After 9+ years on display I decided it was time to dismantle #21010 Robie House.
Thinking about quality issues of reddish brown & dark red that started around the time of its release I was a little worried about how many pieces might/would be affected.
(my dusting habits could certainly be improved)
I started by taking it apart in big chunks and soaking them in warm soapy water for a while, and then proceeded to take it apart piece by piece. Took about five hours in total. I forgot how many 1x2 plates there are, as well 1x1 grey tiles...
After drying and sorting I was left with 3 1x2 plates, 2 1x1 plates, and 1 1x1 brick that had tiny slivers break off, a lot less worse than I had expected. Replacements for all the parts from my spares. Of course, additional parts might suffer in the future if and when I build it again.
All in all I can live with this, and knowing LEGO will replace all of the parts if I ever get around to contacting them helps to rectify the issue.

So Lego will definitely replace these brown and red parts if they are available?

Perhaps his avatar is going blond for the occasion? 🙂
I’d be keen to see how everyone’s avatar pics might be changing in current circumstances. I need a combo of ‘nearly’ caveman hair and beard but with beard mostly in grey!

They should if they have them available.  I recently got a replacement for a cracked 1x1 clip piece that broke from the Changing Seasons 3 in 1.  I have to contact them to get a couple of replacement 1x2 grill pieces in dark red that cracked as I was building the Quidditch shop from the new Diagon Alley.  I was waiting until I  finished the set in case I  had any other issues.

    Nobody wants an @SumoLegoBane.

It'll just be an endless (and endlessly) bad Tom Hardy impression.

Is there a purple armor piece out there?  I may consider a costume change.

My lego status is currently "very confused". Starting a couple of days ago, I have been inexplicably gaining 2-3 followers a day on Lego Ideas, even though I haven't been active on the site in months and have no current project submissions. Anyone know why?
I was going to go follow you to help figure out this mystery (and because it’s slightly humorous), but searching veyniac on Lego Ideas turns up nothing.

@Astrobricks yeah, the Ideas search system doesn't work for usernames, which is really annoying. My profile can be found at https://ideas.lego.com/profile/Veyniac/entries?query=&sort=top
I think that there could be two reasons for the sudden uptick in followers (which seems to have stopped now). 1. It has something to do with the recent redesign of the site. Perhaps they redid the search algorithm or something? 2. Someone mentioned my username on social media somewhere.

Currently searching for the Porsche VIP gift in my order box.
Any chance the GWP was shipped separately? That’s what happened for the last one I got.
No they have messed up as usual.

With the amount of bonus points they are giving out, you'd have thought it would just be cheaper to make more really.

Today I became the owner of this beautiful Bellville horse. I now own two Bellville sets (if you can call this a set). Well two plus a naked Bellville child figure. Unfortunately this isn't in the brickset database so I can't tell how many other owners there are out there.

Impatiently waiting for Monday for #80020 White Dragon Horse Jet. #71748 had been at the top of my March want list... until #80020 was revealed. Now that's Number One. #71748 will have to wait. But then I was in Target this afternoon, and they have #71748 on the shelf! So I had to argue with myself... "I could get both..." "No you can't!" "But if..." "No! You can get #71748 later!" "Awww..." I will avoid Target to reduce the temptation. Besides, if I don't buy any nonessentials this weekend, I could get both at the Lego store and get VIP points. (Although, if past behavior indicates anything, I often consider Lego essential!)

You're both welcome to buy ME LEGO.  ;) I mean, none of us here would complain if you wanted to buy it for us.

LEGO status: Being away from the bulk of my collection is hard, digital building just isn't the same, and after today, I want 66858 in blue, 17485 in light nougat, fortunately, the new Mario arms(like Yoshi) are in white, and...if you can't guess what I'm thinking of, go watch Toy Story.. Oh, and, I wish the Great White from #60266 was available on B&P. I need him, and I wish he could wear a hat.

Lately I've been building from my small stash of loose parts, mostly from childhood and from my brother, rather than buying.  This week I put together a pretty decent impression of a Blacktron Invader, a nearly complete 462 Rocket Transport with just enough tweaks to fix the problems in the actual set, without it being the actual set (as you can tell by Jango Fett at the wheel), and a slightly improved version of the oldest makeshift X-wing I can remember building when I was six or seven.  When will the 75301 X-wing come back in stock on Lego.com?  I'm getting X-wing withdrawal!

We're just starting on the "nearly teenager (10½ going on 25!) not sure if we want to play with LEGO, rather be whatsapping with our friends whilst playing on the laptop" stage.
The stickers I ordered from an Italian Rebrickable member for his 1970s F1 cars I'm building arrived. Ordered four sets, two for cars to complete his 70s collection and two because I'm gathering parts for a birthday present later in the year for someone. He added in four more sets for the late 70s/early 80s collection for free because postage from Italy was silly money for an A4 stiff envelope. So thats my end of the year projects started as well!

A misty Sunday morning. Perfectly right for building a really great little set, the #21165 Beekeeper. Eight very cute bees and a couple of unique minifigs make it a very handsome set, with a nice price tag as well.

Status: Frantic... I've lost my bag of 1x1 tiles... Can't find it anywhere... I had hundreds in it, my whole stash, and it has disappeared. I've no idea where it has gone and I'm really, *really* hoping that it didn't get thrown out by mistake somehow, when I emptied my study bin on Thursday night.
I'm nearly certain that it couldn't have been, but I've got that nagging worry, as I've gone through the whole office and all my storage and can't find the blasted thing! I just hope it turns up soon, otherwise I'm going to lose it!

I finally got the time today to finish making the instructions for my latest MOC: a small Minecraft Crimson Forest model, nothing too special. I will probably release it on Rebrickable sometime tomorrow, for those interested.

I'm still gathering the parts for your End Portal and End City MOCs, slowly, having built your Warped Forest and Ruined Portal ones. Keep up the good work!
