Anyone know anything about this one? Seems to be a legit 11302, except the ones with the clear tip are only known in trans-neon green.

Just a guess- a malfunction in the molding machine, the yellow dye/pigment didn't get added?

Either that, an unused prototype, or something for a specific builder. I never expect to come across these things though!

Is someone here able to say something about the history/provenance of this brick?

This brick dates to circa 1967-70, and is USA Samsonite LEGO (the European versions had post bottom).

Several of the 331-337 model truck sets had TRANSPORT bricks, but in blue.

This red brick probably is a Samsonite brick that was produced, but not sold in any set. I have seen several groups of bricks in colors that they were never sold in, from former Samsonite LEGO employees.

Here's an example... the 1961-66 ESSO SERVICE brick. It was only sold in USA in blue... however a few were produced in black, and one former Samsonite employee had 31 of these in black that they got from the factory, but never released...

So the red 1x6 TRANSPORT bricks are rare, and not used in any set that I can find... although sometimes some excess LEGO items do show up in Sears Mail Order special sets... but not these red bricks.

After reading the above I stumbled across samsonite #335-3 in the database. The box picture shows a red 1x4 TRANSPORT brick, but the physical model in the foreground has the red 1x6 brick.

Well, there's nothing complete for sure, but I see sails from #6274 #6271 and possibly #6285 in there along with mast and rigging parts and other pirates parts. There is also the wind surfboard from #6534 or similar.

^ Thanks! Yes, there are a number of other bags in the lot that should contain most or all of the other parts. But this bag is the most distinctive.

Thanks! Looking over everything, i'm feeling pretty good that most or nearly all of the ship parts are here (might be missing a sail or two). Less encouraged about some of the fort/castle pieces that I'm seeing. Indications that there's a good amount of "raised baseplate sets" represented in the lot, but the seller did not provide any raised baseplates... :(

It might be worth contacting the seller to ask about the baseplates - they may have stored them somewhere else and forgotten about them and will look for them and sell them to you if you say you'll buy them?

Otherwise maybe a project to recreate raised baseplates using standard pieces? :)

^I bought a bulk lot once that had a side build of a Winter Village set. I messaged the seller back and he ended up have not only the rest of that building, but an additional one too. As I had already bought some stuff, he gave me a killer deal. You never know!

^Thanks for the suggestion. I did go back to the seller one more time, and they insist they don't have a single remaining lego piece (or raised baseplate). The lot also included #6399 and #6990, but no monorail tracks - killer! This guy apparently had the absolute dream collection of every Lego-loving kid in the late 80s/early 90s.

Can’t figure out if this is LEGO or not. It is on my #21006 White House set. But the part is not in the instructions or in the parts list. What is it and where did it come from?

^I'm going to say not LEGO. First, the smallest American Flag I can find is 1x2. Second, the quality of that print is really poor. Even if it says LEGO on the inside of the tile, it is likely a second hand print.

EDIT - after looking more closely, it looks to be a sticker? I still think the above applies.

Then from the pics at https://brickset.com/sets/21006-1 it looks like there isn't a 1x1 plate there?

Maybe someone has played a prank on you and added it at some point to see how long it would take to notice? Any annoying siblings or trickster friends who giggle when they come in the room it's in or when you mention Lego? :)

Mystery solved. Hard to believe I did this ten years ago and that’s why I didn’t remember. Your comment jogged my memory. I DID print out a flag to fit a 1x1 tile and glued it onto it.

I could be wrong as I'm not super well versed in raised baseplates, but the studs on that appear to be an off-brand. A few of the studs have small indents from the molding process that is indicative of MegaBloks or other like-brands.
