Has anyone seen the Hidden Side Newbury Haunted High School in their local Costco?  If so what was the price?  Trying to decide if it's worth ordering online for $99.99.

where online can you get it for 99?

Costco.com is selling it for $99 to members. They have a handful of sets like these that aren't in stores, but available for online purchases usually.

Sometimes they get sets in the actual store at a lower price than they sell them online.  They build their shipping costs into the online price.  That's why I was wondering if anyone had actually seen it in a store.  I passed on the Townhouse Pet Shop & Cafe at $69.99 because I was hoping to get that one at a slightly better price.  They aren't showing that one currently.

Costco online is currently showing full boxes of the DC Super Heroes CMF's for $229.99 for members only.  They seem to be starting to get some other items back in stock also finally.

My Costco has the LEGO Minifigure: A Visual History DK book with the Orange Classic Space figure for $24.99.

The lowest I've seen it on Amazon was about $27.50ish, so this is good!

Costco has these online, but the price is $45. It sucks because the stores around me don't seem to be getting them, at least not yet.

Update: one of the few Costco stores in my area got the pallet display with #60308, #31118 and #75312. I've been calling a checking infrequently over the past couple weeks. If you're looking for any of the sets, call your local store and ask for product number 1630002. They were very helpful when I called, even telling me that they knew they were on the way, but not in the store and when they finally got them, they told me the total number of sets available on the display.

FWIW, my Costco has The Child for $62.99, I just saw a palletful of them this afternoon. It’s a couple of dollars cheaper than the “regular” 64.99, maybe they’re not moving quickly enough.

Guess I'll need to keep checking the Timnath location.  Only LEGO they had Wednesday were the Avengers Mechs, a couple of Super Mario sets & Grogu.  I grabbed a Grogu.

Had to go to Costco to buy a new computer today.  They had the above mentioned two advent calendars.  They had the Creator 3 in 1 Castle and the Heartlake City Grand Hotel for 74.99 each.  They also had one of the Marvel sets I think it was Endgame Final Battle, a couple of other Friends & City sets (not any Wildlife ones but one with a Helicopter), Boba Fett's Spaceship and all the others I saw last week all with varying prices but seemed to be 25% off rrp mostly.

#31120 Medieval Castle is now up at costco.com for $79.99 (20% off). Been checking almost daily since I've struck out trying to find it in three different stores in my area. This set is a great value at full price, and an amazing value at 20% off - 5.6 cents per piece, and good quality pieces at that!

nice. unfortunately, i'm not a member. no costcos around me.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,838
To me, a 20% discount is not worth the membership I would need to buy to be able to get it at that price. At 20% off it will wind up at that price on Amazon at least 2-3 times during its production run anyway (if not lower).

In store it's actually currently 25% off.  Online orders they add in the shipping cost.  I buy plenty of other stuff there to make my Costco membership worthwhile but I get that it isn't for everyone.  As the holidays draw nearer sometimes they reduce the prices further so sometimes the sets they have end up being 40-50% off.  Their return policy is great so even if I end up eventually getting something at a better price elsewhere I can return the one I bought from Costco.  I recently returned a bunch of jeans I had purchased 2 & 3 years ago that I'd never worn that ended up being the wrong size as a result of significant weight loss due to illness.  I was hesitant to try to return but they had no issues with it and had even encouraged me to bring the items back.

I like seeing some of these sale prices, but I would never use the membership enough to justify the discounts. Just like at Barnes and Noble. I don't shop there enough to justify the extra charge for membership.

There are, in fact, many other things to buy (at a discount) at Costco. We frequently make up the cost of a membership in a single day's purchase.

Apparently some Costco stores clearanced out their Advent Calenders down to $8. I think mine may have done so, because they were completely cleared out of them when I was in yesterday but still had a solid stock of them when I was last in less than two weeks ago.
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 1,070
My Costco store hasn't had any Advent calendars for well over a month.  The only Lego recently aside from the three book sets is The Child, a Super Mario set and one of the Marvel Mech sets.

Just driving by the parking lot (or through it sometimes to get to a different store) triggers too much social anxiety. Way too many people are already shopping there I don't think I'd ever feel comfortable. Let alone buy the products. *shrug*

My local Costco stores have the Christmas gifts/LEGO out by early October. If you've not pulled the trigger by the first week of November, you're out of luck. They already have their Spring stuff out by then.

(This is only a slight exaggeration)

The LEGO minifigure book has also recently dropped to about 22 dollars via Amazon.. My guess (hope) is it gets well under 22 dollars at some point in its run.

My local Costco reduced The Child to $49.99.  The sign said the price reduction was good through 12/06.  Now I have to return the first one I bought because I've had it too long to just get a price adjustment.   The only other sets in stock were the Eternals Mech & Super Mario.

I was at my local store last night and saw the Throne Room set as well. I just about pulled the trigger based on the figs alone. Not as big of a fan of the build...but will likely end up getting it eventually.

Exactly this. And the benefits of saving on LEGO for the price of the membership wouldn't do me any favors. I have no interest in shopping there for anything else. Plus, I don't like people so I wouldn't want to go there. It's ALWAYS crowded.

But maybe find a friend that has a membership, and they could pick one up for you??

For those not afraid to enter the ~scary~ Costco warehouse, Boba Fett's Palace (#75326 for $80) as well as #76190, #60328, and #41700 (for $32 each) were at Pentagon City in Arlington, VA.

I saw it last week but didn't take note of what the price was, though the pricing is usually pretty standard across the board.

One of my LUG members found the Dark Troopers set locally for that price. I'm going to try to get over there this week.

Hope I can find some of the new sets in my local Costco.  Might have to wait until next week to get there though.  I did get the Beach Life Guard Sation & Friends Beach Glamping sets a couple of weeks ago but I haven't been back since.
