    Yep, same thing happened to me, although I had completed the build and was just trying to relocate the model to a different room. I was still discovering missing pieces from that disaster over a year later...

    Almost made you wanna cry, didn't it?

    Only one I dropped was building my UCS AT-ST, thankfully it was only about two feet and only about twenty minutes of "repair" work Not including the 10 minutes of swearing and crying.

    My most disappointing build was the 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter. My own fault, I guess, as I'd just built the 9493 X-wing Starfighter and it was a very similar build.

    (and, of course, don't forget the stickers on that pair - sheesh!)

    I think for me it was just sudden silence (or so the family members in the house at the time tell me). It was *SMASH* and....dead quiet.

    And usually when that happens, it's not very pretty. ;-)

    I thought I´d make a reference to this thread here, because it´s about what order to build modulars in with respect to disappointment in the build.

    I find the builds when you are constructing on a baseplate quite dull usually, I prefer making vehicles personally as they tend to be more interesting shapes.

    Did anyone else find the finished build of the ARC-170 from set 8088 to just be terrible in general? The wing sags and the lower s-foils droop while in locked position.

    I don't think that I've had very many disappointing builds, the worst has been the legs of the (semi)new AT-TE and the AT-OT. Those legs were not fun, but the completed build, especially of the AT-TE, is quite worth it. I don't particularly like large Technic constructed bits, so didn't like build of the pick-up mechanism of the Republic Dropship either. Also, the builds of the newer SW BPs aren't that great, but who cares, I buy those for the figs anyway. :P

    On the subject of breaking your sets by accident, back when I got my 4504 for Christmas when I was like 10, I broke it in half trying to fly it from both edges and dropped it down the stairs. I don't recall being mad, more just sad that it broke.

    @lulwut, I actually liked the ARC-170, but I

    In regard to breaking sets by accident, I think that my 4504 is prone to accidents. Shortly after I got it, 9 or 10 year old me was trying to fly it around the house... by the edges... and I broke it in half and dropped it down the stairs. And then later, I had it on the floor in the living room for some reason, and my mom accidently kicked it.

    Falling waters was kind of disappointing seeing the end product. They really should have made the house a different color than the surrounding landscape. Actually as I sit here looking at it it makes me angry because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell it just doesn't look right. I plan on changing it myself.

    Yes - really disappointed with the end result as well as the build. Gaps around the cockpits, had massive issues with bubbling with the cockpit stickers, nose cone stickers not reversed, loose rear guns... not to mention inconsistincies between the instructions for the wing mechanisms and the official pictures of them.

    However, my biggest issue overall was as you mentioned. I added an extra Technic pin to the wing mechanism that I looped the band around. It keeps the lower s-foils flush (but the wings still sag). I hated doing it - I'm a build purist at heart - but I couldn't stand looking at them.

    The Marina from last years Harbor set's was very dull to build. 1st it is waaaay over priced and 2nd just too quick to build.

    When I buy a $50 set I want it to take about an hour to build and not 20mins as it took me. Whoever designed that set was just lazy.

    @llanowarsoldier,
    You paid $50 for 4644 Marina when people on Bricklink are selling it for 1/2 that? $50 for 294 piece set? Should've paid $30 or less for it.

    Wow fifty bucks for that, I'd be disappointed to.

    The castle from Knights' Kingdom I, 6098 was disappointing. Looks great on the box but when you look at it good a bad Castle. See me review there.

    Just built Maersk Train and it is now at the top of the list for irritating builds. Worst. Stickers. EVAR! Stickers that go across many bricks? Really? I don't know whether to take this sucker apart and banish it into the bucket (the blue IS pretty!) or get rid of it cheap on Craigslist as I won't be building it again. I love ALL kinds of builds, all sizes and themes and I was so looking forward to this one. Even with the stickers aside, it was meh. Dangit!

    *dramatic swoon* Helms Deep better get here quick. Hehe.

    ^ ...and it's fragile too! I keep seeing missing parts & blaming my kids, but every time I pick it up, something seems to fall off.

    I was a little disappointed with the GE build. It's just so repetitive. The top two floors are basically identical and the brickwork on the ground floor was boring. However the finished model is gorgeous.

    @KulshanGirl, if you want to get rid of it cheap I will be happy to pay a cheap price for it! :)

    Today's Sun Destroyer (pun, haha) left me distinctly underwhelmed. Only a very superficial similarity with the movie ship.

    ^ I must admit, I'm wondering where the bottom half of the Star Destroyer is.
