My Lego status is that I’m driving to evacuate my son (and his Lego) from the blue dot on the map!
Stay safe! Hope traffic won't be an issue.

This is why I don't mind snow and the occasional ice storm.

Just put in a few BL orders for @BenBuildsLego's LoTR: The Return of the King skyline. I've really enjoyed putting together the first two and this will complete the trilogy, but I think I may have to do The Hobbit as well, for completeness-sake.

I am currently experiencing the joys of [email protected] Backorder Roulette.  The Crocodile I ordered that was supposed to be on backorder until September 15th arrived.  The Slave 1 I ordered that was supposed to have been delivered yesterday is nowhere to be found.

    I eagerly await Monday's delivery...

Debating whether to go to Mall of America tomorrow and get in line at the LEGO store for a #75292. I asked an employee yesterday if they would have any and she wasn't sure- they got a truck last week, but she didn't know everything that was on it. She said they never know how many of a particular set they're going to get. She was sure there would be a line before opening: she hinted quite strongly that they would have Diagon Alley. I don't mind waiting in line if I get one, but would be annoyed to wait for nothing. Plus, I got #75293 yesterday, so I don't need #75292 right away (or so I'm trying to convince myself!)

Getting into another expensive hobby. I told myself I didn't need that but it happened anyway.
Games Workshop has The Lego Group beat in the expensive plastic department, and it isn't even separated from the sprue or colored. Most sets need to be superglued together, and even push fit kits benefit from superglue reinforcement.

    Intrigued /slightly confused by this...

Lego really are making interesting partnerships lately. IKEA, UMG, and now Levi's. Very interesting to see where this all leads.

Enjoy buying more paints and brushes every time you even go near a Games Workshop. I got back into Warhammer about 10 or so years ago but now I'm out of it again it seems to be too big and confusing to get back into again. I have a big backlog of tanks I have to paint and assemble.

I'm at Mall of America, waiting in line. They're already letting people into the LEGO store, opens at 11:00am. Employee was asking us what we're after; apparently they have plenty of #75292.
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 3,730
Got my Razor Crest. 😁😁😁 When I checked out, they had 11 more (and 6 Diagon Alley) next to the registers. I don't know how many more might be in the back room.

I went a little crazy with LEGO purchases the last few weeks (since so much came into stock in the US), plus diagon alley last night.

So Last night I started cataloging LPs to sell to off to fund this hobby (my sell pile is about 500 or so).

    Just exchanging PVC for ABS.

Huh.  I think I got rid of all of my other hobbies.

Other than ruthlessly murdering mice that opt to live in my lawn tractor engine.  But that's more of a pastime.

Why do you need a new hobby? If you're getting out of Lego, can I have your polybags?

No, apparently I need to collect Chevy Chevelles, Vinyl LPs or something not LEGO-related.

I'm hoping I can jump into Beanie Babies or early 2000's Star Wars action figures.

Go for late 90's Star Wars figures. There were about a billion of us all buying at least two of every figure- one to open, one to save. So there ought to be a billion MOMC of each figure floating around.

Stoked I'm finding more and more pretty good deals on parts for the #10197 I am BL/BnP&PaB-ing.

Will be some time before I get to have all the parts (mainly because I am postponing a large BnP/PaB order of about 1000parts till I have finished my WV-projects), but I did order some hard-to-find parts already. :) If all goes as currently planned, I should be building a almost accurate #10197 (aside from the red door-segments which i will replace by trans black/brown ones as the red ones are unobtanium new, which is a must for me) for about €200; a ISB currently is over €400.

Picking my way though the scattered remains of #76899 I won on ebay in the vain hope its 100% complete as promised. Its not, its minifigureless and the gantry isn't there, I suppose for over 50% off I shouldn't be too annoyed

Working a bit more on the Pirates layout. I took one of the two Sabre Island #6265 sets I have on each side of Eldorado Fortress and mirrored it. Not 100% sure how I feel about it yet, but I think I like it.
I also got some blue baseplates to fill in the gap. For the time being I haven't cut anything down, but it seems to be working out. My concern is warping the plates that go up onto the ledge of the Kallax shelf unit this display is on.
I'm also a bit dismayed at just exactly how much the price on Pirates minifigures have raised in the past few months. I love how many new people have rediscovered the LEGO hobby during this time, but I dislike what it's done to the aftermarket prices.

Impressed with the use of 'detritus', and planning to use it aggressively at the office next week.

We are closing on a house this week (assuming inspection goes well).

There is a section of the unfinished basement that will become my LEGO corridor (after doing the essential fixes on the other floors).

I doubt it will ever be as crazy cool as I saw this spring on the Brickset LEGO room series, but it will be my little corner of the world, and I’m excited to start amassing storage organizers and such.
That's awesome, congrats on the house! How many square feet will the LEGO corridor be?
