The Ron and Hermione are from year 6 from the Three Broomsticks scene and they both have a cup of butterbeer.

Are we certain that there is no chase 1 per case extra figures in this case like they had with the first series?

Nope, we're not. We'll have to wait for official news or for someone to buy a case.

Some fillers I think I will skip, certainly Hermione in that weird, unrecognisable outfit, but some good ones as well. Why is Harry in a variation of the OotP outfit we've already gotten instead of the red jacket? The main thing that excites me about this is the promise of a lot of good things to come when they could afford to include so many obscure characters/outfits here. Dumbledore is perfect, though!

    Official, rumour, or wishlist?

Someone found a box in Romania on store shelves. I'm pretty stoked that they included James and Lily in the set! :)
Box photo available via Brickfinder on facebook.
Looks like Lily comes with a baby Harry

Lily and James? Really? I mean, interesting enough idea to include, but I'm scratching my head on this. I don't think I would ever got there... as evidenced perhaps by my wishlist from February.

It is a careful balancing act between having enough popular characters to make the series sell with including more obscure characters for collectors of everything HP while also trying not to damage sales of current and future sets by not including characters in outfits that will be in sets. They probably don't care about characters in outfits that we already have as people will already have bought those sets.

It's amazing, eh? I'm still a little stunned that they included them.
Now they just need to make Bill and Kreacher, and then I no longer care who they release or not.:)

I wouldn't say no to anyone there. It's just that with Bill and Kreacher I'd have all of the characters that I actively want to see. Everyone else is window dressing. Unless they plan on ever doing FB characters. Then there are a few more characters I really want.
I find it odd that we have three Fleur minifigs, but not a single Bill. I suppose he doesn't actually show up in the films until the wedding though.

I wanted to know the stats for each film within the two CMF series, so I counted the figs:

    8 - GoF
    6 - CoS, PoA, HBP & FBaWtFT
2 - PS, OotP & DH pt.2 (I count James as PS and Lily as DH)
    0 - DH pt. 1 & TCoG

My biggest surprise is that Philosopher's Stone is so low, but I guess it's just so well covered in the sets that there isn't much to add. It's probably too early to lament the lack of Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows pt.1 figs, as I'm sure we'll get more sets based on them in the coming year. There's still not a single thing based on DH pt. 1! :O

Sticker sheet for the Diagon Alley set leaked:

    • Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes (lot’s of stickers for this)
    • Flourish and Blotts with posters of Gilderoy Lockhart (so let’s hope he’s included)
    • Florean Fortescue’s ice cream parlor (we already saw his figure leak)
    • Ollivanders
    • Quality Quidditch Supplies
    • Scribbulus

there are a lot of ‘posters’ and smaller papers on the sticker sheets that I can’t make out.
    No sticker for Gringotts?

    This really gets me excited!

Looks like we'll be getting two Magical Me books in the set - hopefully in addition to some more Monster Book of Monsters in a cage :) Gringotts is presumably left until next year as part of the DH range, maybe instead of a large part of the castle? Really excited to see the full Diagon Alley set soon!

The stickers are... big... I thought this was rumoured to be a microscale set?? Aren’t these stickers too big for a microscale set?
  • J0rgenJ0rgen Member Posts: 591
They've already done microscale as a GWP. This will be minifig size.

Ok so now I’m interested. I knew about the gwp but still thought I had read the rumour was a microscale set.  If this is minifig scale and has this many buildings then I guess they won’t be nearly as big and detailed as the first Diagon Alley but they should still look good within a city. Can’t wait for the reveal now!!

There was never a rumor that it was micro scale. There were a bunch of people online who kept saying that makes the most sense, although those people weren’t thinking it through very well. A $400 micro scale “Diagonal Alley” would have had to include a bunch of random London buildings that had nothing to do with wizards.

I must have read some of those comments, I guess, and I lost interest at that point as I don’t like microscale at all. I am excited to hear that it will be minifig scale and will be paying better attention to this topic on the forums from now on!!

I'm imagining that we are getting four "buildings"...
Sticker Sheet A: Ollivanders Wand Shop, with a Scribbulus Writing Implements facade(?)
Sticker Sheet B: Quality Quidditch Supplies, with a Daily Prophet facade(?)
Sticker Sheet C: Flourish and Blotts Bookseller, with a Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour facade(?)
Sticker Sheet D: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes

Am I looking at the stickers correctly?
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 887
They might all just be facades with a little bit interior space (and I’m fine with that)
I’m sure whatever it turns out to be, I won’t be disappointed. The quality of the Harry Potter sets is on point!

