The guy is selling his house, and his adult son didn't want his Lego collection from the basement. I flew out the door to pick it up before someone else could snipe it, and I floated on a cloud the entire drive home.
Treasures include:
#4559 Cargo Railway - complete with box, plus switch tracks, extra straights and curves. He said they only set it up for Christmas, and it shows. Like new condition.
#6079 Dark Forest Fortress - nearly complete but missing an $80 minifigure
#6198 Stingray Stormer - missing one part, and included the box
#5956 Expedition Balloon - absurdly valuable, apparently.
#9748 Droid Developer Kit - seems complete, the R2-D2 head panels are still sealed
#6280 Armada Flagship - incomplete but mostly present
And some other incomplete chunks of little 90s sets from Town, UFO, Insectoids, etc.
This is definitely a set that I decided I'd never own as I couldn't bring myself to pay full retail. I was giddy the whole ride home!
But even better last week i got a #60118 Garbage truck for 50p. Sold as incomplete, it was missing just 2 1x1 round plates but included #60053 race car and #60011 rally car inside the box. There was also a knock off small police boat. I donated the police boat the next day, and it appeared on the shelves at £2.50! Crazy random pricing.
Cost: $5.00
The dumb grin on my face: priceless
(I know, the second one makes no sense, but LEGO really doesn't make 1x5s, other than UniKitty faces.)
Not available in Hawaii, Alaska or Mississippi.
for $200 🤩🤩🤩😍😍
There were a bunch of Fright Knights & Dsrk Forest sets I had to give back, too rich for my blood
Well AFAIK he's legit & so far seems to be a great person. Some sets I gave back were
Witch's Magic Manor
Witch's Windship
Traitor Transport w/ plastic cave
Dragon Wagon
Bat Lord Catapult
Rocky Reef Refuge (was missing several parts)
Forbidden Island
But seriously, Fright Knights is a goldmine of awesome set names.
Though I am finding some treasures in that "assd. Technic" batch...3 Tiny Turbos, parts of #8230 Coastal Cop Buggy (I prefer the alternate name Miami Police Patrol 😎👍)
And I also found this little oddity
#75084 wookie gunship
#75214 anakins fighter
#75140 resistance transport (with instr)
#75022 mandalorian speeder
Initially looking £100, but is taking £75. No boxes for any.
Is this a good deal? It seems OK to me, but I'm not an expert! I see that some of those sets have unique minifigs, the mechanical darth maul seems to go around £10 on its own.
Should I go for it?
This lot was £3.60
And this lot £7.50. There are 22 minifigs in here, plus another 12 Angry Birds, a complete Creator prehistoric animals / Dino. I've yet to check the sets but there seems to be the Angry Birds King Castle, TLBM Mr Freeze vs Batman, a couple of the mini superheroes sets, some Ninjago, a City advent calendar , a City forest tractor, a couple of smaller SW sets.
