Not counting polybags, magazine GWPs or the movie CMF, there has been sets that contain Nya for less than AU$40 (two of the Legacy sets were under AU$25); 70600, 70651, 70665, 70680 & 853544, so there have been a few cheaper options for Nya.
Thanks for the heads up. The Nya my kids are hoping for is 'grey' Nya, as opposed to the Samurai X and Maroon variants in the ones you've mentioned. Being the softy I am, I've already purchased the sets with her in for Xmas : )

So the first episode of season twelve has been uploaded to YouTube...in Korean

Found it interesting that the Ninja are still using at least a couple of vehicles from last season; it seems like a new season usually means last season's vehicles get forgotten if they weren't destroyed. Still, all the vehicles from this year's sets are either Legacy or Prime Empire, so I suppose it makes sense that they haven't switched over yet.

On the subject of destroyed vehicles, anyone else notice how the Land Bounty and Titan Mech had play features that were never really implemented in the series? Specifically, the fact that each had a component that could split off into a flying vehicle? The ATV that came with the Land Bounty at least got mentioned, but the aircraft built into the two vehicles weren't even alluded to in season eleven.

Well, the upper portion of the Land Bounty did get ripped off by Boreal, so needless to say the splitting function was known by the time the episode was being animated. I suspect that either the writers weren't informed about that feature, or the designers hadn't firmly settled on including a separate flying vehicle in those sets in time to work it into the script.
It's not the first time we've seen a major play feature in the sets omitted from the show. Cole's Tread Assault from 2012 had a "camouflage" feature that revealed green body panels to disguise it as part of the Serpentine fleet, but this never made it into the show, since the set was still in early development when Season 1 was being written.
In fact, even when it came time to begin production on Season 1, the production designers only had access to a prototype version of the set, resulting in the animated version of the Tread Assault looking radically different from the final product).
You can see several prototype versions of the set in this video interview with designer Menelaos Florides: https://ing.dk/video/sadan-arbejder-seniordesigneren-hos-lego-129346
The animated version most closely resembles a prototype of the set shown at around 2:11 in the video, including features absent from the final set like swords mounted horizontally in front of the wheels, and a third forward-facing golden spike mounted on top of the front cannon (rather than just the two on either side in the final set). This prototype did already have the camouflage feature, but the initial prototype design, shown at 2:26 in the video, did not.

    Fair points @Aanchir

Second episode is out in Korean:

I'm guessing the shorts Jay appeared in take place during this episode and/or possible subsequent ones.

    Fourth:

    and Fifth:

Third is out as well, but...I didn't like that one; seemed like filler delaying our actual entry into the game universe, which of course is the priority this season.

Episode five is particularly interesting; nice to see so much focus on a character who appears in only a single set. Of course, I'm sure what most folks are waiting for with regards to said set is when a certain villainess might be making her return appearance...

    Korean Episode 6:

And, at long last, another Prime Empire short in English:

I expect this one might take place around the time of episode 4, as Zane is the only Ninja to appear. Not sure whether we can expect any more shorts; I believe this is the sixth one.

    Korean episode 7:

Well, I've got mixed feelings about the summer wave sets. Nya appears in three so far, not counting Legacy, which is good...but she doesn't get a vehicle or dragon. I'm also not thrilled about Kai getting another mech when he's already gotten one this year. On the subject of Legacy, not the most exciting additions; Destiny's Bounty is fun but all the minifigs are the same as the Legacy Year One set except for Legacy evil Lloyd.

Rumor also has it that at one point the set was going to have Legacy Garmadon with the Mega Weapon, which would have been nice. Also kind of bummed that we didn't get anything new like the Giant Stone Warrior we got with the Earth Driller last year. I've been dying for an Overlord Dragon...or Garmadon's Mech.

Not too enthusiastic about the bad guys so far either; not really digging the goblin guys. The pictures they've released so far don't really give us a good look at the Skull Sorcerer. I was hoping we might be getting a new set of Skulkin or something, but don't know if that's what the black skeletons are or not; if so, they seem to be the mass-produced grunts this wave, akin to the Red Visors of Prime Empire. Also doesn't look as though we're getting any female villains this wave...at least last time we got one, even if it was just a new version of Harumi.

...starting to wonder why I post in the thread anymore; interest in Ninjago seems to have died out, at least on this forum.

    Korean episodes: 13

    14

    and 15:

Don't know when the episodes are supposed to be available in English yet, but there have also been a couple of trailers for the following season. Think I'm going to be skipping some episodes, if not the entire season, due to the dumb scantily clad "she-orc" designs we look to be getting for some characters. However, there is some cool, not dumb story info-including MAJOR spoilers-that Lego released officially: https://www.lego.com/en-us/campaigns/kids/ninjago/choose-the-path

You'll want to scroll down the page and click on "Download Play Guide". It's a set of instructions for the game you're able to play using the season thirteen sets, but the character pages include a number of story details.

