Monkie Kid is not a Lego exclusive anymore and my local store has them. Looks like I'm putting in a Monkie Kid order with them.

I can imagine the conversation between Mrs. and Little Miss Speedy: "What should we get Dad for his birthday?... Just kidding! LEGO, obviously!" "Whew! You had me worried for a bit there, kiddo!"

Thanks every one, popped over to see my parents for a socially distanced present pickup and got the SC 911, one of the DK books and a remote for my Powered Up train. Cheeky Deliveroo Nandos and a bottle of red round off a pretty good lockdown birthday.

I'll wait for the other beat box minifigs to go on sale. Pretty cool line up - goes well with synthwave rofl.

Decided not to wait for the Amelia Earhart GWP and just ordered the Creator Porsche.

Ordered #60266's shark. The poor fellow is a "pre-pack", so I guess I'd've needed to buy him from LEGO over the phone.. I guess a good question is...How do we know what is and isn't a "pre-pack"? They made it sound like something that's two pieces is, but is that always the case?

Getting peeved with my various BL and other LEGO orders. Got nine orders from various places. One from Italy turned up perfectly within a week, one from about 30 miles up the road took three weeks including a nudge to the seller after ten days that I hadn't heard anything.
Of the seven BL orders, six have arrived or are on route, two that have arrived have missing pieces in (sellers sorting and sending the parts on) Which leaves one that hasn't even processed the order and the day after I placed it altered their splash page to say the next day they would be posting orders is now tomorrow. I appreciate sellers can't be visiting the PO every day to ship orders, but to change your mind after an order has been placed to add an extra weeks lead time is a bit cheeky.
In the general scheme of things its no real biggy though as I have plenty of other sets to build.
  • Speedman29Speedman29 UKMember Posts: 1,958
The BL saga continues! I have placed a fair few orders over the last couple of years with almost no issues. Seven orders and missing pieces with three of them. The latest one has seemingly just decided not to send a piece, it showed two in their store when I ordered and still shows one now, but they only sent the one and just crossed out the line on the print out. No communication or refund. Also I'm happy to buy used parts, might be a bit discoloured or marked, the white parts look like they've been sat in the bottom of a rubbish bin for a while, caked in dust and yellow grime. They are currently soaking in a warm weak bleach solution, so fingers crossed they come out looking a little better. Definitely a seller to put on my least liked list!

Still waiting on a response for an order I made in BrickLink and the Shop page is not working so might not get the GWP.

I think my recent [email protected] order has been lost/stolen by the courier company. It was supposed to be delivered last week but I contacted the courier company and they have no idea where it is. So if I don't get it by next week I'll have a word to Lego and hopefully they will send another one out.
    I'm annoyed but not angry.

I decided to finally secure a #75294 Bespin Duel and a #77904 Nebulon-B before they become too scarce on Bricklink.  I paid more than I needed to for the convenience of one seller offering both sets, but also glad to help out a regional BL seller and contribute to 'velocity of money.'
...as in money for LEGO leaving my wallet at high velocity.

@Legopants For one of the most iconic sports cars of the 20th Century?  I think that calls for a second copy - just for safety! =oD
The 911 looks amazing...TLG hit this one out of the park.  Same for the Blacksmith Shop...all so tempting.

The roof just looks a bit wonky to me.  This will not stop me from buying three copies of the set.

I won't be buying multiples, but the 911 is definitely on my list to get this year sometime. But I do need to plan on the Batwing as well, and I'm planning on picking up the Winnie the Pooh set on release day. I'm hoping there aren't any other $100+ sets coming out in the next 6 or so months that I'm going to really want.

Bad news: the centaur I bought on Ebay is lost in the post. Good news: the seller was very swift in arranging a refund, and my [email protected] order has arrived!

The like wasn't for the demise of your minifig, just the comment itself as it made me smile.

    What a beautiful set!
Why are collections like this so appealing to me?
Whether it's a finite group of parts all in the same colour, or cars like this, or the creator expert ones, or a full collection of X-wings or whatever, it's just a real pleasure (and a rare treat) to see a complete collection of something and the enthusiasm behind it! Bravo.

My order came after I inquired about it. It was sitting in a warehouse for a week. Plus the vending machine side build in Monkie Kid #80020 White Dragon Horse Jet is brilliant. From the display on the front to how it works. Brilliant.

Thank you @Mr_Cross I can't take credit for the designs, they belong to a rebrickable seller called RoscoPC, who designs huge 1:8th scale F1 cars and moved to Minifig scale. They suit my budget and display space perfectly. Next is a quartet of late 70s cars

I'd buy Expert versions of those (plus Maxi, Maestro, Princess, Imp and Chevette) in a heartbeat.  Plus a Vauxhall Viva.

    Hearing aid beige. LOL!
British car manufacturers had a habit of finding the dullest of colours sometimes, NHS hearing aids were always a very flat light tan/beige colour and British Leyland stole the colour directly for its 60/70s cars, but they'd give it classy names like Eggnog, Cashmere, Prairie Wind or Laguna, but they'd all be different beiges!

Back on topic, built the SC 911 last night. I really like the minifigure, might need the torso for my sigfig
