My LEGO status: Writing out the book of Romans, just finished Joshua. Oh, wait. That's my Bible study status. LEGO status: trying to design Noah's Ark, still, but going at it differently than originally imagined. I need a cubits to studs converter...Also need to build scenery to get Casey Jr. back up on IDEAS.

Met my supplier and I got the new Star Wars sets as well as the new Technic truck. That should do me for a month or two.

My Classic Pirates collection is nowhere near complete, but I was able to track down #6276 “Eldorado Fortress” a couple of months ago.  I was pleased to see that the minifigs and printed elements were in good shape (with no broken clips on the flags)…not bad for a set from 1989!

I just got around to building it and decided to take some outdoor pics today..

I always like to float my Lego boats, but Redbeard must be putting on some weight in his old age!

A true thing of beauty!! That was one of my first Pirates sets I got as a kid (along with the Clipper) and I have so much nostalgia in that set. I was 10 when it came out, so the perfect age to be totally enthralled with the theme. And can we talk just a minute about the minifig selection... 4 soldiers, a lieutenant and governor, plus two pirates, an absolute plethora of play possibilities in just that one set. This one will always hold a special place for me. Congrats on obtaining such a gorgeous copy of the set!

I'd think Captain Redbeard would be an experienced enough sailor to not stand in a small boat. He's standing on the seat, even! He wants it to tip!
(I confess to putting the motor from #7906 Fireboat on #70006 Cragger's Command Ship and testing it in the bathtub.)

Yesterday I figured out how much money I've actually spent on Lego sets lately. The result was shocking: in June and July it was already €800 and that only on Bricklink! I really have to take a step back or I won't survive 32021...

I'm a little hesitant about sharing information about my faith because I don't think it belongs here. Whether or not you share your faith is personal and should not matter on a hobby forum. But we are all human beings with our own loves, quirks and believes!

Nevertheless, I must say that I am really looking forward to going back to my evangelical church on September 5th when they can reopen for the first time after COVID-19 for 3000 visitors (There are three consecutive services with 1000 visitors each.)
That would be the first time in a year and a half that I visit my church again :-)

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed all the pictures of the event. Looks like it was a ton of work to put it all together. Didn’t see any vendor tables? I like it when people can bring out their extras to sell in an area.

We didn't have any official vendors there, however we did have available tables for a swap meet type thing. I took some sets and ended up making some trades and purchasing a few small things.

I just got a call from my cousin's daughter; she and her husband are expecting their first child, and their offer on a house was accepted! I am expected to spoil the kid rotten (DUPLO and LEGO, of course!). I used to take her and her brother to Toys R Us, and then to McDonald's or Taco Bell or wherever. I guess I'll keep an eye out for clearance DUPLO, and stock up!

Got my hands on 4 moon crater base plates today and some lego... Some guy testing the waters to see if there is a interest in lego at his daughters yard sale. He collected lego for his kids and grandkids but they are all grown up. He brought a small amount (1 rubbermaid bin) but wasn't sure on how well it will sell. I am going there tomorrow morning to meet him to see the rest and will probably buy all of it being he had 7 crater base plates and says he collected castle, pirates and space between 1980 and 2000 for his kids. Cross your fingers for me all.. Also I spent 15 dollars on lego and 4 baseplates in mint condition... Kid and I are soo excited to see the rest tomorrow!

Bible study status: still writing through Romans, finishing Judges. LEGO status: I probably bought too many parts this weekend. Several printed parts,(the Brickshow shop has a sale on printed 2x2s...) and I didn't know recoloring a set could be so expensive... Although, Herbie is my favorite Beetle, so maybe #10252 should be a starting point, instead?

Ok soo I picked up a bin of lego this morning, but now as I clear out the junk and look, I see the yellow castle coming together and galaxy explorer and other stuff. The question now is how do I restore stickers... Argh there all gross and gunky... Also some weird parts I am not familiar with. I don't recall having space computers on inverted slopes and the red gates are lego but never seen them. Also can't figure out if the motorbike is lego as it seems like high quality like lego but has no lego markings....

@EGRoberts the computer screens on blue inverted slopes are legitimate! Part 3660p01. I have them in #483 Alpha-1 Rocket Base and #493 Space Command Center. They also exist in white, which I had forgotten about. The motorbike seems familiar. That's a great score! Have fun!

@EGRoberts if you’re having trouble with any parts that you can’t find by searching Bricklink, there’s always the identification thread:

@Astrobricks I have been in that thread and always forget about it.. Thanks for the reminder I will have to make a list with pictures as I have a ton of bricks I don't recognize at all and will need some help most likely.

@560Heliport Thanks for the info, I think I'll be able to build 3 Galaxy Explorers and the Space Command Center with what I have found so far, Also think the yellow castle is in there so for what I paid I couldn't be happier..

Anyone know of any good ways to clean stickers? I looked it up online and get a lot of contradiction in methods. These are old castle paper stickers and I don't want to make them worse as over all they don't seem super bad but have gunk on them that I feel like with care I might be able to get off.

@EGRoberts nice haul! Just so you know, even broken those light grey Classic Space helmets are quite valuable.
  • EGRobertsEGRoberts OntarioMember Posts: 201
@veyniac Oh wow like $10 bucks a helmet, that is crazy, I have so far found 6 of the grey classic space helmets in the haul which isn't to bad since the whole bin cost me $60 bucks.. First loads are soaking in dish soap. Sorted out a lot of trash (hot wheels, mega blocks and lots of none lego bricks). Be cleaning for a week and whitening I think but I am on vacation for next week any ways =)

@EGRoberts pretty sure that bike isn't LEGO, but some great stuff in there, happy hunting and cleaning.
  • EGRobertsEGRoberts OntarioMember Posts: 201
@scottdd2 Ya doesn't seem to be, 2x2 studs on the back for a motorcycle... No branding on them at all. I have pulled out a ton of knock off lego and mega blocks from the bin so not sure where they came from. They may actually get held onto though as there not bad looking for a lego town addition. My floor is covered with towels and lego drying and I am only 1/3rd the way through the bin.. Dropping my car off for repairs and it will be a day or two so that will force me home to complete it lol. I shall be cleaning and sorting all day.

Lego status = Itchy, very very itchy...  Cleaning used lego I bought and it had bugs galore with egg sacks and dead bugs entombed in between built bricks.. Add that with the parts kids used permanent marker on, the mega blocks, the hair, gum, slime, and yucky yucky grime I was sounding like golem cleaning it out.
