Great job @Si_Dorking_Surrey_UK. Where did the extra plates have to go? And when you 'integrated', do you mean that all the wall sections are joined together with pins, or just standing next to each other?
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
the extra plates are for the front middle section as youre looking at it. everything is joined by pins.

I want a Kings Castle and Joust too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Si_Dorking, great job my friend. I liked the mood you have set with the lighting.

Any chance to find the Kings Castle now?
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
    amazon has them
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Went to a Lego Store today and all their Kingdom stuff was gone save for Joust and MMV. Just last week they had most everything else save the castle.
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
Cant wait to try this, fortunately the only set i need is Joust!
  • Blue1dotBlue1dot Member Posts: 78
Very nice looking, thanks for providing an example of the sets combined.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Here's another way of combining the two, no MODing required. It took a while to set it up because I really wanted the draw bridge to be the front then the big two towers to be the back, but not all the pieces connect to each other (The torches on some of the corner sections get in the way)

I also have a build video up if anyones interested. :)

Finally, I gotta say to anyone who has the opportunity to get the King's Castle and is deciding whether or not you should, definitely do it. Although I think the castle itself is kind of plain and not as exciting as the King's Castle Siege, it does go great with the joust, and the price on it is already going up. I managed to get 2 at Barnes and Noble with only 10% off. (and I never buy doubles )
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
@yys4u If you know of a place to get the King's Castle???
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@Si & @yys4u both of your setups look amazing. I broke down and caught a King's Castle at small markup so I didn't miss out. Combined with Joust, MMV, MVR and Outpost Attack should make a nice layout.

@gmpirate Well I'm in the US, southern california area. I checked target, walmart, online and nothing. Checked a couple stores. Checked all the TRU in like a 150 miles, found one for in store pick up, but when I ordered it they canceled it a day later (turns out they were out of stock too....) and finally called a couple barnes and nobles that had it. I put one on hold and when I came to get it the next day I figured I'd get the other one they had too. So they're really hard to find now. So I'm gonna say just start calling all your Barnes and nobles since that's the only place I found success.

Oh ya, I checked TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and borders too.
  • canuhandle23canuhandle23 Member Posts: 104
To be honest this just like prince of persia will be in marshalls.. tj maxx, and ross for over a year.

Every one of those stores stay stock with this theme, atlantis, and POP
  • CoolsplashCoolsplash Member Posts: 935
@yys4u, good job! I am sold for Kings Castle but I also agree with what you said about Kings Castle Seige as that is a exciting set but cannot have that one anymore. Going to wait for Kings Castle to show up locally then would grab it :)
  • MinifigsMeMinifigsMe Member Posts: 2,844
Love the set up of them together. Of course they need some opponents, sadly the dragon knight sets are a bit small. Good job I have Vladek's dar fortress. Think that can be combined with the dragon sets to make a decent castle. Just wish I'd bought some dragon knight battle packs (hint hint, if anyone sees any at a reasonable price!)
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
@yys4u I'm in Orange County. Think you're in San Diego, right? Going down there this weekend with kids and visiting Legoland and staying on the island. Looking forward to hitting Burger Lounge :P

Been in a few B&N's but never seen the castle. In any case, I would just buy one online if it were just for myself -- was more interested in selling them.
  • MinifigsMeMinifigsMe Member Posts: 2,844
for anyone who's near an (open) legoland - do they not have any kingdoms for sale in teh shops near the castle area of the park? when I went to windsor they had a shop pretty much dedicated. Wonder what they'll put there for the next few months (and wonder if windsor will have any left when they open...)
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,940
@Si_Dorking_Surrey_UK That looks fab! The ultimate castle for only £200! (ish). I also like the leprechaun hanging around in the barn at the back :D

Thanks @andhe. Yes, thats a Leprechaun, he was captured by the villagers and theyre torturing him until he tells them where the pot of gold is.

I think it works out about £350 by the time you add MVR, MMV, and Kings Carriage, which Ive now added. I love days off!

