It is a nice model though.
I realise that I said "rumoured new UCS AT-ST" above, which is probably incorrect, if it is just to "complement" the new UCS AT-AT.
Re: Assault on Hoth, I'm probably one of the few people (along with you!) who quite likes the set! I don't have it, but definitely considered it.
When it came out, and even now, I don't have a large Lego Star Wars collection, so it would have filled a gap nicely with all the Rebel troops, Tauntaun, Wampa etc.
because they are so cool!
Entirely up to you, but I personally really like the new road plates, even if they are a tad expensive. If you plan ahead and build your modulars or other sets on standard plates, they become super easy to attach and have a more solid and lego look than the old printed baseplates. And since you're still in the early planning stages, I thought it was worth telling you before structures appear in your setup!
My initial attempt at this display. Am considering putting #75952 Newt's Case of Magical Creatures, #30628 Monster Book of Monsters, and/or #21315 PopUp Book over on the right hand side as you look at the image instead of the builds that are there now. Maybe as they are built or changed a little so they could all three be there up right as the rooms are over on the left?
(Yes I get that the 4+ truck body elements are likely costly to produce, but Come. On.)
That being said, it is quite unfortunate. I had to destroy all my modulars as well for a move, and I'm a bit stressed to find out if they'll hold together well when I rebuild them. I noticed at least one or two brown/red bricks break as I was taking them apart, so for sure there's some damage here and there.
Anyway...LEGO status! Working more on the layout!
A number of people have suggested it before but space exploration friends style could be fun. Imagine the cutesy aliens!
It seems to be an extreme climate thing ......
Maybe we should stop buying lego to stop climate warming extreme weather?
I would really like this one to work out because there are only a couple others of this set in the same price range right now, and then there's a big jump.
And I'm sure our weather up here is not so different from Nottingham!
I have a small pile of broken reddish brown, dark red, and pearl gold pieces. None of my LEGO elements has been exposed to climate extremes.
I know other's have said it's exposure to sunlight that causes them to go brittle. But, the sets that have been impacted the most have had little to no sunlight exposure where they're displayed.
I usually base my inquiry timeline off whatever the Terms page seems to suggest to be reasonable for that particular store.
