Merry Christmas all!
It's been a weird one for me, have ended up spending it home alone at the last minute and only had a couple of gifts to open (no rattly ones *sad face*)
Hope you all have a fantastic time whatever you do and however you celebrate (or don't).
Looks to be an impressive set!
My status today: I have to re-organize my storage closet to fit the huge boxes for Diagon Alley and Assembly Square which my wife gave me for Christmas!! She’s amazing! If I weren’t 11 bags into the UCS MF, I would just say I have to build AS immediately! 😂
To all all those with no rattly boxes yet or not on the day today - may they (and family) find you again as soon as possible.
(Recalled due to the dog biscuit recipe - for those that don't know)
I hope everyone had a great Christmas full of Lego joy. Well, we're stuck in Switzerland. We've not been able to see family for 1.5 yrs yet since summer was cancelled and now winter travel is virtually impossible! Waiting for the restrictions to lift to visit family again.
On a positive note, it means we are really spending quality time together with the kids. Amd plenty of time for Lego and I got lots of Lego this year for me. Loving my Christmas haul since I managed to get the Mario second wave early. Been looking forward to building Diagon alley and I was not disappointed! Loved the build. Looks great and rather large!
Kids bought me Baby Yoda since we really enjoy the Madalorian together. My son is massively into Star wars at the moment, particularly the Clone wars (not sure why that has resonated with him over the rest). He's making stop-motion now with his Lego Star Wars. Love watching him with the Lego and his imagination.
Happy building everyone!
I just finished building one of the small Frozen sets with my nieces and I'm proud to say they really love it. The minifigs are their favorite along with just random building. They put together some really cool stuff with just the one set. Now I need to get storage and I think that bricks bricks plates Classic set.
BUT, because she loves me and knows that I'd always like more LEGO, she gifted me instructions to a few MOCs I've been eyeing for my Winter Village and a green light to purchase the bricks (as she knows I love my Excel spreadsheets too). Thrilled to be on the hunt for parts again!
So, the next item on my Lego status for today is breaking down the SW and HP advent calendars and then deciding whether I want to start building Assembly Square or to break down some SW ships. There's room for AS in the display/book case that has my modulars, so that's the more fun option. But... I have a huge backlog of HP sets, and the SW sets are taking up a lot of shelf space that I could use for the HP stuff. I think I know what's going to win out, because it's what always wins out: build the set that I already have space for before I deal with disassembly. I hate disassembling sets!
I’d like to see a pic of the Falcon on that stand... I’ve been mulling over how I want to display mine...
https://www.idisplayit.co.uk/us/stands/2in1-display-stand-for-75192-ucs-millennium-falcon-mk2/
Unfortunately for these photos, the room it’s in has a blue-gray wall, so the Falcon doesn’t pop like it would with a different backdrop.
The stand feels pretty solid though. I do trust it to hold the Falcon for a long time. I don’t trust myself to move it much though! I’m not sure how to rotate the first photo. It shows correctly in my photos, but gets sideways as soon as I attach it here.
My status today is “very pleased”... I was finally able to track down the 2017 Employee Christmas gift (from a former local store employee )...
I was surprised by the size of the box, and though it arrived a bit late for this year I’ll definitely put it at the front of the queue for next Christmas...
That's crazy talk, you've got to go celebrate breaking the 500k piece mark! :D
...glad it arrived as I had completely forgotten about it!
Lego also make a Red version of the Play and display box so I've ordered that to make a Lava version of Super Mario.
I've noticed Afol facebook groups have loads of new loud, whiney, self entitled, impossible to please moaning pain in the arses that take over those who arent which hasnt helped. Dont get wrong, there has always been a small element of that in the community but it seems to have gone nuts recently. Thankfully that doesnt seem to be an issue here, its nice nothing much changes :) Roll on 2021!