I hope not. The castle builds are my favorite part of the theme. Everyone's all hyped on DA, but I'm still just excitedly waiting on the astronomy tower and the RoR. Hahaha.
If they do decide to release the bank as a stand alone set, I'd hope they do so alongside another castle build. There's room in a wave for more than one 100$+ set. :)

I agree with this. 2020 has brought us the $100 Astronomy Tower and the $100 Burrow plus a $70 set (Privet Drive). If Gringotts is a standalone in 2021, they could certainly do a $100 Hogwarts extension and a $100 Gringotts. Based on the # of buildings we now expect in DA, a $100 Gringotts would probably be a reasonable scale. They could probably even push up to $120 without too much belly aching from fans.

But a £100 Gringotts set would surely be undergroud. It could use the rollercoaster parts and include the vault and dragon.

I would be surprised if Gringotts didn't come in the set but we will find out soon.

I don't know how they could possibly fit a roller coaster section and all the other things people want in the underground part of Gringotts in a set that's $100.

At this point I honestly have no real guess on whether Gringotts will be in DA or a separate set released next year, but if it's released next year, it's not going to have all the things that a lot of people are wish-listing unless it's >$100, and possibly >$200 (see e.g. Joker Manor).
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,308
^ Yeah I agree. I was expecting the main building to come with DA and then the underground part to be a bit like #7199 with a dragon. But if non of it comes with DA we are going to need it to cover a few sets or be a another D2C.

I wouldn't even want a Grongotts with an elaborate underground track. It would look ridiculous alongside the other buildings in the theme. I geg that I'm not the kid that such play featres would be intended for, but it would fully annoy me if they did that.
A seperate set with some tracks and vaults would be fine, but a shell of the bank atop a playset would be absurd.

A Jabba's Palace/Rancor Cave solution is probably the best way to go. Vaults and rollercoaster in one set, and the bank building itself as another, that you can either place on top of the coaster, or next to this year's Diagon Alley. My guess is Diagon Alley will be connected by sidewalk, like the GWP, so Gringotts as a separate set makes sense if it's meant to be stackable.

It's all kind of a moot point. Gringotts will absolutely be in the set. A subterranean playset my very well be in the pipe, but it's neither here nor there.
  • J0rgenJ0rgen Member Posts: 591
A little minifig speculation while we wait. I think the main focus of the set will be PS/CoS, so I think all the kids will have short legs except Fred and George. Doris Crockford and Deadlus Diggle should perhaps be filed under "far fetched" as well, but I think we might have them just to have some citizens. 18-19 figs in a Death Star/Cloud City size set seems probable to me:

    Confirmed
    Harry (PS)
    Florean Fortescue (CoS)

    Guaranteed
    Hagrid
    Ron
    Hermione
    Ollivander (PS)
    Fred (HBP)
    George (HBP)

    Probable
    Lockhart (CoS)
    Lucius Malfoy (CoS)
    Mr. Weasley
    Mrs. Weasley

    Possible
    Tom (PoA)
    Draco Malfoy
    Ginny
    Professor Quirrel
    Doris Crockford
    Dedalus Diggle
    Daily Prophet photographer

    Far fetched
    Mr. Granger
    Mrs. Granger
    Narcissa Malfoy
    Fenrir Greyback

With the leaked stickers, I feel like there’s two options:
    A) there’s another sticker sheet for Gringotts that hasn’t been leaked.
    B) Gringotts won’t be included (and may come in a set next year)

I think it’s perfectly possible for LEGO to not include the Gringotts building, sort of like the 3D puzzles. I imagine the set might look similar, with a couple of facades in a row and an open back for accessability/playability.

I'm kind of hoping Diagon Alley will be four modular buildings in a set so that Diagon Alley 2 can feature more buildings to connect onto them. I mean that or we get a dedicated Knockturn Alley to attach to it and then Gringotts can be a corner building to link to another row of shops or the back of a Leaky Cauldron build with wall entrance.

Totally feel it'd be a great way to have a fully enclosed Diagon Alley on the shelf.

    Definitely possible, however include:

    -Florean Fortescue's
    -Scribbulus
    -Daily Prophet

    Instead of:

    -Eeylops Owl Emporium
    -Gringotts
    -Madam Malkin's
    -Magical Menagerie
    -Cauldron Shop
    -Slug & Jiggers Apothecary

I find hard to believe ;)

Further down the speculation pathway, #75969 Astronomy Tower seems to be set at Professor Slughorn's Christmas Party, so will 2021 Advent Calender include Cormac McLaggen and Sanguini? Will we ever get the Weird Sisters?
  • J0rgenJ0rgen Member Posts: 591
I've been thinking about it, and I really hope next year's calendar won't be HBP themed. My biggest wish is a polyjuice potion themed one, including Harry and Ron as Crabbe and Goyle, as well as cat Hermione. A Hogsmeade themed PoA calendar would also be good. I just think Slughorn's party is too boring to revisit.

What's weird is that it doesn't include a character list! I was soooo looking forward to seeing what other characters come with this set, though a Lockhart figure looks to be confirmed with the signing event happening at Flourish & Blotts.
