Not the region-exclusive set from Amazon US I was referring to before, but this arrived from Indonesia a couple of days ago. One of the better Juniors sets IMO. Only other construction set I have is #60219, and this is a good inexpensive way to get a proper crew and most of the basic equipment to start with, even if it's called Demolition Site. The exclusive tipper bucket piece is just icing on the cake.

My Amazon order is here: #70849 Wyld-Mayhem Star Fighter. None of the final wave of TLM2 sets was released locally. This is the one I was interested in. I really dig the color scheme (apparently an unpopular opinion), and I loved seeing Lucy and Sweet Mayhem working together and seeing this ship in the movie proper. Oh and all 4 characters have exclusive head and/or body prints. And Lucy's hood piece returns.
As expected, abysmal padding, so the box took a few hits. There's a massive dent across the entire front, for one. But I guess it's not too bad all things considered. The entire back is intact, as are the pristine seals. Let's just hope there are no missing parts.
I hate it when LEGO doesn't make any indication that a product is region-exclusive or otherwise unreleased in some major markets.

Well, one of the reason for getting the party bus was the colors.

I'm normally getting Pirates of Barracuda Bay soon. I think I never struggled to buy something on lego.com so much, but not because of lego, couldn't get a security code from my bank.

Today a new LEGO Certified Store opened just 20 minutes from home! They had the audacity to set up shop just 2 units away from the Toys "R" Us that's been operating for decades, even.
I waited nearly 4 hours for my turn thanks to safe distancing measures limiting the number of customers in-store and prolonging the queue, but I've no issues with that whatsoever. After a 10% membership discount, #71360 Adventures with Mario and #71367 Mario's House & Yoshi added up to just enough for the LEGO Store opening GWP #40145. I was confident I'd get that GWP eventually, but not under these circumstances! Got a DC Super Heroes CMF from a lucky dip that was part of the grand opening as well, planning to sell that one off.
I really like LEGO Super Mario but I'm undecided if I want to keep or sell these two sets. I have several other expansion sets on my wanted list but other than #71362 and #71366 I'm not actually planning on getting the rest.
In other news, this week I picked up two sets of #11004 Windows of Creativity (aka the window NPU set) for 30% off, and I found a solution to the dented front of my #70849 box: lay it face down so the contents weigh down on it. I even put it on some makeshift risers and added some extra weight on top for good measure. Check out that bulge lol.

Box is all good now, and the contents themselves were surprisingly well-packed too, with the bags completely maintaining their shape and the instruction booklet being merely rolled rather than folded and torn (thanks to its thickness, I guess). No missing parts, no more complaints, can't be happier and can't wait to build it to go with #70831 Emmet's Rescue Rocket! (Yes I know they never appeared together technically, sue me.)

I’m a bit jealous of that GWP...I’ve never been able to make a store opening event, so congrats!

I’m a Unikitty fan, so I was pleased when these arrived a week ago...

I’ve had my eye on that AstroKitty Keychain Light for a few years, but had to wait quite a while for a reasonable price (cheapest one on BL currently is $28 and in Europe)...

Now I just have to figure out how to keep my dogs from trying to eat my plush Unikitty duo...

Out in the New Forest yesterday and popped by the LEGO shop in Southampton to try and get a SW advent calendar. All out of stock so just bought the wreath instead.

A 16x16 baseplate for #6066. Had 3 8x16s around, so my son could still start building, but couldn’t find the 16x16 for the life of me. Great BLseller had it with me within 36hrs, for a very reasonable price (actually, postage was more than the plate ;))

#41169 half off at Wegmans (regional supermarket chain). With Disney sets being a lot per piece more like 25% off what a similar set of another theme would be but still good for a Frozen fan cousin

Both plush Unikitties joined my collection as well last week. 😊

These hadn't been available in Europe, but a couple of weeks ago I finally found a US seller who had them both, to cut down on shipping charges.

Are you planning on getting any of the other Unikitty keychains?

I might have to take a trip to check out what else is on sale. I was able to get The Child set recently too for around the same deal, but not at Fred Meyers. Honestly, I didn't know they ever put LEGO on sale. I'll have to add it to my rotation.