But then it's in korean... I watched one of the early season in czech or something, could still kinda understand some of what they were saying, but it was a bit annoying. Also turns out those korean videos are blocked in my country anyway.

I’m pretty late to the game Ninjago game. I had only bought a couple sets in the past (at deep discount for gifts) but I liked the videogame theme and picked up most of the wave and I look forward to the “dragons & dungeons” when it gets released here soon.

I’ve never watched the videos but I just got the movie and I’ll check it out soon.

I really liked heliport’s collection photo (Posted in another thread) of all the aquatic animal movie Sets but I doubt I’ll go back and track them down.

I enjoyed the last few waves of Ninjago. The gaming line, the Mad Max line, both really cool. I am not at all interested in the re-release/re-imagining of the old sets they have been doing though. Although the Destiny Bounty is an exception. I will try and get that when a good offer arises. I am mainly interested in structures and villains though as new ninja variants are just too common and samey to me.
  • jnscoelhojnscoelho Member Posts: 696
I'm interested in both the new lines and in Legacy, because I've only started collecting NINJAGO recently. But it's mostly buildings and animals (mostly dragons). Of the gaming line I only like #71713 Empire Dragon, though. But the new one is awesome, I'll be buying most, if not all, sets. Destiny's Bounty as well, because it's a great fit with #70670 Monastery of Spinjitzu.

I've never seen the series. I just buy sets I like. Ninjago is very hit-or-miss for me. I tend to like the bad guys more- Skybound and Hunted especially. #70654 Dieselnaut is one of my favorite LEGO sets. I bought nine of #30547 Dragon Hunter polybag to give Iron Baron plenty of soldiers.

Ninjago is definitely on my short list of favorite themes, I've been collecting it since I came out of my dark ages. It was the Epic Dragon battle that caught my eye, the Great Devourer in that set is awesome. And I also loved the serpentine bodies of Acidus and Skalidor. So it started out as just collecting all of the different serpentine minifigures, then it turned into collecting all of the dragons, then all of the Skulkin figures, then I just decided to get all of the vehicles while I was at it.
As far as the show, I do enjoy it, some of the seasons are WAY better than others. There are still a number of sets that they could make from the older episodes, I'm still hoping for an Overlord Dragon and Preeminent. And better Skulkin spiders than the one that came on Garmadon's fortress.

The first episode of Prime Empire has been uploaded to YouTube in English by Cartoon Network...Asia, of all channels:

I doubt it's going to be a source for most of the episodes; the last one they uploaded before that was "Vengeance is Mine!", the second-to-last episode of the Fire Chapter of Season 11.

@SearchlightRG thanks for all the Ninjago video posts. I’ve watched the series in English now, they’ve all been available for a while in English but wouldn’t have known to look without your posts.
  • SearchlightRGSearchlightRG Member Posts: 267
@sonatine01 Yes, sadly the episodes in English tend to get leaked well in advance of being released officially, which I can't imagine helps the show's ratings.
  • sonatine01sonatine01 Member Posts: 782
I don’t know, my son would always rewatch episodes god knows how many times. If the shows good on YouTube he’d watch it on Cartoon Network loads too but that’s just my personal experience.
  • LyichirLyichir Member Posts: 1,018
I remember reading an anecdote from a writer for another show that apparently Ninjago gets (or at least got, at one point) some of the highest viewership for any cartoon on TV. I doubt the leaks substantially affect viewership especially considering that the main kid audience isn't necessarily the same as the older audience who participate actively in the online fandom and have the know-how to know when leaks become available and seek them out.
  • SearchlightRGSearchlightRG Member Posts: 267
Well, I still dislike the fact that people leak the episodes online.
  • SearchlightRGSearchlightRG Member Posts: 267
Well, contrary to my expectations, Cartoon Network Asia has released episode two of Prime Empire in English:

I must admit that I haven't bought any Ninjago sets for a while now. I do prefer the more "cyberpunk" / "lo-tech" sub-themes, so have all of the Skybound sets and a number from Tournament of the Elements, Possession, but few from the very recent ones.
I was tempted by a couple of sets in SoG and Hunted, but not enough to pull the trigger and I am looking at a couple of the MotM sets, which may tempt me further.
In fact, shockingly, I've just checked my collection and the last couple of sets I bought were from Hands of Time and TLNM!

Ninjago is about all I have bought this year apart from the Pirate Ideas set. The Gamer Market and the Empire Temple were just so cool I had to get them. One day I hope to have time to integrate them into Ninjago City modular mocs.

Well, Cartoon Network Asia has added almost all of the episodes in English by now; I think there's only a handful left. You can find them here.

For some reason episode 1 is on there twice; not sure what that's about.

