@pxchris of course you need #6273! You have everything else. (I am completely unwilling to part with my #6273, sorry!) I have almost every Pirate set from 1989 to
1995, not much after that. I haven't set them all up in 25 years, but #6285 and #6286 are on display in my living room.

I'm excited to see how things progress for you! Pirate layouts at conventions have always been among my favorite. I tend to spend a ton of time just standing and looking over all the tiny details, how the scenes are unfolding, and looking for any fun little easter eggs that the designer may have included. This would certainly be one of those displays for me!
Thank you! That is certainly my intent. Of course there are so many unknowns at this point, but the hope is that we'll be able to have a full in-person Bricks Cascade next spring and perhaps even something smaller later this year.
I'm also making the assumption that I'll be able to get permission for 6 feet of table space.

I agree that I need to get it @560Heliport! It's really just a matter of price right now.

I'd love to eventually add all of the Islander sets as well, but until things settle down a bit in the collectors market, I'm not sure that's going to be affordable for me. There are just a couple other sets in the post-Bluecoat (1992-95) era that I'd like to eventually add, but otherwise I'm pretty much a Bluecoat diehard.

I am starting on a much-needed sorting session today. I have about 15 pounds of MOC leftovers/carcasses and 5 pounds of purchased bulk bricks that need to be divvied up into their respective boxes, drawers, and buckets. Hopefully by the end of it I will have some inspiration for an MOC; other than a quick Minecraft build I made in preparation for the upcoming update, I have not built anything lately. To build a good MOC I need time, energy, and inspiration, but over the last several months I have generally only had one of the three at a time.

Status?  ... anticipating? That sounds sort of wimpy ... maybe VERY anticipatory? I have tried to make time pass these last few days by getting my small spaces ready. I have a work space and it cleaned up and cleared off mostly. I have put a tv tray table at my left of that space so I have somewhere to put the base of the build as I go as the height, (32") of the thing intimidates my space. Checking online says #76178 Daily Bugle is "out for delivery" by FedEx. It will probably not get here until early evening <sigh>.

    My status is:

    1) Admiring Diagon Alley now that I've finally finished it and put in on one of the floating shelves to the right of my home office desk. I'm really glad I set up the floating shelves the way I did! I have them staggered a little to allow for some taller sets. The middle one is a solid 45" or more. The top and bottom ones are a foot or so shorter. Diagon Alley would not have fit on any shelf but the longer middle. I almost didn't do a longer middle shelf!

    2) Second guessing whether I should have gone to the Lego store this morning to join in the AFOL Shopping Day. But then I remember what everybody's said about the limitations in the US, and I'm happy I didn't waste my time.

    3) Looking over the other sets currently displayed on my floating shelves, trying to figure out what I need to take apart next, so I have room for something else to build. I have a long weekend, so it's a good time for a project or two.

I went back to the local Bricks and Minifigs store today.  To my surprise, the bulk bins had the exact part I needed to finish a MOC that I've been slowly working on for several years.  The bulk was 15% off for Memorial Day weekend and I had time, so I started going through it ... after I got about $120 worth of bulk into a couple of bags one of the employees asked to take my picture to put it on their planned wall-of-people-who-buy-a-lot-of-bulk. ... No thanks.  Hmm, maybe I don't want to drop three figures on an impulse purchase today.  I ended up buying just the one part and a minifigure.

An older couple was also going through the bulk bins, selecting only brightly colored 2x4 and longer 2xX bricks.  They asked me what I was going to do with all the parts I was getting.  Umm, build stuff?  They said that what they do with Lego is put bricks in a bag as a chew toy for their dogs. Hmm ... !!! ... does not compute ... !!! ... who does that? 😳

Hope it arrives as quick as possible! My Daily Bugle is underway in the Czech Republic right now, with a little luck will arrive in Germany on Monday, and with even more luck will be delivered to me in Switzerland on Tuesday. Although Wednesday is realistic as well.
But considering I had a real binge last week I wouldn't get around to opening it for a while anyway!
#76178 Daily Bugle arrived about 3pm this afternoon ... bags numbered 1 to 16 most of which have at least two bags per number and some with 3 or 4. Bag One gives us the basic floorplan:

Bag Two fills in a lot of the ground floor:
and from these two bags we get three of the 25 minifigures, Aunt May in Bag One and Ron Barney and Gwen Stacy in Bag Two:
I am trying to stretch this out so finish the build will take a while. I love the pages 4&5 that show all the minifigures and name them with a little but of info and I guess I should be glad the decorated tiles are not ALL stickers

It's past midnight in NZ and I'm endlessly refreshing the NZ Lego shop page waiting for 40516 to come on sale. Luckily it's only just past 8pm where I am.