    Really like yys4u's version too

    Nice one Si.
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
I was thinking that too, also maybe London escape, but I think I might be getting my periods in history mixed up. Where's prof when you need him!?
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
By a few centuries...lol, but the POTC stuff makes for good castle mocing for sure
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
@Savage_Steel Not sure where you are but mine had tons of Kingdom stuff -- save the main castle.
  • johnsbricksjohnsbricks Member Posts: 210
I guess the absence of kingdoms at toy fair means this is eol'd....
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
I found a good amount of the Kings Carriage Ambush and Blacksmith attack at my local store. They're all at full price though...just in case anyone needs those sets.
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
kings carriage is way overpriced at rrp.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
^True.. This was my second chance to get a spare set, but I can't bring myself to pay 40 bucks for it. 31 from amazon was already bad enough
  • aplbomr79aplbomr79 Member Posts: 159
All of my local TRU's, Targets, and Walmarts are cleaned out of Kingdoms. I screwed up a few months ago when Target had a big sale on some LEGO items and only picked up 1 of the King's Castle - they had 4 available at $75.

    OUCH!
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
I found 2 outpost attacks at kmart for full retail. Picked them up anyways. :)
  • MinifigsMeMinifigsMe Member Posts: 2,844
Thanks for that info @gmpirate. I'm in the UK, and no where near legoland Windsor. But thought it might be useful info for those that are, as the park opens again in the spring and may still have the kingdoms stuff knocking about, as they closed in the Autumn.
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
Do you know when they open? I live nearby. Must get in there on the first day, they might have some other interesting stuff too!
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
^They had tons left in December when we were in The Big Shop on their last open day before Christmas. Just a warning though, some of the sets in there sell for in excess of the rrp and I wouldn't expect them to find their way over to their 'discount' shop.

According to the website, LLW reopens Fri 16th March.
  • MinifigsMeMinifigsMe Member Posts: 2,844
They had battle packs for £8 in late sept when I went. They'd be well worth picking up if they have them.
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
I plan to go on opening day. Taking orders now :)
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
^ Any Kingdoms except Blacksmith, HP at reduced prices, Kingdoms battle packs.... :o)
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
kings carriage youre better off with amazon, but apart from that, OK.
  • johnsbricksjohnsbricks Member Posts: 210
has anyone used Kids Play Store.... apparently they have Kingdoms stuff there..... http://www.kidsplaystore.co.uk/escape-from-dragons-prison-6217-p.asp
  • luckyrussluckyruss Member Posts: 872
^ I googled a number of smaller and indepedent stores for Kingdoms a few weeks back - whilst I found quite a lot of stores with stuff supposedly in stock it typically transpired they hadn't updated their websites and had thus sold out long ago.

However, I have no experience of these guys.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
Very nice. To me though, it makes all the more case for buying 2 or 3 jousts, and skipping King's Castle altogether.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Just thought I'd let people know, that the Kingdoms Lion Knights battle packs were in stock at Legoland California a couple days ago. I had just bought one on ebay for 25 bucks so was kinda disappointed. But picked up a spare too. Will be going back tomorrow to maybe get one more since I'm headed up there. I'll report back if they're still in stock
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
@yys4u If you find any more they'd be fair trade for some of those olympic figs if they ever turn up.
  • vwong19vwong19 Member Posts: 1,191
The next time I'm at Legoland (in a week or 2) I can probably grab a few (if they are still there) for anyone who really wants them.
  • YellowcastleYellowcastle Administrator, Moderator Posts: 5,234
    Aren't they at LLW too?
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
@matthew I got you a pack, they still had a good amount left
  • Si_UKNZSi_UKNZ Member Posts: 4,179
^^ Yes, I picked up a bunch last time. Didnt seem to be restocking though.
  • wertyjjwertyjj Member Posts: 64
I think Kingdoms will be discontinued because I was just at TRU and there were no Kingdoms.

Was there an issue of quality with Knights' Kingdom? I asked because when I look at my Battle at the Pass (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8813-1) the plastic, particularly of the minifigures, seems vaguely translucent and low grade.