Definitely do @Switchfoot55! They really seem to have upped their LEGO game lately. The shelves are all well stocked with a good selection including a lot more "adult" sets from what I've seen (things like architecture, helmets, Ideas sets, etc.). And this now is the second 20% off all LEGO sales I've seen there in the past couple months, so if you're able to use it to snag one of those rarely on-sale items it's well worth it.

Nice. The stickers at Fred Meyer said the sale ends today (the third).

Mine had an end cap far from the regular sets (and the female-targeted sets) that were older & in less quantities. It might be worth it to look around.

I’ve found some retired sets on their shelves in the past at discount too.

Downtown diner is back in stock at S@H in US, so I just bought one.

i had been checking for months but ended up using that “ brick hound” Texting service and it worked out great. I can’t remember which thread I saw it in, but despite the pessimism of brick hound enabling robo scalpers, everything went swimmingly so I’m going to add a few more sets to brickhound that I’ve been waiting on during Covid.

I'll give the same thumbs up for Brickhound as I got the same text. Thankfully I'd already bought a copy at Amazon, but if I hadn't, this would have worked out splendidly.

Ordered a bunch of bricks to get to about 99,5%c complete for my BL'ed/BnP'ed #10197. Just 46 bricks to go (if I ordered correctly, which my last WV-builds/BL/BnP-orders do NOT bode well ;)) - some pretty rare (https://www.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3581&C=86 anyone? - just going to settle for a used pair). Only thing I really had to let go are the red garage door-segments. They are just about unobtainium.

Just got finished building #75286 General Grievous's Starfighter.  It was a decent build, some interesting little twists, and there were definitely a decent chunk of larger pieces included.  I was able to get it at a large discount, and ended up paying about $50 for it.  Given the parts distribution, I think that $50 would have been a more than fair RRP, and could have seen it being worth it even at $60.  It is NOT an $80 set though, and I wouldn't touch it if you're not able to get it at heavy discount.

Pulled the trigger on #42112 for 36% off which is not a bad deal at all, considering how overpriced it is where I live. When Huw reviewed it I said I'd get it if I had the spare change as it'd pair excellently with my #42079 (which I got for a whopping 46% off), but this was one of the best possible deals I could get for it, so I placed the order just in case. I can always return it within 15 days, or resell it for a tiny little profit. I really really like it, but if I'm honest with myself, unlike the forklift I could probably live without this one even though it's the first official Technic concrete mixer.

I know it’s the pandemic and more people than ever are buying LEGO for something to do at home, but it is crazy that at least I am not seeing the usual pre-Christmas deals. It’s so bad that seeing LEGO at 20% off is a good deal. We’ll see what Black Friday weekend will bring,

    Hi guys.

Oh yes.  Both versions of Falcon, Death Star, and Taj.  I didn’t really mind Falcon because it’s basically new build and new set but I was annoyed at Taj. Death Star did have some differences as well at least.

And yes of course I consider Technic to be valid sets.

I used Brickset to track the sets.  Did you know the very first set they released over 2000 pieces was the Statue of Liberty in the year 2000?  In the 20 yrs since they released total of 89 more sets for 90 and counting.

I think I shared my set list at brickset.  It’s dfchang813.   You can see all the sets I own there.  😅

I had 20 over 2000, and 5 of those are over 4000 pieces... I think I like too many vintage sets to contemplate modern day “completionism” (if that is even a word!) 🙂

Also FYI I’m not a new set collector.  Over 75 percent of my collection are unopened but that’s a function of time and space.  I fully plan on building all of them and reviewing them on YouTube eventually.  I have a few already up actually.   And of course by time I started some of the older grails were astronomically priced so I got them used.  Still paid 1600 usd for Falcon though ... 😰

also none of the sets were BrickLink’ed.  Some of them don’t have original boxes but they all came with original instructions so I’m pretty sure they are authentic.

Hope this is of some interest to those of you out there.    I’m not even sure if what I’m doing is all that but I’ve never found anyone else who had done this. 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

Yes, those are big sets and very heavy indeed! It’s a wonderfully envy-inspiring collection!

Meanwhile, of my 256 sets owned, only one has >1000 pieces... and it's the #42112 that just arrived a couple days ago. Not even a System set! The closest System set would be #31084 at 923 pieces which I bought just a few months ago, right as it bottomed out in value and started appreciating immediately afterwards.