Just pushed the button on the largest ever set #31203 along with #40516 from LEGO.com
I tried my local LEGO shop at Marion and again they have let me down, I was logged on at midnight to place the order and it had already sold out. They've just missed out on both purchases along with any stray pick ups or pick a brick wall shopping that inevitably happens when I go to collect an order.
Hopefully the delivery will get here sooner than the weekend which is when I would have gone to collect and it will be a win/win.

Funny @SumoLego, I've just removed all the road plates from my city and replaced them with the new modular road system. Actually I guess it's more of a town or village than a city because I only had 20 road plates. What I like most about it is that everything is now locked together without using technic pins but individual houses are easily removed. The sidewalks are all elevated (1 plate plus 1 tile high) and Lt. Bl grey so provide a good contrast with the roads.

From the meditations of Randal Graves: According to that show [the Jetsons] we were suppose to be tooling around in flying cars by now. You see any flying cars lately?

I think that applies here, except that we need roadplates.  All of the roadplates.

Had a productive Lego day. Local store had some of the new Harry Potter sets so I grabbed Hogsmeade Village and Polyjuice Potion Mistake as well as 5 Looney Tunes bags. Got 3 of my must haves that being Wile E, Road Runner and Bugs. Just need to find Daffy, Sylvester and Speedy.
My Space Shuttle also shipped and R2 came up as available as a backorder.
All in all I'm pretty happy with that. Just have to wait for the local store to get in the other June 1st sets I'm after.

ordered some JW-dino's for my son via BL, only to find out that the Stygimoloch was missing it's 4 "spikes".

So the wife ordered my to get those ASAP, and maybe look for some more dino's. Ended up with ordering the 4 spikes plus 2 extra's, a Triceratops, a second variant of the Dilophosaurus and about €120-worth of brick from my Wanted Lists. That'll teach her. ;)

Managed to get all of my Pirates sets cleaned up and got the foundations of my layout all back in place. Did a hydrogen peroxide treatment on some faded/yellowed blue baseplates and I'm very happy with the results.  Also did the same for a few white pieces that had seen better days, especially some of the printed panel pieces. I'm extremely pleased with how those came out.

Have to say though, after all of the fiddling around... the layout is seeming to look very much the same as it goes back together. I did try rearranging the sets and baseplates in a variety of ways... but I just kept on coming back to how I had it before... so that's the way it's going to be for now. I did get blue poster board underneath the baseplates though which looks nice. I've also been looking for a nice backdrop to go behind the layout but have been having no luck finding one that I think would look right. I'm wanting some sort of an ocean & clouds type backdrop I'm thinking. Something that is somewhat cartoon-y I think might look good, but I haven't seen any online that really hit the spot. Anyone have any backdrop pointers?

I spent the weekend going through my latest bulk haul from Savers. Found all the minifigures from #75093, #75103, #10263, and #6864, and a bunch of CITY figures that I have not sorted through yet. Found the cows from #7637 and it looks like the rest of that set may be there, along with #70006

From what I can find out that Ninjago BrickHeadz set is an in-store only GWP with a specified amount of Ninjago purchase which #71741 City Gardens would certainly fill.

It currently costs $10 in store if you spend $85 on Ninjago products.  The LAN also announced that excess stock will be sold in July (without any purchase) for $29.99 — in store only as well I believe.

Yes I got lucky that one of the LEGO Stores by me had the Gardens in stock. It's the only one of the two Ninjago sets I wanted that was over $85. I collect Brickheadz and with my luck they wouldn't last. I also got lucky and got bonus points for the damaged box.

Hello, my name is @SumoLego and I can now announce I am a roadplate hoarder.

Just traded a Petshop for 50 roadplates.  And I really don't care if it was a good deal.

Side note, I don't like the new modular road system.
I like everything about this post.  Are we forming Roadplates Anonymous?

Hello, my name is Patrick and I like road plates.  I refuse to buy the overpriced new road system and think it is a flawed and terrible system compared to the roads and baseplates that have been used by Lego for FIFTY years.

Did anyone else preorder any of the sets that were listed during the double points period back in April but due to be released on the 1st of June?
I got an email to say my #76388 Hogsmeade has been shipped but the VIP points listed aren't doubled. I can't find anything to say that the offer doesn't apply on preorders.  Maybe I'm missing something or am I just being a bit greedy?

    Just built #76904 Speed Champions.
The dragster really needed bigger back wheels.
I also built #76901, and had a strange piece of plastic left over:

Rears need to be a little wider and taller with more sidewall and the narrow body down to the nose is too chunky. Not much they can do really.

I have to admit I know absolutely nothing about racing, I'm not even sure I understand what you are explaining (and I know you know what you are talking about as a racing fan), but the picture is a mod with bigger tires - the set comes with the tire on the left below, which I think is just to small. But again, what do I know about racing

Just checked the official photos, your mod is much better than LEGO designed. Dragsters typically have quite fat rear tyres on small wheels

the height of the rubber from ground to the bottom of the wheel rim is quite tall. Lego tyres tend to be more suited to modern supercars with a low profile or small height of rubber.
