how many different chocolate frog cards are there?
  • f2iso100f2iso100 Member Posts: 68
There are still more cards coming in the Advent calendar!
  • klintonklinton Member Posts: 1,256
I found #30392 today and knocked two more Chocolate Frog Cards off my checklist. Four more to go, hahaha.
The set itself is kinda meh, but more owls to populate the builds are always welcome.

Can you see the Chocolate Frog card through the polybag, or is it all opaque? It's still the cheapest way to get them. And I want more owls, too!
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 1,068
I've been looking but haven't found any new polybags since early spring.  Hoping Hermione shows up somewhere soon.  Also hoping to get many of the ones that were announced way back like #30331, #30388, #30564, #30569, #30570.

    Toys R Us.

You can indeed. I wasn't able to search through them though. The manager had to pull them from the back as they weren't out on the floor yet. So I just asked him to grab me four bags.

I found that last one at TRU about a month ago. I haven't seen the others on your list though.

So why is a question about LOTR sets in a Harry Potter thread?

I'm pretty sure its wizardist to assume that all wizards are the same.

The Advent Calendar this year is rubbish. Unless you declined to get Diagon Alley, it really offers nothing new nor interesting outside of the train ticket and Leaky Cauldron sign. The builds are all half finished pap, with no new micro builds nor anything you might want to incorporate into your existing HP setup.
And, in my case, niether of the Chocolate Frog cards were ones I needed. So that was just a little extra disappointment on top of disappointment. Hahaha.
Thankfully, the new D2C will be here soon so that this year isn't a complete write off for HP Lego.

well that's disappointing. might wait for them to go on clearance.

Yeah, it is just half finished part builds this year. I wasn’t impressed with last years outing. for the advent calendar I really hope they rest it next year.
  • J0rgenJ0rgen Member Posts: 604
I think this year's advent calendar looks good. A nice, affordable way to get a lot of key moments from the beginning of the first film, a much anticipated Dudley with printed accessory, as well as a Hogwarts robes battle pack. I'm surprised they didn't do something more Christmas-y, but it's the 20th anniversary and they've already done Christmas Year 1, so it actually makes sense. I call Hogsmeade Year 3 next year.

It's good to see four Wizard Cards on the wall. I still need two and thought that I might need to buy the Hermione polybag twice.

I'm very happy the dorm isn't a must have set! I would have wasted a lot of money if I had to buy sets at RRP to get it.

I always presume that Avent calendars are the extra mis-mash pieces and production over-runs that are blobbed together.

All at a high CPP, so there is a completeness to the disappointment.

Hogwarts Gryffindor Dorms GWP, does anyone know what the spend needs to be to get it?

With the current promo on exchange of VIP points sort of getting myself prepared.

Thanks if anyone does know, suspect or guessing at £75 pound spend for the UK.

Looks like £100 (and $100 in the States) per Brick Fanatics…

I saw that as well, but I’m not sure if it’s just for the US or worldwide.

I think this question has been asked, but can't seem to find the answer. Does anyone know how many Chocolate Frog card/Wizard tiles in total there is?

@sirrich69 There are 16.  I've gotten all the sets that contain them including 2 of each GWP but I'm still missing 2.  Hoping to be able to get the ones I'm missing in the Polybag if/when it shows up for purchase in Target, Walmart or Joann's.

Looks like LEGO is going to be releasing a new 'Magical Trunk' set as I keep seeing adds for it on Facebook.  Link here: https://fb.watch/9DywZK7t_8/

Someone asked in the comments if this was going to be a new set, since it's unclear, and LEGO confirmed that it would be, with more details coming soon.

Doh!  It totally passed me by in all the advent calendar news.  I have to admit, I was rather shocked that I didn't see an article on it already, with LEGO advertising it so heavily, lol.
  • autolycusautolycus Member Posts: 1,432
The trunk is kind of fun, but probably not anything I'll be buying. I think it's a nice match with the "Hogwarts Moments" book line. Small playset that will stow away nicely on a bookshelf and look decent while there.
  • daewoodaewoo Member Posts: 851
If there are unique minifigs, then I will definitely get a copy or two.
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 889
Since Fantastic Beasts 3 is going to be released in April next year, I really hope there'll be sets coinciding with it! I'm afraid there aren't going to be any though...

So... Lots of leaks and rumours lately, but nothing yet about this Summer's Harry Potter sets, apart from a list of set numbers and prices. What do you think this year's sets will be? Even though all subject matters are up for grabs following last year's reboot, I don't think we'll see too many remakes, although there will probably be some. The prices are as follows:
    76400 – $19.99
    76401 – $49.99
    76402 – $79.99
    76403 – $99.99
76404 – $44.99 (Rumoured to be this year's advent calendar)
    76405 – $469.99
    76406 – $49.99
    76407 – $89.99
76408 – $119.99 (Possibly more buildable figures, as its the same price point)

I really look forwards to seeing the 20$ set, as the previous ones have been amazing, depicting pivotal moments and featuring great minifigs. I think one of the 50$ sets will be a new Hagrid's Hut, as the previous one retired last fall and I can't see them leaving that off the market for long. The other 50$ set could possibly be a new Quidditch set, or, if we're lucky, a new set based off the Second Task. There's not too much to build for a Second Task set, but it should include up to 10 figs, so can't be too small either (even if #71735 Tournament of Elements set a good precedent with 7 figs in a 25$ set). The 80$ could be a part of the castle, although no obvious candidate presents itself, as everything has been done fairly recently, so maybe its a long awaited new Shrieking Shack? Its the same price as last year's Hogsmeade set, so I'd really like it to be an extension to that, perhaps featuring the Shrieking Shack and the Hog's Head? The 90$ and 100$ sets can both be parts of the castle, but I hope at least one of them is a collectable I won't want (i.e. a mosaic or large scale object).

The big question is, of course, what is #76405? My biggest fear is that it's another "half" to Diagon Alley, featuring Gringotts and The Leaky Cauldron. My fiancé still hasn't gotten over my buying #75978 (and I'm not sure I have either). There's no room (financially or spatially) for another set like that, so I really hope it's a large scale object (buildable broomstick?) or another microscale, although I have no idea what such a set could be based on... My biggest fear is that it's a Death Star-style Ministry of Magic, because I will definitely want that. I have a real completionist itch for minifig scale Harry Potter, so I really hope I'm spared the tempation of something awesome with this set. Time will tell...

This is quite possibly the best wave yet! I can't possibly express how excited I am to see Kreacher!

It's still so completely disappointing that they changed direction on the castle line when they did. For kids, this version seems like a big winner. The modular concept is great, but the execution just don't look as good. Play value looks solid. Display value, not as much. I really wish they'd gotten in one more year with a small or medium and a large Hogwarts castle yet to finish out the full movie series.

The other sets look pretty darn good. The Horntail and Shrieking Shack are my favorites from these releases.

I like all of them but especially the Black family house and the Shrieking Shack. I’m happy we are getting Kreacher but I’m also glad to see Tonks and Kingsley Shacklebolt. Did you notice the extendable ears in number 12 Grimmauld Place? 🙂

I just noticed that the brooms are new builds, and not the usual part they use. That's kinda fun.
