First, this thread is ridiculous. I hate when forums use ONE thread to cram hundreds of posts about the same thing in. At this point, part/set/minifig identification should be its own forum. People aren't even bothering to follow the rules about pic size/resolution either. Plus, it makes new post notifications REALLY annoying when all I'm interested in is my post. Meh...

Anyway, I have this Technic octagonal 8x8x2-stud part with 2 ball cups (sockets), a center/middle connector, and a 2x4 hollow stud end/top. Any ideas? I searched through Brickset and Brickowl. No LEGO logo or numbers anywhere on the part that I can find.

No LEGO logo? Most likely not LEGO!

I'm not finding anything on this one either. The lack of logo or numbers would strongly support not LEGO. Also, there is something about the mold and plastic quality that seem non-LEGO to me.

I'd agree that starting a help request by blasting the community is maybe not the best forum etiquette. I'd agree there is likely a market for a "part identification" specific forum. That's not the intent of this community, but anyone would be welcome to fill that void. Personally, I've found these forums to be extremely easy to use and to get notifications of replies. Not to mention the multitude of support and knowledge available among the members.

I do hope you're able to locate this part name, LEGO or otherwise!

I thought this thread had a very simple purpose:
    “What’s this part/set/minifig?”
    “Hey, it’s X from Y theme”

It’s not meant to be an easily navigable catalogue. Just ask what something is and you get an answer, usually very quickly.

First, this user is ridiculous. I hate when users use ONE thread to cram in all of their griping about the way things are done. At this point all users should have their own forum where only they can post whatever whiny diatribe they want. The notifications about this user are REALLY annoying, I'm only interested in my own opinion on things. Meh indeed...

It’s #7259 ARC-170 Fighter. Unfortunately, it looks like none of those three minifigs came with it.

Hi! Brand new to Brickset forums, however I've been in FB AFOL groups for a while now.

I've been lucky enough to come across this Lego Business Card minifig for Lene Friis, from Denmark. I've tried contacting her via social media via whatever legit contact information I could find, but I'm afraid she'll never see my messages, or take me for a marketer.

All I really would like to know is which hair piece was used for her hair, so I can complete her and add to my minifig display.

Any suggestions on how to find out? I did try googling but didn't come up with any pics for the figure. Plenty of pics for Lene though, looks like she may have blonde hair....if that helps.

    Thanks!

    Welcome!
Business Card minifigs usually keep things pretty generic when it comes to hair pieces. Lene may have had something like a tan version of this piece based on her publicity photos - https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4530&idColor=69#T=P&C=2 but I couldn’t tell you that for 100% certain - this is just based on similar female Lego business card minifigs that have used the same piece a few times.

Though not classic Lego or displays, someone like @LusiferSam or @Istokg may have an idea, as it’s definitely clear simple searching online doesn’t produce much here. I’m guessing there could be a database of Lego Minifigure business cards somewhere possibly, unless it’s even too niche for that.

Thanks! I was hoping to find that someone had the exact same minifig, but Im starting to realize that for many of the business card minifigs there are only a couple of known copies, and many of them only have one known copy So I might be forever trying to find an exact replica :/

If anyone has leads on an expert who *may* have seen one for Lene that would be great, as I'd love to continue the persuit for authenticity, but I do think you are right, after looking at the other female minifigs I could find pictures for. Seems like if you had blonde hair, you got the standard blonde hair piece you posted a link to, so Im going to go ahead and gift her one of those.

At one point in time @samiam391 had quite a few of the business card figs, perhaps he could help - or look back through his Instagram feed perhaps.

Business card mini figures are definitely outside my areas of expertise. I've seen a number of folks that collect these and have photos on Flickr, Instagram, and other social media sites.  I don't know the names any experts or any major business card mini figures collectors, so I can't really help there.

One thing you might do is see if you can find a photo of Lene Friis and match a hair piece to her photo.  There several people with several versions of their mini figures with several updates and changes to the head, hair and torso.   Jørgen Vig Knudstorp and Kjeld Kirt Kristiansen are the two that come to my mind, but there are others.  Any way if you find a photo and reasonable hair piece match, there is a good change that is the correct piece or at least a good stop gap.

Brain fart - I meant to mention Samiam as well but totally missed out that I hadn’t finished my post!

Definitely the best ‘known’ business card minifig aficionado in the business ;)

Ditto here... LEGO Business Card minifigs are also not my area of expertise.  Never owned a single one.  Hard enough trying to keep track of 17,000 LEGO sets...  😳

Thank you @datsunrobbie. I now know the cool looking granny is Dottie, the bloke is Luis with the wrong hair. I think the girl might just be a mix of parts.

@BrickSara - Employee minifigures are produced in minimum batches of 50; there aren't any with just one copy as long as they were actually licensed by LEGO. However, I will say though I know of about 200 different employees and I am not familiar with Lene. Sorry, that I can't be of more help!

Can I ask for a colour check? The cross plate is medium lavender, the brick (with clip, not visible) is medium blue and I think the left cheese slope is medium azure while the other one looks like bright light blue to me, but this piece does not appear in the database in that colour? (It's not a very good image, sorry, but I hope it's clear enough?)

  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,478
On my screen the brick and the left cheese slope are the same color.

On my phone the slope on the right is a brighter color. Don't know if it's an official color, or miscolored like we get with dark red.

Agreed… The two pieces on the left look to be medium blue while the cheese slope on the right looks to be medium azure. The 3x3 cross plate is medium lavender.

I took a new photo with just those two pieces and on my phone they also show as being the same colour while IRL I can make out a difference. I'll note it as being medium blue and chalk it up to colour variation then, thanks all!

top 2 torsos are in question. I ID'ed the bottom torso as Castle: Fantasy Era Maid(en) torso & used a few terms from that sesrch but no dice. I t ought maybe peasants' shirts or tunics....& they dont show in "Fantasy Era" under "Parts".

As always, let's make this a fun game for me. Subtle hints only please. No direct search terms.

This minifigure does something that I'm sure you are familiar with, but a lot of Bricksetters might say, "Really? You can do that?"

Let's just say this figure needs the cold to be able to do what he does, he doesn't need Christmas ;-)
