Need to take apart models and build my own stuff... someone convince me how. In other news spent 3 days building the Avengers Cosmic Cube Truck... but I worked overnight and started building in bed all 3 days... Love that thing and Iron Man looks great with the helmet!

@andyscouse, you know we need to see pics now, right? :)
    For you and @Savage_Steel ...

Here it is ... the updated building is shown on the 1st and 2nd pictures under the main one (I added the white line, ridged bricks, white collonades atop the pillars, book depository and added internet tables on the 2nd floor for National Library Week's exhibit). The main picture and other smaller pictures show it as it was in Feb 2012.

Forgive me LEGO for I have sinned! Had to glue some lego today to make a rollerskate necklace. It felt so wrong (but looks kind of cute!)

    @andyscouse Gorgeous! very nice work.

@Savage_Steel Thank you! I think @LIT already saw this. But shocking -gluing!! Maybe a pic may mitigate repercussions thereof ...

Yesss, after 5 days (or better evenings) of building I finished the MMV. I took one of my big grey plates to place it on and added a blue 4 x 8 plate to the water and added a horse to the Blacksmith's stable and some minifigures. Defenitly my best set since I picked up Lego again. Tomorrow I hope to add the Guarded Inn to it and Sunday when we celebrate my son's 6th birthday the whole family may look at the result. They will probably scratch their heads seeing all the sets I built together with my son but who cares.

Finished a Maersk Train today, really love the way it looks. I've been working on two MOC modulars simultaneously, an ice cream parlor and a military antiques shop, but I needed a break. I can't keep my brain from trying to overthink on the MOCs (probably why I've finished so few).

Lol little background first: He is stationed in Washington DC and I am stationed in Tacoma, WA. We have been separated for 14 mths now and we were only married two months before he got shipped to DC. We met in Iraq, "dated" (if you can call it that in war zone) for 1 mth there. He came back Dec 09 and I came back Mar 10. So when were back together from Mar 10-Feb 11. Married on Dec 18, 2010.

The last week he hasn't been able to call as often or as long as usual. And I was feeling a bit abandoned/ignored so as an "I'm sorry" present to make up for that plus a few other things (nothing bad though) he told me on payday to use his acct card and get it, so I went and got it today at Lego store :)

I am still working on the store displays ATM (Theater now) but I have that, TB, Marvel sets, SW vehicle (GEN Grevious I think) and the HP 4867 & 10217 all lined up to make now lol. Got enough to last till R2 comes out now! YAH!
  • jadedancjadedanc Member Posts: 1,302
    @graphite If I wasn't already married lol

Having finally finished the Town Hall, went back and counted how many bricks were missing - a total of about 20, mostly wall bricks. Weird.
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,333
@graphite: I get it now! Sorry. I'm 36 but sometimes feel like I'm going on 60. Hard to keep up with some of the abbreviations.
@jacedanc: That is nice of him to do that for you. I wasn't trying to lessen that for you, just saying I wish my husband would be nice like that. When my husband makes me mad, or sad, he just says "sorry", and that is it.
  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,333
@Si: I'm surprised you are missing any, let alone that many. I built mine last month and we weren't missing any pieces.
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
I bought mine within the first 5 minutes of release, so I might have got the very first batch.
I was surprised too though, I'm always careful with the bricks too. They weren't even from the same bag.

Made the livingroom look like Legoland. On the windowsill The Joust and on 2 big grey plates the MMV, Guarded Inn, Prison Tower Rescue, Blacksmith Attack and the King's Carriage Ambush. Next to that my sons Cars collection and spread out in the living room several other sets. The visiting family won't believe their eyes and will think I've gone completely crazy. LOL

Panic buying stamps and wondering if they can really cost that vast number of pounds that's sat on my screen staring at me...

^Just think though you can tell your grandkids about the great stamp panic of 2012. Then spend an hour telling them what a postal system was
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
^ Now you mention it, as my family know I'm kinda obsessed with postal systems I woke up to this on Christmas morning. It's an excellent read, and I can highly recommend checking out the guy's blog too. His closing line is that our postal system is not yet past the point of no return, but it needs some serious love, attention and cash.

To put it in terms of four year old I saw in TRU the other day; Sob, Scream, Stamp feet! Went to the Lego store yesterday and walked out with only a May calendar. Saving our $$$ for R2-D2 and a trip to Legoland California. Didn't keep me from wanting what I saw!

Back from legoland again and wondering why theres not a minifig to be seen in the place!

^I seem to remember that for the legoland sites it was decided to make the models large enough to be seen at a bit of a distance larger figures and sets than standard.

If you mean your why no minifigures in your house. I am holding them hostage for one million pounds :-D

Trying to get organized for the LEGO birthday party extravaganza on Sunday, I hope the "building block" chocolate molds arrive soon. Any advice from those who have lived through this already is welcome :). I think I'll start with cookies and ice cream base for ice cream sandwiches.

thanks @Matthew really good read actually and makes some great points in it.

@savage_steel I was thinking of a Becca minifigure anyway, not being into sports I couldn't think of anything else I'd ask you to make. Not for this year obviously, and I also think I'll be more interested than she will be. I offered to make her cake as a minifig version of her but she was only interested in a minidoll and that's not enough cake :). We're working on a LEGO Clone Wars scene. Her diagrams are hilarious.

I didn't get those, I really hate silicon molds, I bought these chocolate molds instead, I can do chocolate or ice cream in them. I looked at the birthday pack but decided I could do better, especially as Becca invited about 45 people at last count and I opened it up to siblings. I have a bunch of Stephanie mailbox polybags from after Valentine's, I was counting on getting the City polybags after Easter but Target didn't discount them! I have some half-price series 5 too. I'm creating games including relays to create CMFs, building racers and wheeled creator sets and racing them, and tower building. Though I don't know why I bother, they never do any of the activities I prepare and just run wild through the house and yard.
  • MinifigsMeMinifigsMe Member Posts: 2,844
@jenni Can I come?? promise I'll do all the activities - that sounds amazing :)
Maybe the birthday set didn't get such a good discount in the states. I really didn't think you could go wrong for the price, since it includes the invitations, thank yous and cute name badges, as well as the figs.
Lookign forward to seeing her clone wars scene.

Btw - do you think there'd be a market for custom minidolls? I think it's a bit early yet, and they're not cheap to get.
Anyway, if you do want one eventually, happy to make it for poly bag trades. I can always do with more friends polys!
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@savage_steel Of course you can come, the more the merrier! Though I have a feeling that rather than doing the activities I'd find you in the LEGO room having ransacked the closet for sets you want to build :).

The birthday sets are half price even at my new store. But I think they're for 10 people and I really wasn't kidding about the 45 invitations, I don't want to buy 5 sets.

We were just talking about a cake but it seems that she sees herself more as a minidoll than a minifigure, I think LEGO marketing has done that well, but I'm honestly not sure she wants herself because she enjoys being everyone else. I'll think about what she might like.

I thought Lucy didn't like her minidolls, there's a possible source.

Going through a new 20-pound collection with a Black Sea Barracuda, Armada Flagship in the mix; 100 figs including the green ninja; and a ton of vintage castle/ninja sets.

My daughter immediately claimed the Barracuda for herself. Unfortunately we had to put the Barracuda in timeout though. The pirates are rather disappointed.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^Does the green ninja have to be in the sealed set to be worth high value? I see them on ebay now and again, not too high priced either. Mostly as a substitute for the Green Ninjago or used as a custom for it.
