Thanks to some hot tips in another thread, I just picked up a complete set of Vidiyo series 2 Bandmates from my closest Walmart. They were buried under the Marvel CMFs in the stocking stuffer island.

Too much. Too much. Went to the brand store for Santa’s Visit. Also grabbed the polar bear and gift ornament pack and a large and small cup of PAB. They had several types of white pieces that I can probably use for my future WV plans.

Then my wife and I went to a Christmas market being run the local German-American group. No Lego there, but it was it an area we rarely go, and therefore nearby another errand we needed to get done at a particular mall. That mall has a Legoland Discovery Center. I wasn’t even going to bother. I had gotten everything planned for the year… then my wife kept insisting that it was just an elevator ride away. So up we went. And they had Spring Lantern Festival. Don’t need it. Wasn’t going to buy it for full price, but FOMO.

That set is one of the ones that is worth it at full price so don’t feel too bad!

I couldn’t pass up sales on these (and found the polybag at Target as well)…

I’m sure I will enjoy it, and if I never decide to build it (lack of display space or whatever), I’m sure it will be an excellent piece of trade bait in a few years.

Saw a week ago that Rocket Racer #60298 was about to go 40% off so I lay in wait, seeing what else I could pick up to go with it. Tonight as the sale started I was given a heads-up that the Sanctum Workshop #76185 was also 40% off... which is nice considering its MSRP here is nearly 50% more than the US MSRP. Watched the latter run out of stock, before restocking 2 more copies a little later so I decided to grab one, along with #42121 and #60298.

Went to my local Walmart to purchase some grocery and household items and decided to browse the Lego aisle.  The shelves were bare and on my way out of the toy section I saw set #66674 away from the Lego aisle.  I had no idea about this set.  Saw the price of $50 and looked on My Sets on Brickset to see if I owned any of the three sets included, which I didn't.  I couldn't pass it up.

Got nearly three weeks off for Christmas this year and I'm a sucker for a big Technic set to while away the days sat at the kitchen table watching TV and eating mincepies. So bought #42131 in double VIP points weekend along with a couple of smalls sets for Little Miss Speedy who is starting to outgrow LEGO these days. Spent some points and used Quidco for a healthy cashback for Mrs Speedy and justified it by getting a payrise from our new owners to cover the rest. Its very yellow!

I picked up the 3 in 1 skywalker battle pack as well, basically get a free 40 buck set out of it. I already owned 2 of the sets in there but still couldn't pass it up. Also got the home alone house.. My wife picked it up for me for xmas and I accidently unpacked it as we just moved lol. She was not impressed but I really was just opening boxes to unpack soooo, I'm innocent I tell ya!

Picked up #75316 at Target today. 20% off. There was a lot of LEGO on shelves and decent sales. Check their online prices since they are usually lower and they will match at the cash register.

  • Apologies if this is off-topic or has been discussed previously (pretty sure this is my first forum post), but has anyone else noticed that the LEGO.com "check store stock" feature is missing? I went online to see if something was in stock at our local store, and I don't see the link anywhere. Thanks!
  • WesterBricksWesterBricks Member Posts: 964
In my experience, they traditionally shut down that feature during major shopping periods, to keep people from going berserk on the store employees if the website says something is there, but the store doesn't actually have it.

A store employee recently told me that when store stock of a given set falls below a certain quantity (it can vary) the website will say "zero" to help avoid that issue.

  • Thank you for the responses! I hope the feature comes back after the holidays; I use it regularly.

I just placed a "splurge" order for five more vintage minfigures for my display. The gray Zotaxian overlord was expensive, but it's so cool looking.

Need some reddish-brown shields for the castle in the forest. Will not put forestmen logo stickers on gray shields! Also needed a ton of plates for my new minifigure shelf. Was working it out of my own collection but it is eating through all my 4x stud plates to a concerning level of running out for bigger mocs.

Just wrapped the kids presents and found myself to have massively overspent recently at the Argos Black Friday sale, too much to give in their presents, so I'll keep them for investment or future birthdays.

All Harry Potter mid/large sized sets

@Astrobricks Someone mentioned in the Target thread how it seems the Bro Thor set was all Target had in stock so we may as well partake!
I’ve just watched the movie so I was pretty excited to get my hands on that set myself.

I found a partial box of Series 22 CMF's in Kohl's yesterday so I grabbed about 15 of them. Not sure I got all 10 that I want but I'm pretty sure I got most of them as well as a few doubles.  Left the Wheelchair Racer & Figure Skater and a bunch of others I wasn't sure about as I was almost late for my dentist appointment.
Later on I grabbed what I hope is a complete set of the Vidiyo Series 1 bandmates from Target along with the new Minifig puzzle.