In other news, there's rumors of a 2021 Lego set, #71741, that is purportedly a new addition to the Ninjago City/Ninjago City Docks setup from the Lego Ninjago Movie line. It's a bit of a surprise, coming four years after the 2017 movie, but if it's true it could certainly be interesting. There were a few movie minifigures absent from various sets and the CMF series, notably including the Shark Army Narwhal and the Fuchsia Ninja. Could also be an opportunity for them to release characters from the show who haven't yet received physical minifigures, like Lou or Dr. Julien.

Well, quite a bit has happened in a month. Cartoon Network has finished airing Prime Empire and started airing Master of the Mountain in English; the latter seems like it had potential to be a fun season, so the way they handled the Munce designs is rather disappointing. I am not a fan of the "jungle/barbarian girl" look.

Also have had quite a few set names for 2021 appearing on various sites, in addition to the rumors of Ninjago City Gardens.

It looks stunning but for some reason it doesn't hit me as great as say, Ninjago City itself. It's interesting to note that it appears to be on a 32x32 baseplate area and thus may signal that there is one more part to this City, I also find it important to mention that it is basically a City on top of the water with few rock work on the supports likely hinting that it's a City which grew from the Docks and expanded around and above it as the years passed.

I'm a bit perplexed by the fact that it seems clearly meant as an add-on to Ninjago City and the Docks, yet it's clearly Legacy themed. Three Legacy Ninja, show-accurate Misako, three season 11-12 minifigures...and sadly, no sign of the Shark Army Narwhal or Fuchsia Ninja anywhere...

That's to be expected. After the Ninjago movie landed with a bit of a thud, it'd be unlikely for future sets to be wholly based that particular iteration of the series, but nevertheless the previous two sets still form a solid format for future Ninjago D2C sets.

I’m lazy, so I’m just going to copy and paste my thoughts on the set from my post on Eurobricks. 😂

In my opinion, the original Ninjago City is the greatest Lego set of all time. The build is so intricate and full of interesting techniques that you can see for yourself how much love and attention was put into it. It’s filled with so many easter eggs and references that will please Lego and Ninjago fans alike. It’s a great value for all the pieces and minifigures that it comes with. I have never taken it off of display since I got it two and a half years ago, because it’s the crown jewel of my Lego collection.

Maybe I’m being a bit hyperbolic about my love for the original set, but needless to say, I had high expectations for the Gardens when rumors for it started to circulate. I thought the leaked pictures looked good already, but I couldn’t make out too many details at that given time. Now that we have these quality pictures of the build and minifigure selection, I’m pleased to say that this a worthy follow-up to what I consider to be the greatest Lego set of all time! I’m also glad to see people being less disappointed with this model than they were with the blurry preliminaries.

While this set doesn’t blow me away like the 2017 model did, I’m still impressed with how vibrant and detailed this one looks. The colors just pop so well and all of the trees look great. It certainly beats the singular tree on the original model. It looks like there’s some pretty cool locations on this model: the Ice Planet Ice Cream shop, Master Chen’s Noodle Shop, the museum, the “ninja zone”, and the Ninjago Fan’s Apartment. This set just packs so much into it that it brings me back to taking in the original set for the first time.

Unpopular opinion here, but I think the minifigure selection here is better than the City or Docks. Here you get the full cast of major characters (the ninja and Wu), some key supporting characters (Misako, Ronin, Clutch Powers, The Mechanic), and plenty of generic civilians. While the lack of certain named characters, like Skylor, Pixal, Cyrus Borg or Dr. Julien, is disappointing, and there are some other puzzling figure decisions, I still really like what we got and prefer the amount of named characters we’re getting here to its sister sets. In those we got two or three characters and maybe one or two other show/movie characters, whereas here we’re getting a majority of recognizable characters.

All in all, I really like this set and am anticipating it more than any other set coming out next year. (So far! laugh)

I've just seen the images for the Ninjago "Seabound" sets and... Wow! These two look especially incredible:

#71755 Temple of the Endless Sea
    #71756 Hydro Bounty

The teal / gold / black colour scheme of the Temple and the white / gold / black of the Bounty look really striking and the sets overall look really fantastic, from a content perspective.

I haven't bought much Ninjago recently, apart from the large Ninjago City sets, though I do still have a few of the "Master of the Mountain" and "The Island" sets on my wishlist, but these will definitely get added as well.

^ I like the temple more and not really too keen bounty but the minifig line up of the bounty is superb. All the team with full underwater gear as well as 3 newish hair parts on top. That new underwater whoever person that looks super cool, might need to pick it up if there is a good sales.
  • SearchlightRGSearchlightRG Member Posts: 267
I'm a bit bummed by the fact that there are only three distinct villain characters for Seabound, ignoring the fact that the Maaray Guards are mass-produced grunts. Of course, it's been a trend in Ninjago for a number of years now that there are fewer and fewer individual villains...still makes me kind of sad.

That being said, I quite like the look of the Seabound sets otherwise. Glad Nya FINALLY has her own dragon, and hoping we might see more in the future; her Elemental Dragon could be nice since Legacy is getting closer to the Possession/Skybound period.
