I recently purchased a second set of the buildable Minions. I built the set I'd just purchased and realised that the little control panels on two of the 1x2 tiles had been updated since the instructions were made. One was also now LBG instead of DBG.

I just opened the buildable Minions set I bought a few months ago, and that still has the original print as shown in the instructions. Below is a pic showing the old prints featured in the instructions (bottom) v the new prints (top). More silver printing on one of the tiles which is nice.

In a set with Mysterio there are always going to be a few things where you can't quite trust what you're seeing.

Looks like Rowena Ravenclaw has been at the Polyjuice Potion in the instructions for #76386

I’m at the Mall of America Lego store and just noticed an error on the back of #21051. They call the Tokyo Skytree the “Tokyo Skyline”. Autocorrect error maybe?

Just wandering Target and noticed they have corrected this :)

Also as I searched for it, I realized this thread doesn’t seem to have anything to do with collecting. Maybe it should be under Everything Else LEGO. Mods? @Yellowcastle

Lol, they corrected the English but left the French and Spanish to fend for themselves.

I think that’s because Tokyo Skytree is a name/brand, not a normal word like skyline. Same reason they didn’t translate Big Sight.

It’s always nice to run into other obsessives. :o)

As with most attempts at grouping, I find you always end up with a platypus.  Our categorizations here seemed pretty straightforward at Go Live but time and drift can make things more fuzzy.  Additionally, we started with an Off-Topic Ban which is why we specifically called it ‘Everything else LEGO’.

Lastly, most topics tend to cross streams.

    • Tracking End of Life dates got marginalized with secondary market valuation and pretty soon both got sequestered to Buying and Selling and the demon thread.
    • Photography of a MOC you’d like showcased which you also ended up submitting to Ideas results in some folks posting it to 3 different places.
    • Minifiguresplus is both a retailer and forum member so their offers fall into a gray area between Shopping and Marketplace (also we have Shopping set up by region which doesn’t clearly cater to non-regional online suppliers)
    • And one can argue that every competing category really is a different aspect of Collecting.

I don’t know if this is right or in line with the majority, but I see the categories as follows (excluding the self explanatory):
    • Collecting - Discussions on LEGO sets, themes, pieces and everything in between
    • Buying and Selling - Discussions on specific retailer questions/comments/concerns and macro level buying/selling concepts
    • Building and Techniques - Discussions on issues/advice/showcasing on building, layouts, etc
    • Shopping - Discussions on current sales, offers and availability from LEGO retailers
    • The Database - Discussions on set info, tags and any errors or omissions
    • Brickset.com - Discussions regarding issues/concerns/recommendations for the main site
    • Everything else LEGO - Discussions on LEGO other type stuff (LEGO on TV, etc)
    • Off-Topic - Discussions on Non-LEGO type stuff (Jokes, Reading, etc)
As such, I would likely park most all of the LEGO stuff we talk about in Collecting (including production errors). :o)

To be clear, there’s a lot to like about said posts.  They’re insightful while still being endearing, all with a soupçon of levity and wit.  And it was a single, poignant wow for which I was supplementing an obvious bumblepants like that had simply gotten misplaced during the great LAAT SPLAT of 2021.

Yeah. Unfortunately, LEGO seems to be having some trouble keeping certain colors consistent. I've read about some other users having some trouble with that around Brickset.
Also, is it just me, or do sets with certain grey bricks have either lighter or darker shades?

I found an error in 8075, more of a design change.
check the pillar connecting the loading platform with the rest of the ship.

Now check the instructions for that part.

It is clearly quite different, I think changes have been made for structural integrity.

check, but the build is significantly different as well, it looks like there is a stack of 3 (maybe2) of the lime cylinder pieces. Also, ther are three DBG bricks on top of the sloped pieces instead of 2 with plates.

The only thing I can clearly discern from the above images is that the instructions show the click hinges underneath the wedge plates instead of on top directly under the double roof slopes. The rest of the pillar is too hidden in the upper image.

Ha! The box is long gone. I'm not sure where the instructions are at the moment. But my model matches your image of step 15.

Just saw this while rebuilding the Disney castle  #71040 after cleaning it. Step 558 doesnt include the 1x2 plates with the rails but it clearly shows them being added in that step. They are part of the next step.

In the 1980s (at least), some instructions came with black-and-white inserts that had updated instruction steps.
For example, my #6987 Message Intercept Base booklet (numbered 120658) had a half-page insert (numbered 120705) that corrected an error in Step 15, which originally omitted a sub-build.

(For those who want a closer look, Peeron has scans of the same booklet version and insert.)
A double-sided insert (numbered 120648) was also included in some #6062 Battering Ram sets.  That insert had four updated steps.

These steps were incorporated into a later printing of the instructions (numbered 120649).  I'm not sure what the issues were with the original four steps, as I only have the corrected version of the full-color instructions, which is also the version available via Peeron.
The above inserts from #6062 and #6987 are the only instances that I'm aware of, though I'm sure there were others, so if you know of any, please post them.  I'm also curious if there was ever an updated printing of the #6987 booklet.

I'm not at home, so I can't post pictures tonight, but two that come to mind are #6982 Explorien Starship and #6765 Gold City Junction. Each had a full color insert that showed a correction. For #6765, it was an improcement to the "exploding" feature of the wagon. For #6982, it added a 2x2 plate to the bottoms of the ends of the hinged arms, one of which had a magnet and the other the transparent red and blue radar dishes.
I'll need to look at my booklet for #6987 and see what version I have.

My memory was slightly off: only the magnet arm in #6982 Explorien Staship needed a 2x2 black plate added. Page 41, step 35.

I noticed an error in the UCS AT-AT instructions. Parts appear in step 549 that aren't meant to be added till step 550.

Yes. It was easier to grab a screenshot of the digital instructions. I was half-wondering if they might have been fixed since the physical instructions had been printed. Evidently not.

It's a minor error, to be sure, but it's the first one I've caught. In #41439 Cat Grooming Car, the two triangular pieces appear on top of the mirror as soon as it is placed in step 5, even though they only show up to be placed in step 6.

Was rebuilding #6882 Walking Astro Grappler. The mini-build in step 11 features the anti-stud portions of the two 4590 elements changing color to trans-red. The color change persists through the rest of the steps.

I don't see an error. Unless you enlighten me, I'm going to spend the rest of the night staring at this image.
