Yeah the recessed studs point to non-lego.

Here is the list of official lego raised baseplates https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&catString=243&catType=P

Can anyone help me figure out where this mask came from? I know it's a Bionicle mask, but when I look at Bricklink to find which set it came from, it only shows me the gray version. Where in the world did this lime green one appear??

  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
This turned up today, wife found it somewhere.  Doesnt show up on BL under "slope, decorated" or "brick, decorated" (just in case the sticker doesnt belong on a 2x8 45° slope)

Looks to me like the sticker was meant for a 1x8 brick. Did you try “1x8 police”?

@FowlerBricks It’s possible the lime green version came in a random mask pack as they did plenty of those back in the day such as #8530 and the full extent of the masks doesn’t seem to be fully documented.

Ah, I see. The minor amount of info I can find labels the green variant as 'rare' and it costs about $20 to buy it

The sticker looks like it comes from set #60141 Police Station

Yep I see it on the yellow gate now. Guess the youngster I got the previous haul from liked to sticker-swap.

I tried "police" in "brick, decorated" but not in "tile, decorated".

Argh. I saw it but failed to realize the sticker is black and clear striped, not black and gray.

    Hi !
I'm having a hard time reading the part number of this part I bought in a lot.
It reads something like 26581 but it does not corresponds to the right part.
I took the pictures with the minifig just to show the size ans that there is a pin to hold it in the minifg hand. The plastic of the part is a bit is soft.
I think it comes from a theme I don't really know about!
    Thanks for your help!

That’s from Ninjago (Hands of Time subtheme)…
    https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=28587pb04#T=C&C=84

And it came in three sets:

Picked up a box of Classic Space the other day (more info coming in brag thread later), and one piece in particular is throwing me off.

    Trans-yellow, removable black ends.

The box overall appears to have been really well taken care of...most of the instructions are pristine, finding most of the pieces to sets, very few broken pieces, etc. It did come with instructions for 6941 and 6954 which each include similar tubes, but in solid yellow according to Brickset and Bricklink. Rebrickable mentions that 6941 may have come with trans-yellow.

The bends that are retained by the parts also seem in line with those 2 sets having been built and displayed for a long time.

Anybody have insight on this? Color variations between production runs of sets?

Here's a photo of a sealed Canada Samsonite #6941 with translucent hoses, so the inventory variation is genuine.

Source:  https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1118514 (green circle is in original image)
Also, a search of eBay listings for the 6941 Battrax set does bring up examples with translucent tubes.

My theory is that Lego likely had a bunch of the translucent sections left over and used those in the first runs of these sets, most likely for cost savings.
As to why Bricklink does not list the translucent hoses as alternate parts, that can be explained as an artifact of Bricklink's set inventory verification process.

Thanks for that.....I also thought to search eBay after posting this and saw some of those listings.

Now to continue sorting through the box to see what all is there

@dvaupel - Here's verification that the #6954 Renegade also came with black/trans-yellow hoses.  This is a photo of a 6954 with sealed bags that I bought secondhand.  The hoses are in the center bag.
The set came with a 1987 U.S. catalog (BL# c87us) and had "Hills" (defunct regional U.S. department store) price tags on its box.

(I didn't mention checking this in the earlier post, as I wasn't sure that I've have time today or this weekend to dig out the set.)

Bottom picture: if the parts are brown, then probably #7111 Droid Fighter- a Star Wars set. The Native Americans don't belong with it. Possibly someone built a canoe or two for them.

I recently got a batch of mixed-up minifigures; this torso is the only one I have been unable to identify:

Searching for terms such as "zipper", "pocket", "drawstrings", etc., was a bust (as the part name lacks those descriptors), so I looked at minifigs that had black hips with blue legs (970c07).  Only one of those figs has that specific torso: trn014, from #2150 Train Station.

Do kids have a thing for ripping the hands off minifigs?

I'm sure some do. My cousin's daughter always took all the clothes off any doll, action figure, stuffed animal, etc.: if it had a piece of clothing that could be removed, she did. It's disconcerting to see a pile of toys and realize they're all naked.

Wow, persistence paid off! Luck too, as this minifig was probably as mixed up as the rest. It's probably from River Runners #6665, as the (26lb) batch included some parts from that, but nothing train-related.

Was scrolling through Facebook marketplace and saw this hidden in a bulk lot. You can usually have a good guess judging by the other figs in the lot, ie lots of other fakes or other genuine cmfs, but this one left me stumped. There's got to be some genuine ones kicking around out there... 😆
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,559
Yeah, there probably are some where a kid has opened one and just played with it. You have to be careful with mixed lots. Over summer at a boot sale, I saw one seller with lots of CMFs, lots of common cheap but genuine ones, mixed up with fakes of the Roman soldier, Spartan, Lady Liberty, Medusa, etc.

    Anyone recognise this sticker sheet?
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
It's one of the sticker sheets of #10290 Pickup Truck.

It was a bit difficult to see on the picture you posted, but the "part number" (in this  case 80379/6363023) is always printed on the sticker sheet, and will return a result on both Bricklink and Rebrickable.

Just purchased a large Lego Technic lot. I have purchased many large Lego lots, not technic. I have only started buying technic sets I'm the last year. This collection has many half built sets and some custom sets sprinkled in along with lepin....annoyingly. But not mixed I'm thank goodness.  I may need help sorting it out or identifying half built sets. I'll share my proposal as I go and will thank in advance anyone who aids!

Looks like you have four Bugatti boxes there! Plus a set. Can't really identify anything else in that photo.

This is what it looks like unloaded. He was very organized when which helps a lot. From the pic with the assembled ones two of them are customized, one is modified from the original and another is the alternative build. I won't be able to start on it until Sunday when I will send pics of the partially built sets. Thanks

Can we get a clearer shot of the printed panels on the dark grey Jeep/vehicle? Does it say 'ADVENTURES"?

Searching "Technic panel, Decorated" on Bricklink would ID that part & what set it's from, though I don't recognize that set- is it an alternate build?
  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
    You have a #42096 Porsche

I'm not recognizing the tire tread pattern on the red pickup, nor see a match on Bricklink- are these all LEGO?
  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
I'm guessing this red buggy is one of the custom/MOC builds.
  • gelkstergelkster Member Posts: 927
Ok I missed the part in your 1st post about Lepin.

If you get any 100% authentic LEGO sets together & you wish to trade Technic for Technic, pls LMK.

So, what sets would you say have a chance of being in this lot, 6091 for sure but the rest?

The brown canopy (bottom left) is from one of these rock raiders sets

It could be as #6091 or #10176, they share the same base, though the stained glass window top let is from #6091 or #6095.

I'd guess there is #6291 as well and the baseplate top left is from #6082

And possibly #4480 Jabba's Palace judging by the old school Jabba fig.
