    Okay, even if this was actually $110,000 worth of Lego (spoiler: it's not), I think they'd do much better selling it in multiple lots rather than trying to find someone ready, willing, and able to pay a $110,000 lump sum.

    The description claims "9 pallets of Lego working on the 10th".  Maybe have everything put ready before starting the auction so you can actually take photos of everything?  Also claims 850 sets (new and open), 100 books (including instructions and "book"), over 3,800 minifigures, and over 3,700 lbs of Lego.

    I have doubts.

    There was a once a LEGO "Dinomite" version listed at $20,000. This "Bomb" is a steal at $6,500.

    From the looks of the photos this is no where close to $110K.  Claims to be 9 pallets and working on the 10th....however, I don't see that at all.  Give me hope if someone buys it. :)

    Nothing.  Just a popular topic.  Posting to popular topics will generate more eyeballs, and perhaps some additional donations for FairyBricks.  Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber is probably one of the sets that occupies the ridiculous level in eBay auctions.

    This isn’t so much a stupid seller rather a stupid buyer. Listed a old toy with the postage clearly displayed. The buyer bids as a buy it now. Then tries to negotiate the pricing down as he things it is too expensive. I tell him that is the price and if he won’t pay then I will just cancel it. He still wants it dropped. So I cancel the order and he then threatens to report me for poor customer service. Why are people so dumb!

    do children ask for rare sets that have been retired for a while and sell for more than the original price ? I guess they forgot about them if they knew they even existed.

    It is interesting that they sniped and blame the other person for saying they would pay more than them.

    I remember in the late 90s manually sniping loads of items that ended within seconds of each other, using multiple open windows. That was when you could email anyone and even leave feedback for anyone whether you had a transaction with them or not. You could also search current items that someone else was bidding on. One guy messaged me a lot of sweary hate mail and left me loads of negatives as I sniped him on about 20 items. I complained about the feedback and they all got removed. I also replied to him saying thanks for finding all the items for me, it is great that he bids early since I could use his bid list as a way to finding items so I didn't have to put any effort into searching.

    Sooo... I would definitely block this person and I agree with the above statements BUT aren't there some auction sites where the auction doesn't end until there have been no bids for like 2 minutes after the end time of the auction? I like that idea, everyone gets a chance to put in their final bid. I know ebay lets you put in a max bid ahead of time but no ones wants to lose an auction for an additional .50 cents. This extra time gives the bidder extra time to reconsider their max bid, gives the seller a chance to earn extra money and ebay a chance to earn more money. I have heard there is software people use for snipping which gives them an advantage but I'm not really sure if that is true?

    That is true. They will know not to overstep their bounds because they don't want to make mom angry again. Constantly living in fear because of retaliation. Lived it, it's rough. OR they will become very sneaky and do their best to never get caught.

    To build upon what @daewoo said, I'm also not a fan of humanity.  Yes, it APPEARS like you lost it by 50 cents, but that's just what the final price was...your max bid plus 50 cents.  You have no idea what the other person's max bid actually was.  Was it $5,000,000?  Maybe...but they only have to pay a little more than the second-highest max bid.  This is how auctions work...but humanity is dumb and doesn't understand that, so people wait and try to bid at the last minute.  If everyone just went in and put in their real max bids when they first saw the auction, there wouldn't be any sniping and there wouldn't be any need to.  ...but humanity is dumb.

    I have heard of the suggestion to extend the auction for a few minutes after the last bid in order to prevent sniping, but don't know if eBay ever tried that.  I remember hearing that suggestion 20 years ago even.  ...but I also haven't used eBay much in the last 20 years (just occasionally), so maybe they tried it and removed it or maybe it's some other site, but it does make sense to me.

    @Mynatt - this is precisely why I don't sell anything f on eBay.  I couldn't imagine having to regularly dealing with the nonsense.

    (Just this month I ordered a Chuckles (Clown) Funko for my daughter, waiting 30 days for the seller to ship, had to cancel the order and submit a dispute and buy another one from someone else.)

