Great set, but I still question the decision to arm the monkey... :-)

Looks like the Pirate is exercising his right to both bare arms and bear arms!

#71719. For me, Ninjago is very hit-or-miss. I really like this subtheme.

Finished #21034 London skyline a few days ago. Looks nice but all those particularly tiny pieces got tedious and I was eager to clear the table for a non-LEGO project

Not actually building it yet, but clearing space for #75978 Diagon Alley.

This was a fun little build. Not quite Smaug quality but it should be climbing up hogwarts soon when I finish the astronomy tower.

#75292 Razor Crest. Build time was about 1:45. I really like it. The box shows Greef Karga in the escape pod (if that's what it is) on the top. I don't remember that, but December (when I watched the series) was a long time ago.

I got #6259 built and added into the Imperial display. Not too bad of a fit in between #6276 & #6267. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how this display is coming along!

    Thank you!!

This is the other half (the pirates side) of the display as it currently stands... Not nearly as nice. I need to cut a blue baseplate to fill the gap. It's also much more cramped due to the size of the Barracuda. #6273 is the only set I'm still missing from the 1989-91 range, but I'm unlikely to get it if for no other reason than I wouldn't be able to display it with the rest.

This display is on top of a 4x3 Kallax unit currently and unfortunately I won't have any more space for display than that anytime soon. But... one can dream!

(If I do happen to stumble across a good deal on #6273 I'm sure I'll pick it up even though I have no place to display it currently.)

Finished building a pickup truck. I used some interesting snot techniques to make the sides on the bed of the truck only two plates thick and used 2x2 red slopes turned on their side to taper down into the bottom of the truck.

It should be the perfect edition to my farm scene!

Man, I'm drooling over here @JudgeChuck! On average, how much would you say its cost you in parts for each one?
  • JudgeChuckJudgeChuck UKMember Posts: 1,552
:-) Honestly, I'm not 100% sure, as I've been sourcing some parts form my spares collection and also I've been buying for multiple Wanted Lists at times, but I'd guess that each much be getting close to £100 on average.
I really ought to work it all out, but I'm also a little scared of doing so! ;-)

I'm just waiting for a couple of BL orders to fill in a few missing pieces. Those orders will also complete the parts that I need to put together @veyniac's two Minecraft MOCs, The Warped Forest and The Ruined Portal.
I liked them both so much that, as I was already raising orders for the RotK skyline, I thought I'd kill three birds with one stone and do these as well! Pics to follow.
Cool! It is nice to hear that someone is actually building my creations! Rebrickable doesn't tell me if anyone downloads my free instructions, so I usually have no clue if people actually build my smaller MOCs. I can't wait to see pictures!

p.s. I hope all the teal parts were not too expensive. I tried to use the cheapest parts, but that color has such a limited palette right now :(

No, I don't think they were too bad, IIRC!

Having checked, the following were fairly expensive:

    Dark Turquoise Plate 2 x 2
Dark Turquoise Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Groove and 1 Stud in Center (Jumper)

I already had a few Dark Turquoise bricks that I'd picked up from a PaB wall a while ago (wish I'd got more!) and I sourced the rest for a good price.

I really like your "End City" MOC as well, so may attempt that at some point in the near-ish future.

I'll definitely post some pics in this thread shortly! :-)

Just a little time for jb’s sub last night. Not an essential set but it’s nice to get another spooky aquatic creature.

I’m ready to break some seals on something bigger Tonight.

Definitely the primary draw of all of the sets (for me) are the Milano ships.

Nice collection!  Have you looked into the UCS Milano over at BBB?  I have the instructions but haven’t sourced the parts yet...

To be honest, I hadn't... but it's intriguing! One of these days I will start down the path of some of these custom models that are so cool. BBB has some great Lord of the Rings instructions I'd love to try as well. Same with the skylines.

@pxchris I've built the BBB Balrog, Oliphant and Prancing Pony and all are well-worth doing. I've just seen that they've added a Fell-Beast, but I must admit that I'm not too taken by it at the moment. It just doesn't look quite right in some way. I'll see if it grows on me.

Whipped up #6086, planned to quit after 20 or so steps but finished it. Minor modifications as usual. Ran out of the black wall panels so had to improvise with brick-built ones.
I like how your use of the Pirates baseplaye depicts a moat around the castle- it's the "wrong" baseplate, but actually better!

Couple of updates from the last week or so. First up are two of @veyniac's Lego Minecraft MOCs.

    The Warped Forest:

    The Ruined Portal:

I think both of these MOCs work really well and either could have been an official set. Nice use of #6262134 Plant, W/ 3.2 Shaft, No. 2 to represent either Twisting Vines or Warped Roots.

Secondly will be the final part of @BenBuildsLego's The Lord of the Rings Skyline sets. I've previously built TFOTR and TTT and next up is The Return of the King, however, I'll need to take the model downstairs and find some space to get a clear pic, so you'll have to wait for that one! ;-)

@JudgeChuck wow, those look so much better in real life! I am glad you liked them so much and that they "worked" (as a Studio builder, one of my worst fears is having someone message me to say that two parts of the model are entirely disconnected or something). Hopefully I will get around to building them myself one of these days...
  • veyniacveyniac Northwest MinnesotaMember Posts: 310
@JudgeChuck by the way, the plant piece was what convinced me to do this model. I had the idea, but got cold feet after I looked at the scarce parts palette for dark turquoise. However, the idea to use the plant parts popped into my head a few days later, and I knew I had to do it!
  • JudgeChuckJudgeChuck UKMember Posts: 1,552
@Veyniac For Minecraft, not having a huge parts palette isn't much of a limitation, to be fair! Although, having said that, as shown by your parts list, Dark Turquoise has not been made available as a 2x2 brick since its reintroduction and the 2x6 brick is *very* limited in numbers, only appearing in 2 sets.
I think the compromises you made are perfectly fine, as the 1x2, 1x3 and 1x4 bricks are fairly easy to get hold of in that colour.
As for "working", yes, absolutely they did. My only possible improvement might have been to make the rock frame attach to the top of the Obsidian portal, just to give it a little more rigidity. Currently, it is a tiny bit "wobbly", but it's nothing too bad!
Other than that minor criticism, all good! :-)

Yeah, you are not the first one to point that out :( The two parts did attach at the top at one point, but I went through a few redesigns of the top because it didn't look quite right. Reattaching it must have slipped my mind. One easy fix is to hide one black and one dark bluish grey 1x2 technic brick in the column, connected by a friction pin.

Yup, that would work but, to be honest, it's not much of an issue anyway, so I'll just leave it as it is. :-)

That's fun. I haven't build it but would like to. I was looking for a similar model for Sleeping Beauty's Castle a while back but had no luck.
