@autolycus I still worked at an LBR store when the UCS Falcon was released and remember being blown away at the its size and presence. How are you displaying yours? It's not an easy set to display, for all its glory, due to its footprint rather than its height.

I’m building it on a desk in the “man cave”. It could stay there for a while, but it’s most like to end up on an old tv cart behind my home office desk chair that’s ~20”x26”. Right now my winter village is on a 30x40” ply board that’s sitting on top of that. Once I break down the winter village, I have an angled acrylic stand for the MF (from iDisplayIt) and it will probably go on the tv cart. I expect to leave it there for a while, but I eventually plan to get a glass coffee table display for the man cave.

The tv cart is my usual large set rotation spot. It’s had fairground sets, Hogwarts Castle, Saturn V and the Tree House, winter village, etc. It’s one of only a couple spot for big sets like those, so the MF can’t linger too long before I move it to something permanent!

    #75299 - Beskar and Baby!

Didn't actually bother to build the hut at this time since it was this that I was really after. Oh, and got it at 20% off in addition to being about a week early. *happiness*
Where? How? Thank you for opening it, and building (some of) it, and sharing it with us! ...I'm off work until January 4th, maybe I should drive to Oregon...

^ Insane? Well, maybe... but wouldn't that be a great story? "I drove 3000 miles to get a LEGO set a week early, and save $6."

At Fred Meyer (the PNW version of Kroger). A LUG member tipped us off that they had all LEGO at 20% off (third time in the last couple months they've done this, same way I got #75318 at 20% off) and that they had some 2021 sets out. So I stopped by on my way home from work, and violà, they had 1 left! There were a number of other 2021 sets out as well, but the budget is light right now and this was my number one.

I remember Fred Meyer from Alaska. I got #6988 Alpha Centauri Outpost at the Fairbanks, AK Fred Meyer in early 1991. I was recalled to U.S. Army active duty for Desert Storm and ended up in Alaska!

And we're off.  Still no sign of the reindeer, but winged Skulkins are helping out this year.

    Morbid, yet definitely 2020 appropriate!

Not having served myself, but having several family members and friends who have, this sounds like the most U.S. Army thing ever: recall you and then send you to literally the complete opposite part of the globe.

Yup, that is definitely the oddest Christmas display I think I have ever seen! Well done! ;-)

Worried about the reindeer's safety during this unprecedented year, Santa decided to use some of the skeletons in his closet instead .

chose Alaska! 😃 I'm Minnesotan, most of my ancestors were Scandinavian. It was a warm winter while I was there, late February-early March: high temps near freezing most days. We went to Alaska to replace soldiers that would go to the Middle East to replace casualties, but the war was so short they weren't needed, so we weren't needed.

On bag set #11 of the Falcon... This thing weighs a ton already, and I still have 6 more sets of bags! I'm now really dreading getting it downstairs when I eventually display it in my home office.

    Remove windows. Use forklift.

Isn’t this how it’s handled in My 600 lb Lego Life ?

As its #legobuildday today, after a nice walk in the fresh air, we've got a festive film on and the bricks are out.
Little Miss Speedy has done the Friends pod and cube and started on a couple of TLM2 sets while I'm on Elf Club House duty. Still on emergency callout, so just a pint of squash. Beer gets opened on Monday when I finish work for Christmas.

HP castle, Disney castle and BB8 all on the go here, trying not to mix the sets up and help both kids at once

Very slow going - might be finished by 2022

@Speedman29 I will be interested to hear your thoughts on #42114 ... I’m trying to decide between it or saving up for #42100

The R9800 does look cool. But for me Technic building site vehicles must be yellow. I had #8853 and #8850 as a child and I would combine them into a digger bucket fronted 6x6 or 8x8 truck. As soon as I saw the Volvo A60H I knew I had to get it.
I've heard the articulation and off road ability is not that great, but its going to driven around the lounge and kitchen mostly, so I'm not too fussed.

I love technic ,if it wasn't so dear I'd only have it. Powering up and possible programmability make it the ultimate model to build

I like the bigger Technic sets that take a while to build. This is the first one I've bought since the 911 GT3. Another few hours yesterday in between a family walk and cooking turkey curry. And ready to start bag 3 today

This is the best option I've seen.  I do like Docking Bay 94, or the hanger in Hoth as well.  Which version is this?  (The 7.8k piece version?)

Ok, the tablecloth appears to have its own fan club, this is a real hoot!
In building news, yesterday saw more Volvo construction. I got to a point where batteries we installed, requires 6x AA. We only had 5 left in the house!
So while my Speedy ladies went for a walk to the shops, I carried on and got to this stage by teatime, when a leftover turkey pie needed making.

    @SumoLego
Thanks. And it's the 7.8k piece version by jmfbtb that's on ReBrickable:

    https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-0631/jmfbtb/lego-docking-bay-327-for-ucs-falcon/#details

The original design is two 48x48 stud baseplates deep with a row of 16x32 baseplates in the middle for a depth of 112 studs from front edge to back wall. However, that's a really big footprint so I eliminated the 16x32s and saved 5 inches. In hindsight I would've used 1x3s instead of 1x4s for the frame and saved a little more space...there doesn't need to be that much of a lip on the bottom of the table. The Falcon will fit in the reduced footprint; I actually brought the partially-finished docking bay down to the Lego store I used to work at and took at the MilF from the display case to verify. There won't be much extra room but it'll fit.

I did use 16x32 black tiles on the floor wherever possible; they have a much more matted finish than the 2x2s which are very glossy but unless you're looking straight down at them you won't really tell.  The alternative is order another 928 black 2x2 tiles and lay them all down which I wasn't about to do at this point. Plus the Falcon will be over them anyway.

I am assembling #10255 (Assembly Square). I just couldn't make myself disassemble my SW ships to make room for HP sets. I went with the easy out of building something I had a display spot for.
