My bargain bouquet arrived from Amazon today. Looking forward to building and finding a suitable vase for them.

My #40516 Everyone is Awesome is "in warehouse" but in the meantime I am thinking about hgow I want to arrange the minifigures as I am also not real impressed about the row placement they are in to start with. I think I'll build it as directed and then rearrange thge figures and then make the base work for my arrangement.

My EIA has shipped. I'm wondering about reordering the colours to better represent the flag and also staggering the minifigs as I'm not keen on the diagonal line of them.

My family move was completed two weeks ago tomorrow. I have been working on disassembling and sorting my displays parts (70% done). My Lego budget with the new Harry Potter sets, Everything is Awesome, the 3 in 1 Castle coming, Castle in the forest on bricklink and now that new Daily Bugle is going to be astronomical this year but about to get worse. My wife wants me to order the Friends Apartments before anything for myself (Argh!).

I have always had large displays eating up bricks but now that I don't my storage is bursting. I have had to change priorities to fixing my storage. My favorite parts storage is the sterilite 3 drawer wide units which I have 12 of but soon will have 36 as I have ordered them today. I have also had to order some much larger 3 drawer sterilite units to control the large amounts of all shades of grey and black plates exploding out of there containers.

Normally I order Lego before storage like an addict but I have hit a wall, sleep on bricks or organize them right!

I am also at the point where I count my Lego Star Wars as complete. Lego would have to do something spectacular to make me buy more star wars at this point. I finished it of by ordering a couple of the new x-wings and the 2 AT-AT's back in March. I have fleets for both sides and locations galour and everything to make me content there.

^ I was so excited about the Wildlife concepts but am left wanting after the final product.  I hope they turn out better in person than in the pictures.

My mum passed away last week and it's been a hectic few days arranging things, calling family and friends and looking after my dad. This was just what I needed to relax with.
^My condolences. We lost my Dad yesterday and I built this myself just now.
My condolences to your families. Praying for you both.

My status is, still sorting, lots of progress made yesterday.

We lost Dad a couple months ago (and his birthday would have been tomorrow) and my wife lost her Mom just 2 weeks after my Dad...so we're both down a parent and our toddler is down half his grandparents but is too young to understand.

...but building Lego has helped me cope and was a welcome distraction.  Caught up on a few modular buildings.  (I had been building them all in release order ever since we moved into the house pre-pandemic.  Only 3 left to go!)
    Praying for you too!

Thank you everyone.  My mum had a huge dolls house she'd made and decorated. She'd send photos of the latest additions to her display and I'd show her what I'd been building, she even got some scale LEGO set boxes made to add to the child's toys in her house.
    That sounds cool!

My condolences to each one of you, I am sorry to hear about all of your respective losses.
I finished up the majority of my small sorting session over the weekend, although I might decide to dismantle some of my MOCS and sets that have been sitting around for a while. Still no magic bolt of MOC inspiration, which is probably for the best: I have several IRL projects that I really should catch up on.

I got to spend a bit of time rebuilding the Black Seas Barracuda this weekend (the sails are currently in a press to try to get the wrinkles out of them) but otherwise the weekend was a bit LEGO deprived.

Just checked the official photos, your mod is much better than LEGO designed. Dragsters typically have quite fat rear tyres on small wheels
the height of the rubber from ground to the bottom of the wheel rim is quite tall. Lego tyres tend to be more suited to modern supercars with a low profile or small height of rubber.
Thanks for the reference photo, I fiddled a little more and am happy with the result:

Had to adjust the axle pin hole to ensure free movement of the rear wheel

@560Heliport Picked up a couple of those AT-AT's and 6 white base plates couple months ago. You won't be disappointed, great builds for any assault on echo base. I might actually need a few more plates still as they ATs take up a lot of room.

Those plates make fantastic roads.  Totally worth raising the modulars with regular plates instead of baseplates, for better connectivity.

@Mr_Hobbles Nice little town layout!  I especially like the lamp posts and flowers along the train track and the 'cobblestone' crosswalk treatment (if that's what you were going for).
On an unrelated note - nice kitchen!  One day I will install some backsplash tiles like that.  They look great.

Ps. Thanks, but I can’t take any credit for the kitchen decor, the apartment came like that!
I’ve taken a screenshot of your layout to use as evidence in convincing my wife that a kitchen island is a viable Lego display option… :-)

It's one of the few sets I keep assembled (along with these three modulars), I do enjoy looking at it. :)

Good luck with that. I only manage to convince mine as it's more often than not topped with one of her half-completed (but never finished) jigsaw puzzles...

Mr_Hobbles said:I agree, that’s exactly what I did! The modulars sit on a 3-deep bed of plates. The road plates have one layer of plates under them which brings them up to the height required to be in line with the top of the tram tracks, and one layer of plates below the sidewalks. I designed a little modular system that can be clipped together with 2x2 plates:
It's quite involved, but it makes the final setup really neat with how your sidewalks are raised above the street and with the train tracks fitting perfectly.  I've settled to a single layer of plates under the modulars so everything is flat, but I haven't fiddled with my train tracks yet...
