D'Oh!

I uh, feel like a moron. I nearly bought a Target gift card, because I thought it was a similar thing to sets like #4659758 or #4620157 which were physical gift cards with a polybag-sized Creator-type build of Bullseye in a plastic case/gift box. Should've known when it said "Email Delivery" that it had no actual LEGO in it.

I'm seriously surprised that there isn't a small set that has a physical Bullseye figure using the German Shepherd mold anyway. The build itself looks polybag sized.

Any D'Oh moments you've had in this hobby?

    I bought a whole bunch of 16 x 16 baseplates from Bricklink thinking I was ordering 16 x 16 plates.

I ordered $12 worth of the old style train "bearing element" pieces off of BnPs, the kind that used the metal bar as the axle. The intent was to get the wheels and bars off of bricklink later. Then the new style came out with the click in wheels so I ended up getting those since it was easier. Now I am stuck with the old ones and nothing to do with them, unless I want to go to the cost and effort to get the bars and wheels that go with them. It's only $12, but then again that could be quite a few parts off of BnPs.

I brought home four cups from PaB (that I had to smuggle out of Disney in my dirty clothes) of light gray 2x2 tiles thinking they were dark gray tiles.

^ I also thought the same for the brick-style 1x2s, and I thought I had arranged them improperly.  But they are the same.

I had the same happening to me, but by accident ordering 16x16 white plates instead of the 16x16 baseplates I wanted...
I love 8x16 and 16x16 baseplates! Perfect for mini-modulars and small scenes. My LUG uses 16x32 as a standard setup for conventions, and 8x16 and 16x16 can easily be slotted in.

I added the inventory for my first dozen or so Rebrickable MOCs manually, one part at a time, which usually took at least an hour, if not more. Then one day I finally realized that I could import the parts directly from a Stud.io file :)

Quicker but still not foolproof as there seems to be some discrepancy between stud.io and Rebrickable databases. Pet peeve. Perhaps wrong thread.

D'oh moments? Sure. Realising Lego had value over time, then buying too much of the bloody stuff :)

I saw on the local market place a post with a bunch of lego sets stacked about 1.5 meters high, one over the other, all large boxes. On top it was the Tower of Orhanc, which was out of production at that time for about 1.5 years.
There was a "250 Euro" text drawn on the pic (in Paint i think).
So I call and ask How much for the tower, thinking that 250 Euro doesn't seem so bad.

He replies..."Oh no, I don`t sell set by set. Either you take them all, or not. 250 Euros. Do you want them?"

My answer can be found in the title of this thread.

Also known as the brag thread.
Maybe one says "D'oh!" on different occasions in Romania :)