Finally got around to opening the Vidiyo Bandmates series 1 & CMF 22 figures I got the other day.
Bandmates unfortunately I'm still missing 3 so will need to get some more somewhere.  I ended up with 2 Alien Guitarists to add to the one I already had and 3 more Genie Dancers.  Also got another Werewolf Drummer which I'm happy with.  Was able to add Samurapper, 2 Red Panda Dancers, Discowboy, Bunny Dancer & Cotton Candy Cheerleader.  So I still need DJ Cheetah, Ice Cream Saxophonist, & Shark Singer and wouldn't mind another Banshee Singer.
CMF 22 I did very well.  Got 2 each of Chili Costume Fan, Troubadour, Snow Guardian, Horse & Groom, Night Protector, Forest Elf, Raccoon Costume Fan and one Birdwatcher.  I still need to find the Robot Repair Tech and Space Creature.  I may get one each of the Figure Skating Champion & Wheelchair racer eventually.  I'd also like to find another Birdwatcher.

I had promised myself I wasn’t going to buy any more Lego in 2021 but a little bit before Christmas the Tatooine Homestead GWP came back at S@H. I’ve been watching the Bad Batch on Disney+ , so I couldn’t pass up #75314

Wont be disappointed! The figures are amazing. I too watched the show with my son and fell victim to needing this set.

Some questionable (imo) building techniques here and there, plus it could really use a stand and/or slightly bigger size instead of the speeders. But it is still really cool and the minifigs are magnificent.

I had to venture down to the city of Denver yesterday to pick up some Limited Edition Cava a store advertised from a winery I visited in Spain a few years back.  Used the opportunity to visit the two Lego stores.  Stock was pretty low unless you were looking for a few of the recent big sets like Home Alone, Police Station, Millenium Falcon, everthing else other than some Star Wars, Monkey Kid & Vidiyo was pretty much gone.  I did grab a sale priced Queer Eye set for the awesome parts it contains as well as some discounted Xtras polybags, a couple of Santa Bauble ornaments.  I also got a couple of minifig packs although there weren't really any new parts but some I had missed over the past year or so including the Blue Sweater torso & the pink Elf Torso & Hat and 2 PAB cups but again nothing really different from the usual.  Hope they get some new stuff in the new year for the BAM & PAB.
Was a surreal drive home through the smoke from the Boulder County Fires after having gone through months of living with smoke & ash from the Cameron Peak & East Troublesome Fires last year.

Upstate NY was similarly depleted of product at the retail LEGO stores.  Plenty of $500+ sets, Police Precincts and Elsa Ice Castles.

    (No Titanics, though.)

The squirrel battle pack #60326 seems to have been popular. It's now temporarily out of stock on the Irish version of Lego.com at least. Glad I ordered it earlier. It's not in the list of new  Lego on the Smyths website, nor is the Horse Transporter #60327 so I've ordered that too. Free polybag too. Now just to have some patience to wait for the delivery.

I would love to buy several different sets, but 24 of the 25 sets on my wish list are out of stock. The new Brickheadz and Chinese New Year sets are still not available on the US shop at home site, either… I suppose it’s probably smarter to wait for a good GWP or double VIP points anyway…

I'm not a big Stars Wars fan but today I puchased set #75314 after reading your post purchasing the set.  Not the best looking set, but the minfigures are a 10+.

I wanted to bulk order some new star wars sets but some seemed delayed and now the others are backorder or sold out.. Have to wait as I want them all in one swoop.

On the other hand 3 separate bulk lots showed up in my area for literally steals of a deal that I could not ignore. Now I am doomed to cleaning lego for months. The cleaning... The sorting... Nooo..

    Half of it initially cleaned so far;

    Some cool finds so far;

^I'm hoping to find some bulk lots in the near future to keep me busy. I've depleted a lot of good parts from my parts stash over the last year or so with MOCs and want to fill some items back up at a cheaper per part cost. Hopefully your luck will come may way!

@pxchris The imperial ship seems to be almost complete. Missing the main sail but everything else seems to be present. Debating on ordering the sail for it now. There is still a lot to go through but if I decide to part with it I will let you know! I like pirates but classic castle and lotr and hobbit are my main obsession.

What am I buying right now? Nothing, apparently.  Both my credit card and my wife's credit card are being rejected at shop.lego.com due to "authentication failure". I stayed up until midnight to order the lunar new year ice festival, and all for naught. It's very frustrating.

Ice Festival was the important one for me so glad I was able to order it.  I haven't made up my mind on the Traditions one yet so no biggie for me that it can't be ordered yet.  I also placed a second order for Chang'e Moon Cake Factory, the Grogu Key Light that I missed out on a while back & a pack of Extra Dots Series 6 to get the Monkey Kid GWP as well as hopefully a second Lunar New Year GWP.  Used up my Vouchers from Black Friday to lower the cost of the Ice Festival.  I was hoping the Sunflowers would be in stock but no luck so far.
  • pxchrispxchris Member Posts: 2,438
I picked up the #80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival and the GWP Year of the Tiger set last night.

I had the same issue of it disappearing from the site right before launch but luckily it was back in time for me to order.
This is my first Chinese new year set - I'm excited!
