporating the helmet line by glenn tanner are better (imo).

    Hi,

Yeah started building last night, to find that the instructions and parts list had changed. So had to source some more parts to carry on.

I am guessing the parts I have for Darth Vadar also need extras now too. But that is an issue for Nothrt day!

@TheFew I hope you share pics when completed! Long way off for me as currently counting down to getting keys for our new house so haven't done any bricklinking for a while!

If you use Instagram at all (ie checking for lego leaks!) It's worth following albo.lego as he posts progress images before the final moc goes on rebrickable.

Hi, yeah I will add pictures as I progress. Still need to finish my Rocinante moc too. But that one is a bit too complex to fit into the odd hour, whilst Boba is a quick build.

Never used Instagram. Seems I may have too!

After hours of building a big yellow Technic set, it was quite nice to build a very small yellow Technic set!

I'm enjoying these Technic polybags. simple worm drive to raise and lower the arm and a click hinge for the bucket. Wish I'd bought its big brother #42030 a few years ago.

Just found your channel via this post.  Really enjoying your videos on roads...especially with the tram tracks on the roads.  That's something I had been thinking about doing, but hadn't made the time to sit down and come up with a plan.  I may borrow some of your ideas.  Subscribed.

Oh wow!  No way!  That's #492 on the left (in yellow) with its (broken) trailer on the right (in blue)!  I see the (broken) sign too.  That was my FIRST Lego set EVER!  (I have many of the others as well.)  I LOVE that set...and its prototype minifigures.
Someday I want to pick up a mint 492 box just to keep on my bookshelf.

Im working on turning some of those new sand green bellhops from the new hotel set into some Napoleonic hussars - waiting on some dark green dual mold boot legs (from Batman) so I can remove the print and give them boots!

Last summer my then 17 year old and I talked about making a Zelda map to hang on the wall in our gaming room. She went off to college and the dream was abandoned. After seeing Ian Roosmas finished project, we are once again inspired to move forward.

I am a bit discouraged as to how similar this first draft is to Ians'.  I am open to any ideas on how to keep a reto feel, but not so closely resemble Ians' final look.

I am surprised by the limited amount of green cheese I own. I have 10,000s of cheese, but under 100 green ones :(

I’ve had my eye these for a while, and your posts are weakening my resolve! While I like the way the busts look, I like to pose my figures and have them hold things like lightsabers and weapons.  Have you seen the speeder bike he’s making for the mega scout trooper?  Between that, Darth Vader, Boba, and Han Solo in Carbonite I could fill up a whole other room with scenes of these mega figures…

Made some more progress on my sand green Napoleonic snow build last night

Started by using an eraser to remove some print from batman legs to yield dark green / dark brown boot pants. I wiped 3 of the 7 pairs of those legs I have. Still deciding if I should do the rest

Then started playing around with different configurations for cavalry and infantry. Still some tinkering needed with feathers, capes, accessories, flags, etc

Then made some serious headway on a base. I'd say it is 85% done, but I have a list of a dozen or so remaining details to add

Then finally started experimenting with some different saddle configurations for the cavalry

Hope to finish it up tonight and shoot photos. Any C&C welcome!

So - having a go at my first rebrickble project, figured i would go for something big(ish) so going to put this one together, for me the best example of The Outlander I have found (that fits with the system scale and looks good and is better than anything I could design) - might take a few weeks though :)