    Yeah, about 20 years ago I was selling a lot of stuff on eBay (including some 1990s Lego that I bought because I felt like buying SOMETHING and there was nothing more interesting on the shelf at the time because I already had all the Space sets).  I'd generally sell things in batches to reduce the number of trips to the post office...but in every batch there was always ONE bad apple.  Never two, never zero...always one.  If I was selling 5 items or 20, always one person who never paid or was otherwise some kind of nuisance.  This is why I stopped...along with having better paying jobs since then.

    eBay can be pretty ridiculous at times. I had a job lot of 15 used Blox figures (listed at £2) removed for violations. I had nothing better to do yesterday morning, so I went on to web chat to ask why. I had described them as Blox (didn't use the word LEGO at all) and they are a legal product that is allowed to be sold. These were ones listing on a promotional offer of 70% off fees that didn't sell along with about 10 other lots, and were auto relisted and I was planning on ending them anyway as otherwise I'd have to pay full fees if they sold.

    I started with the question why they were removed, as I had described them correctly and they are a legal product. The chat customer service operator spent about 20 minutes telling me I am a valued customer and can see I have 24 years of history with them without actually answering the question.  So I asked it again, and they gave me the answer that it was a listing violation. So I asked what that means and how can I avoid the listing violation. Another 10 minutes and they told me that it was because I am not a verified seller of Blox. So I asked them to clarify, that I have to be a verified seller of that brand to be able to sell a second hand, used toy. They replied yes. So I told them I was not a verified seller for one of the other second hand items I currently had listed, so I will cancel that auction in case I get caught without knowing and have account sanctions against me. I did the same with the second item in the list. I said I would continue to do the rest, as I am not authorised to sell any of those second hand branded items. They told me not to do that and that I should not take it personally. So I asked them to clarify that I need to be an authorised reseller to be allowed to sell Blox toys, and do I need to be an authorised seller to be able to sell any second hand toys. They confirmed that I was allowed to sell second hand toys on ebay. So I asked why my listing was removed. And again they said I have to be a registered reseller for Blox. So I asked why are there almost 1000 other Blox items on ebay and they told me it was because those sellers are authorised resellers or their items have not been reported as listing violations. So I asked how do I know if I am allowed to sell a second hand item without authorisation, as the email said I will face selling sanctions if I repeat the offense. And I was told I will know if I list it an it infringes their policy as it will be removed and sanctions may be taken against me. So to confirm, I will only know if something infringes their policy by having it removed, and if I do that more than once I can have selling privileges removed. So I said OK, and that I will remove my other items and sell them elsewhere as I don't know if they are infringing the ebay policy. To which they replied I should not remove them or take it personally. So I said I have to remove them as I don't know if they infringe their policy and I was warned in the email that I would have my seller privileges revoked if I list further infringing items although they cannot confirm whether something infringes policy until it is listed. And as I don't want to lose my seller privileges, that means I cannot list items to sell. So to be able to sell, I am best off not selling anything. I then asked if I m legally entitled to sell a genuine, second hand product. To which they replied that I am. So I said these Blox figures were a genuine, second hand product. To which they replied that I have to be a registered seller of that brand to be able to sell it.

    Their policy really seems as clear as mud. I also cannot believe Blox is pushing to have items removed from ebay. The bizarre thing is that I had loads of LEGO items (new and used) that were untouched and sold just fine.

    The other thing I find funny but disturbing in a way are the offers you get for auctions. I wanted to see what offers people would make on an auction, with the intention of accepting them if decent. I had one item that I reckoned was worth about £25-30 including postage, so I started it at £15 but allowed offers too, and set the minimum offer to £1. I had quite a few offers, some reasonable between £20 and £25. But most offers were under £10 and I also got 8 offers at under £5, including one at £2. Bearing in mind postage (included in price) was going to be £3.20 without even considering ebay fees, I really wonder what some people are thinking. One even wrote a message saying that he though a bid of £8 should be acceptable to me based on his "expert view" of the condition, and that I'd never get the start price of £15. After I rejected it, he then offered £10 and told me it was his final offer and called me a rather rude word (like that would make me change my mind and sell to him at a low price). It went on to sell for £32. I understand why they have the minimum offer under which they get rejected, and will probably set it to be the opening bid price in future.
