    Merry Christmas to everyone!!

    My status today: I have to re-organize my storage closet to fit the huge boxes for Diagon Alley and Assembly Square which my wife gave me for Christmas!! She’s amazing! If I weren’t 11 bags into the UCS MF, I would just say I have to build AS immediately! 😂

    @The_Rancor I ummed and ahhed over the Powerpuff Girls for so long they were retired by the time I decided I HAD to have them. Now I have them !! Yay !!

    Finally broke the seals on the Creator Carousel. I was thinking of selling it but I thought I wanted to build it when I bought it 3 years ago what changed? Need to finish it and then move onto the Death Star. Get the 2017 purchases finally out of the way.
    Still slightly annoyed at Lego. I did send them an email and they replied saying it would ship on the 1st of Jan. Not holding them to that date but it's something. Hopefully ships with the new modular and Star Wars sets when I order them. The thing is if they told me a couple of weeks ago it would ship in 2021 in some automated email I would have been OK with it. It's the non communication that gets me.

    My inlaws know me well too. Chocolate, single malt whisky and a motorsport DVD. Last year it was a bottle of Whisky and an AT-ST set!

    These Christmas hauls look amazing!  The combination of sets that people ended up getting are really interesting.

    I just finished building one of the small Frozen sets with my nieces and I'm proud to say they really love it.  The minifigs are their favorite along with just random building.  They put together some really cool stuff with just the one set.  Now I need to get storage and I think that bricks bricks plates Classic set.

    Awww, I love these Christmas hauls!  My husband refuses to buy me Lego (aside from the odd mini fig) so I'm quite jealous.  But I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing everyone else's!

    I didn't need a huge haul; even though it was 30 years late and in a modified form, finally getting that Black Seas Barracuda was enough for me. :)

    I'm pretty lucky that Mrs Speedy is happy to buy me LEGO for Christmas. I'm even more lucky that she uses my BS wanted list to buy from, through her own [email protected] account so she gets VIP points for extra treats and GWP. She just remembered that she got a Charles Dickens GWP when she got the WV set for me and stashed it away as I already have it. Its now mine to keep or trade.
    In return her Crochet habit has been fueled with another large project kit that will keep her busy for a few months.

    I have been pretty aggressive in buying items on my want list the last few months after some extra projects yielded some LEGO cash. Because of that, my wanted list to my wife actually didn't include a single LEGO set this year. 

    BUT, because she loves me and knows that I'd always like more LEGO, she gifted me instructions to a few MOCs I've been eyeing for my Winter Village and a green light to purchase the bricks (as she knows I love my Excel spreadsheets too). Thrilled to be on the hunt for parts again!

    I have completed the UCS Millennium Falcon! I have also assembled the acrylic stand from iDisplayIt. Now I just need someone to help me get the MF onto the stand. It's theoretically possible to do by myself, but considering I have already knocked some greebling off the Falcon while just trying to attach some of the top sections, that seems like a bad idea. My wife has offered to help, but she's off doing her own hobby right now.

    So, the next item on my Lego status for today is breaking down the SW and HP advent calendars and then deciding whether I want to start building Assembly Square or to break down some SW ships. There's room for AS in the display/book case that has my modulars, so that's the more fun option. But... I have a huge backlog of HP sets, and the SW sets are taking up a lot of shelf space that I could use for the HP stuff. I think I know what's going to win out, because it's what always wins out: build the set that I already have space for before I deal with disassembly. I hate disassembling sets!

    @KungFuKenny I will certainly take and post some pictures (probably tomorrow), but I suspect the iDisplayIt website has better ones that what I will take. I got their “mk 2” version of the stand. It doesn’t require removal of the landing gear and allows two different angles (one pretty vertical and the other flatter). This will probably not be my final display method. I do eventually plan to get a coffee table, but that could be a while.

    Oh, I should also note that there is a US distributor of iDisplayIt stands and cases: Kingdom Brick Supply. The price is very close and you should save a bunch of shipping since they’ve already made it across the Atlantic.

    Ok, my wife helped me get it onto the stand. It can theoretically be done solo, but the odds of success seem awfully low. The greebling is just so darn delicate!!

    Unfortunately for these photos, the room it’s in has a blue-gray wall, so the Falcon doesn’t pop like it would with a different backdrop.

    The stand feels pretty solid though. I do trust it to hold the Falcon for a long time. I don’t trust myself to move it much though! I’m not sure how to rotate the first photo. It shows correctly in my photos, but gets sideways as soon as I attach it here.

    @SirBrickalotOfLego I just got #75953 Hogwarts Whomping Willow ($55.99 at Target and I had a $50 gift card) and #66642 DOTS Ultimate Designer Kit ($9 at Walmart) so now I'm at 500,213 pieces. I guess I don't need to go to the Lego store Friday morning! ;)

    My status today and all week is "building" I really enjoy a couple of week break from work over Christmas.  My usual build time is maybe an hour of an evening when I can get to the kitchen table,  in-between dinner and tidying up and an early bedtime for an early start for work. Yesterday I didn't leave the house and was either reading one of the LEGO books I got or building or helping Little Miss Speedy build something. I managed 8hrs almost constant building in one session, few good films on the laptop or some music, few snacks and middle of the day beers, its just heaven!

    So, what nobody knew is that there are TWO raised tiles in #41394...The pink star round 1x1s, and the 'diamond fragment' Earth Blue 1x1s...How they appear to be done is an element pressed into another,(non-removable.) or perhaps dual molded...

    I checked my mail last night and found an envelope from LEGO in it. As I wasn't expecting anything, I thought it might be my last PaB order that got stuck in customs finally arriving. I opened it to find an order of Small Pine Trees that I added on to reach the Dickens GWP threshold. 

    ...glad it arrived as I had completely forgotten about it!

    Put my order in as the fireworks were going off. New police station, x wing, TIE, micro Falcon and a couple of City sets. Now we wait for Ninjago City Gardens. On top of that my Cantina has shipped.

    I bought a Play and Display stand (blue) to experiment with to display some Lego. My first idea was to have a little scene with some Super Mario inside. Most of the Lego is put away in drawers when not played with so this display means a small amount can be on view and look nice in the room.

    Lego also make a Red version of the Play and display box so I've ordered that to make a Lava version of Super Mario.
